The thing that's powerful about this scene, the white wolf knows Balto is part wolf, and he doesn't judge him, nor criticize him for who he is, the white wolf howls to try to stir the strength and leadership qualities wolves are famous for having, and that howl triggers Balto to remember what the goose had said earlier "A dog can't make this journey alone, but, maybe, a wolf can.", it's then Balto knows he can't hide from what he is, and the good qualities that come from his wolf lineage.

There's something else about that white wolf that I remembered learning from the second Balto movie. That wolf is actually a female wolf spirit, and she's also Balto's wolf mother. So this scene was a very strong because it wasn't just about him accepting his wolf heritage, but also that his mother was in way giving him encouragement, and the strength to keep going.

@@LilyRoseBecker Yes, Kyle Storsin is right. I was saying it was just something that I happened to recall from my childhood and why else it seemed also important why the white wolf showed up in this movie and in the sequel. Being half wolf is what made who Balto was and embrace those qualities. And one of the ones who helped him realize those things, is the white wolf spirit that just also happens to be his mother.

@@rashworth080 I also searched up balto and it seems that the real balto was actually 100% Siberian husky and was 0% wolf so that's something that the movie got wrong

@@LilyRoseBecker yep, the movie industries to do those kinds of thing just to make their stuff interesting, I'm just going by what saw in movies as a kid. The real Balto I saw in documentaries later on in life was indeed a real all Siberian husky with no known wolf traits at all.

Balto saved the medicine and the children from the horrible diphtheria outbreak. This may sound silly, but I was wondering what it would be like if I spoke to him in statue form about getting swine flu in which my mom had to buy medicine for me (e.g. Relenza at Walgreens on California Street). I'm sure that he won't mind for a dead heroic dog. LOL!

Recently I discovered the true none animated story of the dog sledding teams that delivered the antitoxin. Togo is a more accurate version of what happened in None Alaska in 1925.
