Correct. Live action boards. Animation board artists are part of Local 839, The Animation Guild and I'm pretty sure their negotiations are handled separately from the rest of IATSE. I'm realizing I have gaps in my knowledge there- as far as why they're part of IATSE but separate. Maybe The Art Directors Guild should have been separate too. Maybe it comes down to on-set workers compared to animation workers which are in office or remote. Negotiating the conditions surrounding a film set don't concern TAG and vice versa. The same is also true of illustrators and designers in ADG.

@klichocik #1 thing is know that as an artist you are your own business. You are not "like" your own business, you are literally your own business. Learn business so that you can work for yourself, even if you're at times an employee on timecard. That can change. Your career as an artist and creative is always bigger than any one job. Because your employment as an artist can change in an instant, as you well know if you follow the trades.

to be dead honest, if Cartoon Network decided to make ai animation shows, it would honestly be a worse decision than making live action shows.

I don't see how they wouldn't TRY. And depending on how those shows perform compared to the much, MUCH higher priced shows, they may decide to invest more heavily in them, taking funds away from the more conventional shows. In any event, specialized GENAI workflows will likely be developed that significantly reduce the need for humans, even on conventional shows. This actually benefits super small studios more than the larger studios who have the resources smaller studios don't have.

I agree. The utopia that AI could provide for us will be a dystopian nightmare due to capitalism. That is why we need to regulate it. Capitalists would use slave labor if they could.

You seem to know exactly what you're talking about. I thought they had to be Duergar, too, but I thought they mostly sported beards like surface dwarves? Maybe it's because they are being shown as slaves and forced to shave the beards? The only cities I know of with distinct towers like that are Neverwinter, Elturel and Candlekeep (but that's an island). I looked at a map of Waterdeep and it doesn't seem to fit. Could be though! Movies take creative license. I don't know about the Thayan Knights but if that's so, then the whole Red Wizard thing has gotta be confirmed! If those guys in red are drow, I will be totally let down. Only the women are blessed by Lolth with her magic! Drow clothing has got to be super sick or nothing. If there're ancient magic items around, there's always the chance the Netherese are involved. Maybe it's easier to depict magen this way. I think you're right about Thayan Knights after looking up artwork.

You know, the fact that the fat dragon is there and it's catered to by Duergar combined with the location looking similar to that other scene and the low chance there would be multiple scenes going underground to similar looking locations leads me to believe that those statues were in fact Duergar. They may be in poses of making offerings to the dragon.

I guess they went to replace the redheads with minorities but now that they've been taken down they look for replacing blondes.

Yeah, If you don't see them as soon as you enter the dark room you are absolutely FUCKED I'm not kidding I've also played black mesa but stopped playing after the first assassin encounter, like the first assassin kill I made.
