Something to watch: the SUB are always changing and fluctuating around the new year because Southwest knows this is the best time to take advantage of the strategy. Keep checking back for the right bonus offer to allow you to hit your goals
Great video! I have one question that still is not completely clear to me. Say I don't reach 135k points by the end of January 2025. Say I reach it in March 2025. Do I get companion for the next 9 months of 2025 and then 12 more months of 2026? Or just 9 months in 2025? Thank you
Thank you for this video. I live in the city where the closest airport is the main hub for Southwest, so I am thinking of applying credit cards. I have couple of questions: 1. If I were booking my own ticket with mileage, can I redeem that companion pass with only paying taxes? Or does ticket only have to be purchased with actual money to be eligible for companion pass to kick in? 2. Is companion pass under my southwest rewards account? or under my credit card? I typically get on southwest plane when I'm on my business trip. Unfortunately, I won't be able to use my personal card & get reimbursed from the company.
1. You can book an award flight and redeem your points then attach your companion ticket to that booking 2. It’s under your rapid rewards account. You don’t have to have a credit card to get the pass (but as you see here) it 100% helps.
Bogus. Go to the 6:07 mark and you can see it was always 40k miles, and he edited the exact same picture at 6:29 to read 50k. Terrible edit job too. Lame.
I noticed today that for personal credit cards they are now offering 40k points + 400 statement credit for spending 3k. Coupling that with the performance business gets us to 120k, there’s a 10k rapid rewards point bonus that happens Jan 1st correct? So that would still bring us to 130k and then the natural spending on the cards will give the extra 5k bringing us to at least 135k. Bummed that the minimum spend is higher but just wanting to clarify that the strategy is still doable

How long to wait between applying to the business and the personal?

The current rate is 50K miles for personal and 80 for business, he said it fluctuates depending on the time of year.

This guy would be great if he was succinct, but steady, repeats himself with his drawn out set up.
