Loving how honest, holistic, and passionate you are about food and your diet. It's never just an aesthetic what-I-eat-in-a-day. It's also a healthy conversation and a look into a new mindset for those struggling with their relationship with food
I love your chatty videos so much!!! I feel like it is perfectly natural to have appetite/diet changes, and I’m glad you’re eating what’s making you feel good. I sometimes go through these phases where I lose my appetite for days, and I remember watching your videos where you said the exact same thing happens to you, and it made me feel like I wasn’t alone! I got so much inspiration from you for what to eat when I don’t feel like eating!
omg why are people attacking other people's lifestyle choices... thank you for sharing but also never feel pressured to have to explain anything!! it is your life... if you choose to eat something that don't even make you feel good physically, why should anyone else say anything when they're not feeling that struggle?!?!? keep doing you :) honestly your videos make me make more conscious choices with eating because you share the not-so-"perfect" sides of it, which makes it more attainable and comfortable!
I also can’t eat gluten but have recently fallen off the gluten -free wagon for a bit and am trying to jump back on. When people know that you can’t eat gluten they have a lot to say and it can be very annoying explaining yourself when no one else has to explain their food choices. Thanks for sharing because I know I’ve felt like “omg I’m being so bad” but I’m glad I’m not the only one. I’ve realized this is something that may “ebb and flow” throughout my life.
UGHHH yes, it gets sooo tiring explaining bc half the time you're challenged either for being gluten free or for "trying to be trendy" like bishhh I wanna be eating glutenous bread so badly lmao
I really feel you in how stress has changed my appetite/eating habits, and it’s been different effects over time 🥲 glad to know I’m not alone in this as a vegan!
I feel like this video represents so much growth Remy, honouring your body and your truth and you seem so relaxed and free from the tangles of diet culture. I have been thinking about how my diet shifted lately also, I used to eat so much salad bowls with lots of different components and take ages to make everything, but lately I've been choosing to focus more free time on meditation and reading and that has felt right now, so I am eating simpler food and also more drawn to hot food. It feels good for now, it will probably change again!
Dear Veggiekins (love the name!!), you do not need to explain to anyone why you do/eat what you do... it is YOUR life, your choice, how you feel good... like the gluten thing, it is something to figure out for everyone on their own. Many people do not have celiac disease, and can eat it. others have it and can't eat it... to each their own decisions. Same with veganism or oil use... these are personal decisions, and you do what works for you. I totally agree with being a valuable platform promoting veganism and healthy eating/living, and for certain: you are!! Oil or no oil ;) it is all about the delivery and the believe and worth and passion you pour into your content.
I relate to so much of this. I also haven't been into oatmeal lately after eating so much of it over the years. And have been eating less at breakfast, plus choosing smaller, denser meals. Our taste buds and habits can definitely change over the years. It's interesting! ☺️
I feel so heard here. I’m the same exact way. I love croissants and bagels but the gluten kills my digestion and makes me head ache for days… but I’ve had those f it moments too, and then end up sick for a while. When I was pregnant last year, all I wanted was a croissant and I ordered a bunch of vegan croissants… I truly enjoyed it, but got so sick. It’s just not worth it anymore. I feel you and I’m sorry you have to go through this too. With that said, maybe you have found a niche to get some good gluten free vegan croissants on the market.
Love 🥰 this what Remy ate in a day chatty video. Yes, stress does effect our motivation and we have to manage it. People need to not get too easily offended because Remy ate Gluten and stop getting onto her when she avoids it because if a food/ingredient is causing health issues it's best being avoided. I have a intolerance with artificial MSG( so I avoid anything with artificial MSG) I find that I don't have any energy or motivation to do anything without a breakfast so it gives me a good start to the day. Keep safe, warm & well. Love 💕Remy.
I think it must be stressful to constantly have to explain how your diet and food lifestyle changes but I understand, it's part of your job. It is also so important to take into consideration what our ancestors have eaten and finding a balance in eating what we want to eat.
