- The Customs House was built for the Port Talbot Railway and Docks Company in 1897, funded by Emily Charlotte Talbot of Margam. The building has recently been used as social services offices for Neath Port Talbot council.
It stood as one of the oldest buildings on Talbot road, and in the majority of Port Talbot Town centre. It's neighbour, Royal Buildings, which once housed a theatre at the back and retail units on the ground floor, has also been demolished for redevelopment. Flats and retail units are planned for this site.
