Okay. Now that you've been introduced to Rabindrasangeet know about Rabindranath Thakur (Tagore in English), he was a legendary poet, novelist, song-writer, composer, play-write, illustrator, politician and the only recipient of the Nobel prize in literature in India. Also known as Bishwakabi, Kabiguru and occasionally the bard of Bengal Rabindranath Thakur wrote and composed around 2300 songs (including the national anthems of India and Bangladesh) and created thousands of poems, novel (Including Noshtonir which Charulata is based on which also has another song 'Ami chini go chini' by him), collections of short stories, plays, dance-drama, essays, translations of European literature, illustrations and established Bishwabharati University where stalwarts like 'Satyajit Ray' and 'Indira Gandhi' received education. There isn't a single human emotion that he hasn't touched with his writing. He was a man way ahead of his time. The timeless quality of his literature makes his every creation relevant till date. His words are like oxygen to us, I can safely say that if there is one God the entire Bengali community wirship it would be Rabindranath Thakur. One lifetime isn't enough to explore his work and contribution to art, culture and literature of Bengal and India. About this particular song, I am not very fond of this version because of the singer who generally sings covers of popular Hindi songs, he isn't a bad singer but just not fit for this in my opinion.

Hi guys, I am a director of some of Indian televisions biggest shows and I like watching your posts. I like Rick's knowledge of music and how he picks up quickly on the nuances of our music and yes Korbin does genuinely try which is more than what most people do. I am commenting for the first time because you guys have touched upon Rabindra Sangeet which is what almost all of us Bengalis have grown up on, esp us in our forties. Did you know that Rabindranath Tagore had no formal education in either music or in any form of education beyond class 4 which is about the age of 8 or 9. And he invented Rabindra Sangeet, INVENTED being the key word because he wrote a grammar for the music and not just the songs. The grammar of Rabindra Sangeet is it's own, neither does it follow Western classical nor hindustani nor Carnatic ... also do try listening to Hemant kumar for Rabindra Sangeet the way it's supposed to be Thought you guys should know

This version of 'Tumi robe nirobe' is bad honestly.
@@paramitanandi8137 I understand and I completely agree ... We tried. Those got copyrighted or blocked because they were under music labels like Saregama or Asha Audio. Given Sanam's popularity we thought it was the best option.
@@paramitanandi8137 also most of the artists that you mentioned don't have music videos. They have the audios only. They can't react to that. George Biswas and Sraboni Sen are my favourite but they don't have videos.
Some of them has live performances. Particularly lives of Shreya Guhathakurata are amazing. Also, soundtracks of films are there. There's a chance of copyright strikes with those I guess. I would suggest soundtrack of 'Noukadubi', 'Chirosokha he' from Chatuskone next.
Rabindra sangeet has really grown on me as one of the Indian genres that I like. There's just something about it, after listening to so many younger & older artists alike doing covers. It's nice to see Tagore's legacy still going strong. Sanam is one of my fav pop groups too. From what I can tell, they normally sing in Hindi but do have a repertoire of Bengali & other languages.
I proud that i am from bengali culture😃😃😃
Korbin..hats off to you for editing the videos and uploading them during our time (india time). And I have seen other reaction channels too..but they dont stand anywhere close to you..the comparison is not fair in itself..you 2 rock. Love you both heaps

Rabindranath wrote almost a century ago but his words and music is timeless, unparalleled. We Bengali carry Rabindranath and his songs with us 24/7. May watch a movie Kadambini on the basis of one part of his life story.
The lyrics will definitely touch your heart as it is penned and composed by the legendary Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore.
Finally you are reacting to Sanam!!! I thought I am going to get grey hairs before you do that 😂😂😭
The lyric was first written as a poem. It was in a collection of poems named "Smaran/Remembrance" written in memory of his wife just after her death! It's considered one of his best composition!

You should also react to 'amar mallika bone' by sanam.....that is also a beautiful Rabindra shangeet....and as always Sanam nailed it ❤
Yes that's too great
Oh man! sanam did a really good rendition it seems :)
The lyrics and the music is by first Indian nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore himself. He's also a Bengali. This song is in Bengali.
Most interesting thing about SANAM singing this rabindro songeet that he is not Bengali, he is Punjabi. But I being a Bengali can tell how pitch perfect he was in this song and how accurate his pronunciation and the accent of Bengali. He has also sang many songs in different languages also like English, Spanish should check it out❤️ you would love it
Very very good song ,and nice, I am bangle from West bengal ,think you,😂😂😂😘😘😂🙏🙏🙏🙏
Please react to Main Hoon by Sanam from Spider Man

It's a Bengali song,I am bangali.thanks for watching this bengali song 🥰🥰
The grammar of Rabindra Sangeet is it's own, neither does it follow Western classical nor hindustani nor Carnatic ... also do try listening to Hemant kumar for Rabindra Sangeet the way it's supposed to be
Thought you guys should know
Proud Bengali..❤️❤️of our culture and Tagore❤️
Finally, you are reviewing Tagore’s composition. Thanks a lot.
