I just finished The Butcher of the Forest last night, really enjoyed it! The author did a phenomenal job of nailing the atmosphere in such a short title/, very eerie, dreadful & surreal. Wonderful stuff!
I can't wait to hear what you think about books 7-9 of The Expanse series! When I finished book 6 and found out that there's a time jump before the next one, for some reason my reaction was 'well, everyone is going to be old and boring, so I'm not reading the next trilogy'. It took me at least a couple of years to reconsider, and now it's actually my favourite trilogy out of all. It's especially impressive that the authors managed to absolutely stick the landing with the last book, which isn't easy with such a long series.
For April I read: A History of Modern Japan: Making of a Nation 1850s to Present, Case Files of Jeweler Richard vol 7, A Thousand Autumns vol 4, Story Thieves: Secret Origins, Japanese Porn Industry Unmasked: An Insider's Guide, The Disabled Tyrant's Beloved Pet Fish vol 1, and the SOS Hotel novellas 1 & 2, and The Personal Cybersecuriry Manual. Also read some BL manga.
Licanius improves a lot in the following books. The overall writing quality and story cohesiveness have a very noticeable increase in quality in book 2.
I finally read The Fragile Threads of Power and I really enjoyed it! Hopefully we don't have to wait too long before the next book... And Severance sounds really interesting! I also want to read more sci-fi so the Expanse series might be something for me then, it sounds really cool
I had a great reading month The witching hour by Anne rice book 1 in the mayfair series The way I am now by amber Smith Her too by bonnie kistler Lizzie Blake's best mistake by mazey eddings Out of shape by gracie gold memoir Miss memory lane by colton Haynes memoir One summer in Savannah by terah shelton Harris Stars in your eyes by kacen callender Pack up the moon by kristan Higgins Happy place by Emily Henry Divine rivals by rebecca ross This could be us by Kennedy Ryan Saving 6 by chloe Walsh
I picked up Miracle Creek after you reviewed it and I'm about 2/3 through it. Really liking it, especially since it's set in the northern Virginia area where I live. When I read a little about the author I thought, "I wonder if she lives in Annandale?" (a town just outside DC with a very large Korean population) and then it was interesting that Annandale was one of the settings mentioned in the story!
@@tonibienbecksame here, I also had very high expectations because this book was hyped up so much 🥲 but I found it hard to connect with the characters and care about them 😅
I really really wanted to like Miracle Creek, but as an autistic person I was so angered by how it pathologized autism that I couldn't get through more than a few chapters. :( So disappointing.
You have such a beautiful voice and the way you speak and pronounce is very engaging ❤️
aww I agree
completely agree ☺️
@morksuggan exactly!
I just finished part two of the Nevermoor series that I started after your recommandation and I love it so much!

I picked up Dragonfruit by Makiia Lucier in April, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it!

Reading Severance messed me up a little bit because it was too accurate to stuff that happened in 2020 but it was written in like 2018 😬

unfortunately I was a little disappointed with the familiar but it‘s nice to see that you liked it :) and the other books sound intriguing!
Same! But my expectations were really really high because Six Of Crows is one of my favorite books, so maybe that influenced my reading experience...
