I'm leaning towards to collecting Japanese cards now. One American collector said, "I don't play the game, so why would I want the English version?" There's always issues with manufacturing on the English cards, e.g., off-centered, whitening edges, errors, etc. Japanese cards are just built better. Now that you did the Mentos commercial, when's that snicker commercial?
Haven't really opened Vstar before and honestly if the prices weren't so crazy I'd like to open another box of dream league since that is one of my favorite japanese sets.
Paper/cardboard cuts are the absolute worst. I work in a warehouse and wear gloves but they are inevitable. My worst one ever actually came from opening cards though: One of those gross Dubwool V Champion’s Path boxes. I was rewarded with the shiny Zard though so worth it!

Ruler cut you! It's a sign!! I'm a fan of Ruler but not for the Charizard. The Clefairy is just so clean and pretty and that Gloom art is so so pretty. I love any alternate art with other pokemons hidden in the background.

Even without the God Pack, VStar Universe Is the safer bet with pulls. Don't get me wrong, Ruler of the Black Flame has some of my favorite Pokémon featured in the set but VStar is the better value.
Great pulls! My favorite set by far in these last few months have been Crown Zenith/Vstar Universe. I have opened both and they both have been amazing with great artwork and pulls!
