I’m from the Stelly family of Opelousas. It was odd we had white Stellys and Black Stellys. You k ew they had some of the same blood. But they would not socialize with one another. Used to live on Houston street and walk to JS Clark elementary school. That was the 60s. We moved to Seattle area which is less racist.
Racist? Blacks and whites lived in harmony in Opelousas. As a white boy going to an all black school was hard. Bullying is what it is. And I was bullied because of my color. But it wasn't racist. I was just an easy target. I'm sure Seattle welcomed you
