DRUMMERS! ...if possible, view this video in .75 or .50 speed. Enjoy!
Pearl Jam was out to lunch letting Dave go. He's One of The Greats.
He was The Heart Beat and Flavor of that band. Peart to Rush, Beauford to DMB,
Copland to The Police, Grohl to Nirvana, Kretz to STP.
- Out To Lunch.
1000% agree on this.
Truth!
@@t.sewell1513 100% True
Dave you are by far the greatest Pearl Jam drummer and one of the best drummers to come out of the 90s!
Still love for you to put some drums on some of my tunes so let me know if you’re interested.
Abbruzzesely glorious ❤
Wonderful. Guess what? Pearl Jam suck without you, but you knew this already. 😎
Cool more Dave a one of the best drummers ever
Yes sir! Love these damn videos. The side sticking sounded super solid!
Awesome drumming Dave Abbruzzese love your videos!! 🥁😊💓🤘✌️
Daves drumming is incredible. I see two splashes and a mini china and I wanna see em used !! ;)
Hey Dave, I just wanted to say your my favourite drummer. I love your work on the mtv unplugged concert, it makes me want to play drums everytime I watch it. Pearl Jam is not the same without you, Thanks.
So happy to see new videos
Power and finesse!
Slamming!!! That groove and the snare drum sound have created teutonic shifting all over the States Dave. Keep them coming Man!
Favorite drummer of all time. He has such a swagger to his playing.
Thank you!
Good one Sir. Can't wait for a next one.
When drumming without music is grooving, its level master 😁
Dave, everyone knows how magical you can make a band with your charismatic groove. The past is the past regarding PJ, but you're onto much greater things. Thank you for your inspiration.
Dave has always been my biggest inspiration. That’s why I’ve been playing DW for almost 30 years. The best drums ever.
Dave inspired me to play DW when I was young but I couldn’t afford them .
I bought my first DW in 07
I own two DW collectors kits now
I’ll never play anything else
Worth every single penny !!!
Thanks for sharing these Mr. Dave! Love those splash accents at the end.
Love it! What sticks are you using these days?
Siempre un gusto Señor Dave.
This reminds me of “dissident” from VS
true
Those Vic Firth headphones are the best.... I’ve owned several pairs myself 🔥✌️
My Master... See you and listen you is the best!
O cara é fera demais!
I like the way he turns the monitor level down at the end so the track/click doesn't bleed through the sustain of the kit and cymbals. Such a great drummer. I love Matt, but PJ lost their groove when they lost Dave.
Someone = what is happiness ?
Me = waiting to see what Dave's next task will be...😍🔫
I'm just blown away once again... I love this!
Dave, the best!!!
Dave, you're a huge inspiration. I'm still a drummer after 30 years because of you. Just found your channel and will be going through all of these vids. Thanks for putting great content out for your fans!
Power and finesse as always. Keep rocking brother.
the groove this guy can create out of nothing always blows me away
Purifying and very melodic!
Love you Dave you’re Amazing 😉 Bro & just had a baby boy over a year ago & named him David💯🥁😎👍🏼
Esse é fera! Estilo único!
That breathes so nicely... It's the air between those notes man!!! So nice!!! 👊👊👊
Glad you like it!
I've never seen someone hit splash and hi-hats at the same time. Interesting touch.
Solid Dave! 🤘🥁🤘DC
Dave A is as inspirational and influential as Sean Reinert and Gar Samuelson. The Legend.
Glad to see someone mention Gar. I feel he never gets enough credit.
That was fun to listen to
Thunderous 🤘
That snare has some serious pop love it overall drum sound deep n punchy PJ needs this
worst feeling ever is losing ability to play drums.
long story short,
i had lost my grandmother and then my son .
i gave up on life god n myself n went to portland where derpression got the best of me.
before long i iwas doin dope to cope w suicidal daily thoughts n not wanting to be here daily.
not fun .
.before all that i was a solid drummer
Dave was always my 2nd fave drummer of all time next to bonham .i could play all that stuuff but could never find guys that were into heavy rock music
i was always in solid shape n my core power n my size n reach were my advantage but after 3 yrs of living in mountains n on the portland streets w recurring mrsa n dope use id widdled down to skin n bones .
i remember being like that n getting to play drums oneday at sumones house after 4 yrs of not playing.
i felt i had lost it it al.
it felt foreign n i didnt feel the connection to the drums or music .
i cant articulate how that felt but it was the opposite of "good" .
this was a pivotal moment in my life .i had accepted the death of my loved ones n studied theosophy philosophy christianity psychology human behavior blahblah but i refused to accept the death of the passion for the drums i held in my soul.
i knew that was it for me if i let that slip away its all i got left n i knew it.
