Thank you. It might be cool to have the option to somehow out the controller on the hand wing handle so you don’t have to hold it and the boom at the same time.

This product really appeals. I'm wingfoiling, 58 and have less time available to spend on the water and need to make every day out count, and don't have the energy that I used to have to expend on getting on foil in marginal conditions. I'm still working on my jibes and it looks like I could use this to nail the turns and ride in a switch stance without having to handle the wing. Once I've nailed that, I could add the wing and practice in light winds... a lot like land board. There's also adding pump foiling with the option of resting/gliding when you run out of energy
.... okay, here's an idea I think would be cool for the app: a customizable acceleration profile. I'm guessing it's pretty linear right now. I rode an efoil once and it was very difficult to modulate the throttle. It was too easy for me to "floor it" and fly off, or not squeeze enough, and have a hard time getting up. There was a very definite "sweet spot" to squeeze the trigger, but it was in a very narrow range of the trigger switch. It would have be nice to have had the sweet spot in a larger sweep of the throttle. Could you develop something like this in a control update; making a customizable acceleration profile. The One Wheel has features like this programming their control.... something to think about. Maybe it isn't a issue for the Foil Drive, but it was for the efoil I rode.

One idea is to have up to 3 different preset cruise control settings (maybe 30%, 40% and 50%) which could be selected while foil driving instead of only one.

I am a little confused with how the Battery Modes (Low, Med, High) and the "Boost" interact ...
For example, when in High Battery Mode and the Boost being set to 0%, does that mean that in full throttle I am running the system on 80% of its capacity (in terms of rpm and/or torque or whatever)?
And what to the Battery Modes affect precisely: rpm or/and torque or both or anything else?
    🙋‍♂🙋‍♂

Does boost start when you press the throttle or when you fully press it? In other words if I start the throttle at 25%, keep it there for five seconds, then fully engage the trigger to 100%, will I get 15 seconds of boost at 100% throttle or did I use some of it when I had the throttle at 25%?

Congrats Paul...I do have to say, as one of those that bought the Gen 1, I'm a little jealous of the new gear. Have you guys considered a buyback or discount to prior supporters to get upgraded to the new tech?

Thanks for your support! Unfortunately the Gen1 and Gen2 systems are quite different so there's not a lot that can be used. You might be interested in watching this video where Paul talks through the different options for Gen1 customers:

Great informative video. With respect to power and boost settings is there somewhere we can find comparable standard power for FD+? Just so we have a starting point for starting to tweak set up and settings using Gen 2? Thanks again.

Has the FD team considered supporting a "dumb button" with a preset acceleration profile like the boost fin so someone can paddle instead of gripping the controller?

Your last minute of the video seems to contradict. First you say that every time you go through the app, if you had previously adjusted latency, you need to make the adjustment again because it doesn’t remember. Then, you immediately go through the app (again), and say “I don’t need to set latency because I already did that.” Also, please make a screen in the app to allow user to see all current user settings at any time after they have been saved. We need to be able to, for example, plug in the battery, open the app, and see what our motor is planning on doing with regard to settings.

Sorry we mis-spoke. the app does not remember or read the previously set settings. I think he was referring to the fact that the latency was intended to be set to default so it didnt need to be touched again. Future updates of the app we are working on a Read_display_modify_save style workflow.

300 m/s cut off -> 671MPH is it rocket powered? :D maybe 300m/s2 which is 30G, also rocket powered? Ok I get it 300ms cut off timeout
