Develop natural speech and language skills by creating an obstacle course at home with blue tape on the floor! Hide puzzle pieces! Freeze mini objects and watch them melt in your hands while you label them! Play hide and seek! Just PLAY and use any toy to MAKE IT FUN!
// Parents: Be aware of HOW your child's toys are presented! Are they scattered all over the toy box and they can only find 2 pieces to the puzzle? ORGANIZE the toys, put all toys and pieces in see-through bags or containers and rotate your toys in and out! Put you child's favorites just out of reach so that they can ASK for it by pointing, gesturing or using words! Create OPPORTUNITIES for your child to communicate by TEACHING them how to play with toys- if they don't like them, it's because they don't know what to do with them! SHOW them and model and PLAY! Playing is the golden ticket to speech and language development!

Hi, I'm new to your channel. I know I'm a bit late since my daughter is 5. I'm from the UK (London). Here, we use different medical terms, I think. I just want to be sure. Are you a speech and language therapist? Are your videos related to autism? My daughter is 5 and non verbal. She repeats words rather than actual communication. She does do the whole pulling and dragging thing. Is that autism or apraxia? Or do they mean the same thing? I would really like to know. Thank you.
I’m special needs and my baby brother who’s 4 might have autism but we are trying to look for him I had speak this morning and my mom told one of my speaks teacher that he has problems with talking he is not in school because of Covid

2 year old does not respond to name , non-verbal and no eye contact. Trying your techniques, do you recommend sticking to one language? We are a bilingual household.
My 2 year old is nonverbal and it’s so difficult to get her to engage. She also doesn’t like toys that “surprise” if that makes sense. I try to make things fun, but she seems to have an aversion/apprehension to things that pop at her or pop out at all and Diane really like loud, overly dramatic play. She’ll even shy away from bubbles if they come at her too many too fast. We have found a few things to work with her such as balloons, balls, abc’s, and animal books, but again getting her to engage is a challenge.