after that i quit cold turkey n hiked from portland to ashland where i spent a year sleeping outside n sobering up in a small community w some good hearted kind people .
got back in tune w myself w nature w humanity from living minimally n working on potfarms ect.
year n half later im back in shape now back in midwest kicked all my addict nihilist friends am sober n am back playing guitar and drums again.
i have been going to my local open stage thurs night .
at first i was rusty but now its coming back .
my music tastes are eclectic and diverse but im back to listening to Dave and early pearl jam and tho i have no drums n only get 20 mins a week to play live i use it as practice .
i just uploaded a 20 min impromptu zeppelin set on my channel .
we butchered trampled underfoot but i knew right then im gettin it back.
ill b uploading my thurs night jams .
im getting it back i am where i need to be .
ill never amount to shit success wise but i believe in myself and im getting older.
ive met a couple guys that r into Stooges early Floyd n we killed it live so im hoping to start a band soon.
i watched PJ 20 lastnight n waslike " wheres Dave?"
im back practicing daves drumlicks tapping on my kness w headphones n tho my friends make funa me for it
they dont laugh when i walk in n kill it live on thurs
im getting better every werk now im back to normal n im gonna become the best drummer i can be .
im still depressed n struggle w intense ptsd ect but playing drums again has given me purpose and a place inside myself where i see worth n a foundation to build myself back up from.
this is imperative to my survival its all i got left that i love in this life or extrapolate joy from.
when i play i feel normal n if im not i feel like a ghost .
the VS album n rearviewmirror in particular have lifted me up so many times over so many years .
ill b uploading every thurs now i intend to get better every week n im where i feel i can start doing this.
anyone else who plays drums at an open stage n is into daves drumming feel free to send me a link id love to checkout other drummers and correspond
i dont hangout w anyone im a hermit n music nerd
thanx dave n t
hanks everyone who comments i enjoi reading them n they give me the fuel i need to get thru the week
thanx guys
Thank you.
I'm glad you're back. Tough road to drive on. Even harder to reach your destination. Respect.
Thankyou.
Keep on riding the waves.
You are strong.

I was meaning the waves of depression and happyness, which indeed, is rough to go through.
I hope you're ok, actually..ja?
You're welcome
I’m Still sober and grateful to be my cardio is the best of my life the mountains are a good friend and teacher to me
I am going to be fishing and mushroom /dungeoness crab hunting the pacific nW weather has been tasty lately fersure
I love listening and watching! So musical and solid groove ❤
Pearl Jam were fools to have fired Dave. No disrespect for Jack Irons and Matt Cameron but Dave made them sound so good.
Dave has always rocked one of the funnest drum setups out there!
The "touch" Abbruzzese!
he's beaten the living hell out of that left side crash!
I wonder what sticks Dave is using nowadays. I started using the Promark Dave Abbruzzese signature stick (TX-2BLN) in 1996 and it's the only stick I've played since. When I found out they were being discontinued (circa 2005), I bought every pair I could find. Around 2012, I found a drum store in Germany had about 50 pairs left and I bought them immediately. They were probably the last pairs for sale anywhere. Well, I'm down to my last dozen pairs left and when they're gone, I'm going to have to retire from drumming.
🙌🏽
Dave, we all hope that you guys release an album and let us listenig to you guys play live. Will you? :-))
Power + ghost notes... all the ghost notes. Dude is a legend.
Wow! He's old now. Awewome drummer
It happens to us all! 54 to be exact!
Old? LOL
Sigue tocando con la misma fuerza y agresividad de siempre, lo que hubiera sido de Pearl Jam si Dave no se hubiera ido.
Great Dave....when is the release of this track thanks pal..
I imagine Nothing As It Seems with this drumming pattern.
Hell yeah
I imagine "Alive".. it fits perfectly
The only one ❤
Dropping bombs
Looking forward to the next Pseutopia release. 💖
Awesome!
This crash seems to have gotten used to Dave's strong hits and changed its shape.
cool
Come play with my band any time Dave!!!
What snare are you using here? Epic stuff
This is a Bo Swanger snare drum.
When will a whol ealbum drop Dave?!
This is what drumming is about..authority and groove..even though his cymbal work is a bit loud such as Kenny aronoff it's great
Bashing.
where are the bass drum triplets i grew up listening to?
They are in the songs that they belong in!
I play for the song. I don't make the song suffer trying to force bass drum triplets! 😁
Cymbal using make this drummer a great
es ALIVE disfrazado
PJ was incredibly better with him in the band.
He wasn't the drummer on Ten. PJ had their sound before he joined.
Tons put Neil Peart and Keith Moon at 1 & 2. I Say. Neil and Dave all. Said…
Maybe if Dave keeps working hard he'll get a job someday. I guess that job at McDonald's didn't work out.
Great to see you playing. Power and Groove for days!!
