      Not as easy as you think. As he showed, this serve is better very close to the net. You need a lot of practice otherwise the ball will just hit the net. Also, you need a good rubber to have a lot of effect on the ball.

      Hi! What rubbers are you using?

  • @ultraparadoxical7610
    @ultraparadoxical7610 3 роки тому +136

    Practicing this also has the advantage that, when you do it right, most of the balls remain on the table, making for an easy cleanup.

    It really takes a lot of practice. Even when you think you got it right after 1 hour and 400 balls, a week later in the next training unit you have to do it again. Continuous for quite a while, before this complex series of movements has settled down in that brain between your ears.
    But it is worth the effort.

    Video is good, but just before 3:00, aren't you throwing the ball backwards into your paddle? That's an illegal toss... and even the high toss before 4:00 is a quite angled... supposed to be straight up, with minimal deflection from vertical.

    Just a quick tip that the guy in the video hasn’t mentioned, this trick won’t work on ping pong paddles, you need a table tennis racket, they are different, table tennis rackets use rubber topsheets while ping pong uses foam or sandpaper, and you need rubber that grips the ball, I use dhs hurricane 3 neo which is so tacky that a slight brush will give the same effect, you can also suspend the ball from the rubber for ~20 seconds, so just make sure that you aren’t using anything cheap.

    did you re-glue or bought an used rubber on the black side? tensors usually shrink after its taken off, so it is quite hard to glue them back exactly as it was, but using a roller and pressing while gluing the rubber on the blade can get most of the tensor effect back if done correctly.
