Thank you for this space, especially for this broad discussion about personal development as an artist and for tips on gig payment models, safety contract points and pipelines. I appreciate that you tackled not only gen Ai but, more importantly for me, your approach to developing a sustainable business and how to start. As a 29-year-old fresh graduate from architecture and urban design, who stopped daydreaming and started pursuing my childhood dream in those crazy times to become a concept designer and comic book artist, I feel that what I do matters at least for me and your discussion gave me a lot of strength

@klichocik #1 thing is know that as an artist you are your own business. You are not "like" your own business, you are literally your own business. Learn business so that you can work for yourself, even if you're at times an employee on timecard. That can change. Your career as an artist and creative is always bigger than any one job.
Because your employment as an artist can change in an instant, as you well know if you follow the trades.

As an artist in the industry, it is a gift, AI is a gift.

How so? It's going to lower your wage. Also, an artist in the industry.
