Nocturne op.9 No2 is absolute fire
First time I listened to this.... I cried. But it wasn’t sadness... not joy either... A truly Indescribable feeling.
Beauty?
Sublimity
it was life
I'm a 74 year old guy and every time I listen to this tune, I cry. . EVERY TIME, for my entire life!
I LOVE it!
This is the music that plays during the credits when the world ends
The look on your face, that moment when something so beautiful takes hold and takes you on an amazing journey. Debussy's music is like that.
Any other classic songs I should listen to
@@worldofdevin Here's a short list. I hope you enjoy you enjoy them. I didn't want to overload you with choices.
Debussy: Reverie
Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun.
Arabesque.
Erick Satie : Once upon a time
In Paris.
Pachelbel: Canon in D Major

@@worldofdevin Louis Armstrong is amazing. Somewhere over the Rainbow, beautiful.

I know that face.
I have the same every time I hear Clair de lune.
Feels like being touched by the light.
Music knows no time and place.
I enjoyed your video very much and it made me very happy hat one of our compositors could bring so much emotion into the heart of a guy so many decades later, so many thousand miles away.
Greetings from a Frenchman
This and Erik Saties Gymnopédie No. 1 are musical masterpieces that sit on a tier of their own.
I love his gnossienne no. 1 so much too.
Also, Claire de Lune means “light of the moon.”
Oh, don't you say?
@@destbar6610 it’s for people who don’t know shut up
A better translation would just be “moonlight” but ye
This piece overwhelms me with its’ beauty and depth of emotion.
Such a beautiful, eloquent and sublime piece. I hired a concert harpist to play this at my sister's memorial service; it was such a beautiful tribute to her memory.
This is my favourite Debussy. I’ve heard a few versions but the piano is perfect. It almost sounds casual in the way it’s played.
There’s a few movie scores that I love as well. Danny Elfman’s The Finale from Edward Scissorhands is just wonderful and Samuel Barbers Adagio for strings is sublime and heart wrenching ♥️
That's right. You do not speak when this piece is playing.
I can understand why this piece is called Moonlight, because it sounds like moonlight raining down on you. I agree with you about the value of closing your eyes. I've always loved this, and I got the impression you did too. By classical music standards, it's fairly modern.
You picked a good first one.
my favorite piano piece.
Good job, friend -
Never stop discovering.
Trois Gymnopedies (all three)
by Eric Satie. I like the recording by the Camerata group.
I first became aware of this music when the rock band Blood, Sweat and Tears released one of the gymnopedies on one of their albums. Who'da thunk! I'll look for a link to the version i mentioned. There is a playlist in the description where you can select individual pieces.
Please check out the Gnossiennes on there, as well.
PS:
Eric Satie was Debusy's idol.

A good set of headphones brings out the best magic in music 🎶
This album was released when Moog was a new toy, and some of the pieces are hurt pretty badly by it, i think. But not all

Also, when they're playing again after the pandemic cools down, go see the Fresno Philharmonic in a live concert! (I know a couple of the double bass players in it.)
This song was made to make you release dopamine, most classical music is, but this one in particular is crazy
We can see you relaxing
Glad you liked it, it’s a beautiful and calming piece.
Here are some other suggestions, not exactly the same but branching out from this, starting with more piano music:
- Chopin, Ballade No. 1 (Valentina Lisitsa): ua-cam.com/video/bvtdjIIcgWQ/v-deo.html
- Ravel, “Jeux d’eau” (“Water Games”) (Martha Argerich): ua-cam.com/video/J_36x1_LKgg/v-deo.html
- Paganini/Liszt, “La Campanella” (Evgeny Kissin): ua-cam.com/video/0FbQZCsYXVg/v-deo.html
- Beethoven, Piano Sonata No. 21, “Waldstein” (Annie Fischer): ua-cam.com/video/uoOP1uTuZzA/v-deo.html
- Brahms, “Haydn” Variations (St. Anthony Chorale) for two pianos (Radu Lupu/Murray Periaha): ua-cam.com/video/MBrd-BVeWOY/v-deo.html (if you like this, this can be a transition to orchestral music by hearing the glorious orchestration of this piece, which Brahms also wrote, as played by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Leonard Bernstein: ua-cam.com/video/-FtF6zjFh9k/v-deo.html)

I'm not a fan of this specific performance actually (it plays around with timing too much, what's called "rubato" in the jargon) , but it's a great piece no doubt

That’s the exact reason I like it especially actually 😂
