I just recently discovered this and was just saying how much i like it.
It's like a mix of a fern, sensitive plant, and a Venus fly trap.
Very green on the bottom and reddish on top with white blooms..
Came here to see how to multiply it, and I think you covered it. Thank you.

I just got some of your mermaid weed and I love it! Beautiful and healthy. As a bonus I ordered a bunch and received a pot.

Got this beauty in a low tech. It’s a cool plant and I love the serrated leaves. 💚🌱

Perfect timing. Just got some of this Friday at a LFS sale. All green, very thin main body of the leaves, so I’d assume it was from submerged, but all green. I’ve got a finnex 24/7 CRV that I leave cranked all the way up during the day so hoping for some reds soon.

I want you to try something. Next time your roots rot, and you trim them off, dip the roots in a rooting hormone and put in a regular potting soil. Ive had decent success forcing them to regrow as emersed form

I recently got it. I have a good light, liquid Co2, and tabs/nutribars. Has great serrated edges, not getting the color yet. My growth seems decent though. Only had it a week

It's my favorite plant. I've grown it without co2 and medium light and it will get alil orange color but I'm lucky to get an inch of growth every 2 months in those those conditions. And ultimately it gets covered in algae and the bottom leaves start to drop off.
In my high light co2 10g with thrive dosing I'm getting 2" of growth a week and it has a nice copper color. Its leaves are so serrated/thin that it looks like a completely different plant than this vid.

What are its temperature requirements? I'm growing it outside in a pond in Arizona. Just wondering if I need to bring in cuttings or if it will survive.

@@robinwise3295 Hi the way i grow new plants is to cut off a leaf with a stem of about 4 inches ( 10cm) then let it float in on the surface , eventually it will grow roots then you can plant it Aparently from my research when i first started the lilly pads that float on surface look for the nodes on the stem because tney will grow roots. But i've never tested that theory. Because i usually clip off the lilly pads before that happens. The reason i do that is because the plant uses energy to make those lilly pads so the leaves at the base of plant will eventually die off. Pity you can't have both. This plant grows really fast. I mean really fast.