Absolutely, I get a lot of feedback on what I eat, usually out of concern but also a lot of judgment! It can feel like I have a responsibility to always share balanced days of food knowing there's that expectation sometimes from people watching... but nevertheless I love that it's an opportunity to share meal ideas and of course it is definitely part of the job haha :P
Smoothies are *totally* not a winter food because it definitely makes it even harder for our bodies to keep us warm! Plus, cold food actually might be much harder to digest in the colder months :)
Loved to see your updated diet! I feel like mine also changed due to stress and I'm eating not as healthy as I should (and want to!), also my appetite is very strange and I got very picky on what I should cook, so it's mostly the same meals 😅 i feel like i lost my motivation to cook and bake more :( maybe it'll change back in the future ♥️ i also noticed I'm craving more eastasian (inspired) food so that's what I'm eating a lot atm ✨ hugs from Germany ♥️
There’s definitely been a shift in my vegan diet in the last few months. I got a diagnosis of gastroparesi, which is delayed emptying of the stomach. So I’m currently eating a low fodmap vegan diet. Still working on the limitation phase so it’s still pretty restrictive but it’s eased my stomach pain so much. Like here are some of the top high fodmap foods to avoid; garlic, onions, gluten, lactose(not that vegans are eating that), glucose fructose, corn. There’s others but these were hard ones for me. I just mentioned the lactose because a bunch of my favourite “accidentally vegan” snacks have had that put back into their ingredients list.
Oh man!!!!! That is definitely tough :( Absolutely gets tricky navigating "extra" restrictions as a vegan, but ultimately it's doable, just sometimes a bummer to be left out of the "fun vegan food" and snacks haha.
@@Veggiekins Ain’t that the truth. I was only able to find one physical cook about it too. Most of the time I’m trying to experiment with my current recipes and trying to convert them.
I feel the same way about gluten. I have been discovering my gluten sensitivity / intolerance and it has been so hard to just throw it out the window and enjoy it but your future self doesn't deserve that self-sabotage : ' (
I’ve had maybe three smoothies in close to a year. Had a bad experience with protein powder that turned me off of them. I also could pound down large smoothies but after that protein smoothie debacle, I haven’t had more than 16oz at a time. As far as intermittent fasting, I’ve been doing this almost my entire life bc I will literally vomit if I eat too soon. I need to wait three to four hours to eat...been like this since elementary school and I’m almost 23 now😬
Totally relate!! Oatmeal used to be my go to energy boost every morning but ever since I moved back home and started working, my appetite has been terrible and I can’t bring myself to eat such a heavy breakfast (though I wake at exactly the same times as before)
I haven't tried it myself, but I do think it should work in theory! I would blend the mungbeans first and then add flour to achieve the batter texture. You could maybe play around with adding more as you go (testing with small pancakes first to check texture)
sounds like me by so much lol, i used to have smoothies, oatmeal and tempeh every single day, these days it's just rice tofu, and broccoli lol. I can still have gluten thank god unless it's cheap quality (full of glyphosate probably) or bromated flours, but I try my best to do oil-free because it tacks on the weight for me and makes my chest hurt, plus my skin gets really oily minutes after. I was also raw vegan for a year or so, but thats cuz i was homeless at the time and couldn't cook lol, but without rent I could have all the watermelons, papayas, mangos and cherimoyas I could ever want, and longans omg so good. I think I could definitely go back to raw vegan if i had the money and fruit supply
I've heard that that intermittent fasting for females is very stressful to the body and not good for femals hormones..so interesting that you are bypassing it. Hope you are okay!!
Yes this is definitely true! I wouldn't say I'm intermittent fasting though, it's more that I've been intentionally trying to wake up later than I usually do (4AM vs. like 9-11AM), so maybe "late" to me is not that late objectively :P
I'm gluten avoidant, not gluten-free. 😄 Don't have celiac but it can make me sick..but it's so delicious...so every now and then I'll have one thing with some gluten.
To whoever is reading this : May God bless you ! You’re gunna do great for ur school year ! Put God first and everything will fall into place ! I used to eat oatmeal or have smoothies everyday but I've been skipping breakfast. I try to fast whenever I can. And I'm just not hungry in the morning. Emotions does affect appetite. Including stress. I'm trying so hard to quit gluten. It really is not good for our body. Best to just avoid it. Our bodies don't digest it well. I don't eat gluten free anything. I rather not eat substitutes. Including mylks.milks. Yes please more food vlogs lol.

I’ve been loving my matcha routine after buying the products you’ve recommended. Even have it in a pink ceramic bowl

Omg so with you on oatmeal I ate sooo much oatmeal for years and I'm so over it lol
Hahahah I straight up had it for brekkie like 3 years in a row daily I swear 😭
Can we get a recipe for the mung bean pancakes?
Yes! They are in the description box
