Alex , great content as always. You should check to make sure your van’s alternator is capable of outputting the amount of amps needed to run your van side and your “house” side. Sometimes they need to be upgraded and I believe people will even put a second alternator and upsize certain wires. Just double check so you don’t cause yourself a headache. Love the Victron equipment 👍

Your alternator produces the fourteen amps, your battery can only provide thirteen amps. That all seems to be working correctly. A fully charged twelve volt battery sits at about 13.5 volts. I think you are in good shape. I would love it if he went fishing with you. He could probably use some time around someone who is not profit driven paparatzi. Hoping the trip goes without a hitch. Good video. Pax.
Does you van have a high idle option? At idle the alternator may only be putting out enough to run vehicle electronics. I work on an ambulance and we run a similar setup. If I’m on scene using lights, heart monitor and the flashing emergency light our power will drop to the point of some drawing too much power and the ambulance dying. To combat this we have to set them at high idle to keep everything charging.

All I have is pictures of my PB bass, a 22+” smallie (had a MTB with me) with a 16+” girth on the Shenandoah from last year… I bought a scale and tape immediately after and they are always with me. A 6lb smallie is awesome BUT was it 7??? I’ll never know. Keep trying to be the best you out there, bud. If you have a smart alternator it won't output more then starter battery needs to stay topped up. You'll need to run a wire from the dc to dc charger to an ignition source in the van. And also, I do believe it is better to run the charger directly to the battery.

Edit: nvm I'm pretty sure that's a sprinter? Looked like a transit, but on second glance it doesn't look like a transit Yo AP, I also have a 2020 Ford Transit that I converted into a camper. I have a 60 amp Sterling DC to DC charger on my van and it works. When my van is running it charges the house battery with 40-45 amps. Not sure how you connected the van starter battery side to the charger, but you need to use the ccp2 (I think that's what it's called) as the positive. It's tucked away on the driver's seat metal base with a plastic cover. Also you can't connect the input negative to the starter battery, it has to be a mounting point on the chassis. I connected my negative to a grounding point under the flooring between the driver and passenger seat, you can lift the flooring up and see a bolt, that's what I used. As far as the output positive and negative, it can be connected to the positive bus bar and negative bus bar. I used a fuse from the van starter battery (ccp2) to the input on charger, another fuse from output on charger to positive bus bar on house battery.
Did you try a beefier alternator? There usually designed to basically cover what the vehicle needs. It is a van which more juice is expected for accessories but if your planning on being able to live in it maby an alternator that puts out more.

Emotional intelligence is a very worth while pursuit. It is really hard to get a scope on when your life is magnified to the public. I wish you all the best on your journey. In the end I have found the hardest part is dealing with the mistakes I never processed before and the shame of a more mature me looking back on poor social decisions I made in a less grown state of mind.
