This recipe is for oven BAKE only at 350f/180c All ingredients used and exact oven temperature in Celsius and Fahrenheit are stated in the description box beneath the video. Please READ IT. Also It cannot be fried. You cannot use a microwave. Please Oven bake only. Also when I mentioned too much onions making it “too Nigerian” , I actually meant so it doesn’t taste too savoury instead it should have a balance of sweet and savoury since it’s a pastry.

Thank you kindly 4 this recipe. I have a Testimony ok. 2 weeks ago I attended a Baby Shower at Church. A Nigerian lady made a whole platter of savouries and the meat pies was wala 4 me. I really enjoyed it very much so. So I nicely asked her 4 the recipe and she told me straight 2 my face NO. She is gonna make and sell it. So I had no choice but to just agree. As it stands God had a choice and He said don't worry my child I will get the recipe to you and so He led me 2 your channel. Praise the LORD. What Christian people from the Church can't help me with, God can. I will definitely try it out soon. I just love the dough. I never ate a pie so dry and tightly packed. Thanks again. To God be the Glory.

As an atheist, I can't relate to all that stuff about god. But these are great pies, I will make them and give thanks to the animals and plants that made it all possible. I will give thanks to the author of this video, and finally thanks to myself for trying something new! Have a good life, and without trying to be cynical, God bless you.

This recipe was so easy to make, and the result was better than I expected. It's super easy for a 12 year old like me to make(when supervised by an adult), and everybody in my family fell in love with it. I had a different kind of butter, which I used, so the pie was baked in half the time. Overall, this recipe is amazing, and I love it. Keep up the good work!

My niece who i have adopted, is half Nigerian half Austrian, living with me, she gets mostly "Polish" meals slash "American". She just started baking and cooking for the family along with my other children all between 9 and 12.
I was looking into meals from her heritage and found you! I'm so glad I did. I think this meal will be a good introduction, seems like a lot of the same ingredients in a different way. I personally can't wait to try the okra soup! She's excited to try it! Thank you!

I tried this tonight and it turned out so much better than I expected! I didn’t have butter, so I used margarine and it still worked great. I’m sure with butter tastes better, but even so it tasted delicious and was so flakey and nice! I made a half batch of the filling with beef and a half batch with shredded chicken and both turned out very well. The chicken was a little dry so I put some chicken stock in to help it be juicier. I will definitely make this again. My husband was super excited I made these :) Thanks for your helpful video! Just what I needed!!

On why we poke it, apart from excess moisture release, it gives it that authentic Naija meat pie look. Thanks for the vid.

I'm definitely trying this with milk in the recipe like you did. I remember the restaurant called Tantaliser usually had very tasty minced meat pies that was different from the other restaurants, I figured it was due to the milk in their recipe.

This is a super yummy recipe, thanks so much for sharing 😀 oh and btw mince pies aren't the equivalent of meatpies. Mince pies are traditionally eaten around Christmas time and the filling is made with raisins sometimes soaked in alcohol such as brandy. The British equivalent of meatpies are referred to as Cornish pasty I believe 😊
