How can you say it's not as well screwed together as a Skoka Kodiaq? Sounds like complete and utter euro bias to me. It's probably better screwed together than a Skoda.
The negative driving comfort comments are purely subjective and should be taken wit a gran of rice! I prefer a firmer suspension and would HATE driving a lifeless Honda !
In Canada it is a compact SUV and the top two trims come with a Turbo 2.5 gasoline engine putting out 250 HP and 310 pounds feet of torque which blows the doors off the mainstream competition and even a few luxury rivals in the compact SUV class. I bought one and it is a joy to drive. You pay a price in fuel economy but compared to full size SUVs, this little car is still pretty good on fuel. I can get 8.2 litres per 100 kilometers on a highway run. Mixed driving with a heavy foot I average 10.
@@klasseact6663 I've seen it on UA-cam. It probably wouldn't sell well here ( hence it's not sold here ). People here who buy large SUVs tend to prefer a premium badge. I'm not saying it's right or wrong just how it is.
always a great looking car, with a cool interior, especially with Stone Leather trim. Good plastic wheel arch cladding, unlike the CX-30, and great gearbox on manual. Rear arm rest also has the USB charge ports fitted. The only major problem is the poor 165PS 2.0L petrol engine - its gutless for overtaking/uphill. Maybe if it gets the Skyactiv X engine, it would improve it a bit.
In EU you can have 194 HP I've ordered one, the difference is very big, i've made test drive and can tell you that 194hp is completely different car and the difference is 1000 euro. The hybrid will be probably with 5-6000 expensive, so there is no go. The best would be if they had mazda CX 8 in european market, because in US and in Australia CX 8 is with 3000 expensive as CX 5 and it is the same car, but larger and with 7 seats.
My two favourites were the cx5 and the Peugot 3008, I ended up with the Peugot 3008 gt line auto and I'm very pleased with it although I still love the looks of the Mazda.
i really loved it and being diesel it was very very economical, I never altered or reset the mpg computer and it showed around 53,7 mpg, up to approx 56 ish on motorway at 70 mph on cruise. I now have changed to a Mazda CX-5 petrol and only get up to 41 mpg, although the build quality is far superior and even more technology, (heated steering wheel, electric adjustable seats etc etc., much better in terms of comfort, noise level etc.
@@jackthebassman1 Well first of, thank u for replying. 56 Mpg is isane! But what im more curious about is, did u had a lot of problems with the 3008? And how many miles did u drive with the 3008? Cause my wife wanted a 3008 but i convinced her to buy a cx 5, which she have done now😀
@@JohnJones-ky6ki I loved my 3008 1500 diesel with the 8speed auto, the mpg was as reported on the computer and I’m pretty sure it’s about right. I can honestly say I didn’t have a single problem with the 3008, although my mileage was reduced somewhat due to Covid. When I handed it back, the mileage registered about 34, 000 miles after 4 years and 3 months from memory. I have to say the combination of the 1500 diesel and the butter smooth 8 speed auto is superior to the 2ltr 6 speed auto in the Mazda. In the Peugot there is always a gear without over revving but the Mazda has a bigger gap between gears 5 and 6 and in situations like going uphill, engine revs far more due to the gap and certainly doesn’t help fuel economy. If the Mazda had the same engine/gearbox arrangement I’m sure it would be the perfect car for my use. There is no doubt the 2 ltr CX5 is superior in terms of build quality and I really enjoy driving it. By the way, you’re most welcome to my thoughts, drive safely ❤️
Rav4H is still the king in 2019. CX-5 has nicer interior , better AWD system and better handling but RAV4H wins in fuel efficiency, cargo space , reliability and resale value.
Michael T. Jones You’re absolutely right. What works for sine , might not necessarily work for others. I ended up getting 19 RAV4 mainly because of its fuel efficiency and large cargo space.
I very nearly bought one off the back of this review, everything about the car was right except the ride. I found it very stiff and where you could almost feel the texture of the surface of the road like the tyres were at 200psi.
Have one, but won’t buy another, hate that when the outside temp is below 12 deg, the engine revs for 30 secs to 2000 rpm like an old school choke, can smell the diesel fumes from miles away. Drive a few minutes and stop the engine, then start it again and it revs again! Also don’t like that every 200km it does a dpf regen for 16 minutes of driving, engine note is loud and boomy, mpg drops to under 30 at best wrecking your careful driving. Maybe this new version has fixed those bugs. Would love a turbo petrol manual version, tried the 2.5 auto but was a poor engine and gearbox combo.
We get the better and bigger engines in Australia. Here it definitely is not a large SUV though. For that we get the CX-9. Sell more CX-5 here than any other medium SUV, although the new hybrid RAV4 pose a serious threat now.
