I started listening to Jeff Durbin and Apologia evangelizing videos a few days after getting saved (6 months ago), while I was trying to figure out if I had lost my mind. The way Jeff lays out the gospel is very refreshing and encouraging for ex-Mormon Christians like me. Thanks Pastor Jeff!
you are wonderful. You bring back such tough feelings from when we left the church and lost everything and everyone we loved. Hearing you brings such love for them again.
Thank you for the truth, God Bless you! An ex-Mormon who knew nothing about any religion when I joined the Mormon church, , I was very ignorant, I was sadly deceived by the Mormon Church, but I have found the true God!
Awesome! Thank you for all teachings and all the argumenting with the mormons! I live in Sweden, am a musician and a Christian, we have a LDS temple here and by "chance" I got to play at a party where there are like 800 mormons speeddating for a week and we got to play some covers for one of the evenings. I got to know a bunch of mormons, since then I've read the Book of Mormon and been watching all the videos. A friend of mine have been witnessing to them for a few years and I hope I can join him and show them who Christ really are. Thank you!
Fascinating! I truly appreciate all that Jeff has learned about Mormonism, for the sake of Mormons. He knows more than most Mormons... definitely a lot that I knew as a Mormon.
when my mom wanted to know if the Mormon church was true she asked God for a sign. She got an electric shock that threw her back. She, therefore, knew without a doubt it was true and fought my father for years about it. Then when GOD revealed to her that the devil can give signs she got sick and realized it was the devil that shocked her. She finally found the true gospel and we all left Mormonism together. It was the hardest thing we ever had to do.
I think you should keep your imagination in check Sis. Satan cannot go around electrocuting people or we would all be having a very shocking time on a daily basis. Although...... Its not impossible for the Lord. The signs Satan can manipulate are not physical. :>)
Katherine, cool story. I asked for a sign that Katherine Woodrum is a liar and then I farted really loudly. My tummy felt better so I knew that Katherine was a liar. So now I avoid Katherine and Taco Bell from now on............
Katherine Woodrum. The way you describe this is sadly why so many people believe the Book of Mormon is true. My dad had a similar experience except he described a burning in his chest. The Bible talks about testing the Spirits and that Satan can look like a angel of light. In the book of Job Satan was able to do all kinds of things to Job, his family, his servants and his animals. Even with the weather. At other parts in the Bible it talks about God sends a strong delusion for the person to believe in a lie. So are feelings and even spiritual experiences don't always mean something is of God or is true. We have to to search the Bible all of the Bible to see if in fact our feelings or spiritual experiences are in line with what the Bible says. Also look at Mormon church history outside of what Mormonism teaches, read about Joseph Smiths background outside of what the Mormon church says as well. If the truth is truly what a person is after they need to make sure if what Mormonism is what it claims to be. And be willing to leave it once the evidence shows its not of God. I was a Mormon for over 30 years and I denounced Mormonism about 6 years ago. Now I study theology and I'm a true Christian now. and like you it was the hardest thing I ever went through.
Could I ask one Question who would go to heaven? Those that shot Joseph Smith in cold blood or Joseph Smith claiming he saw God the Father and his son Jesus Christ? What did Joseph Smith have to gain? Just a thought if you say God may have willed it? That will be an interesting God if you think God allows men to take there own beliefs and expressing it by taking the lives of another individual for their beliefs...
Man.. Jeff.. I've watch this video many times, and I'm ever so grateful for your tenacity for our Mormon family. Thank you for this video. I am again prepared to share the true gospel with Mormons.
Awwwesome!!!! Well done. Great work you are doing there Jeff. We need to call the lost sheep out of that church. The sheep will come out, as many have up until this day, so we need to keep calling out to them. Sadly but truthfully those that do not leave that religion are lost anyway and were destined to be lost. God bless you! Praise and glory to the Lord!!
You don't understand what Jeff actually believes. As a 5-point Calvinist, he believes that no matter how much preaching is done, God long ago decided who he was sending to hell without any regard to their willingness to listen or not. In fact, God made everyone unwilling to listen. God made everyone hate God. God made everyone evil. God made all men perform evil acts. Then God judges them for the evil they perform. So men hate God because God hated them first. God, in Jeff's warped Calvinst world, does not love the world, only loves a few people he has chosen without any regard to their personal character whatsoever. In other words, they won the eternal lottery, and everyone else, the majority of humanity, was created so that Jeff's Calvinst perversion of a Bible distorted God, is "glorified in the suffering and destruction of the wicked". Jeff believes that. And if you believe that, you are as sick as Jeff's philosophy is too.
Yikes. Serious!? That's pretty creepy. He is more anti-Mormon than I thought then and the God he believes in couldn't be more opposite. I come here for the comments and ALWAYS mute the videos.. any "preacher" who professes to know more & "preach" more about what others believe in than what He believes, isn't one to really be listened to. Also..he's just really naggy and annoying.
Probably the most perfect sermon ever preached, outside of Christ! I love mormons so much! I plan to use this video as a teaching tool to reach out to them. God bless everyone!
When Mormons refer to Jesus Christ, they referring to a Mormon jesus who is Satan’s brother and they are not the only sons of the Mormon so-called heavenly father, who, according to Joseph Smith, founder of Mormonism, and Brigham Young, 2nd true Mormon false prophet, is a Mormon polygamist exalted man god and has many sons, daughter and goddess wives according to Smith and Young. Mormons have a different god, a different Jesus, a different gospel, and a different message than the Bible and Christians. Suffice it to say, Christians are not Mormon and Mormons are not Christian.
Great video, Jeff, and your efforts to evangelize the Mormon communities is greatly appreciated. I've also found an extremely easy way to dispel any false Mormon doctrine through explaining to them the 400+ verses that describe, state, and use the descriptions of creation in context and in prophesy concerning the 'day of the Lord'. Blessings
PRAISE GOD FOR YOUR LIFE, YOU HAVE BEEN RAISED FOR SUCH A TIME AS THESE... Polynesians NEEDS THE BIBLICAL HISTORICAL JESUS CHRIST OF THE BIBLE for any other jesus is man's ideas!!!
Jeff thank you for your passion and commitment. I am spending a lot of time taking notes on this message. I admire what you’re doing. Most Christian pastors just preach to their congregation...of already saved Christians. I love that you’re putting time and energy into reaching other religions/beliefs/institutions. I’m learning so much and will be prepared for discussions with Mormons I encounter throughout life.
Christ's church is on the earth today! He loves us today just as He did in bible times. And He speaks to us today through His spirit and through a called prophet of God. Study the church that Paul established in the New Testament. It was the church of Jesus Christ in bible times and today it is the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. They are the same.
This has moved me. So good Jeff, again man. Thank you. This is so good. All Glory to God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. I am going to take the Gospel to Mormons. I have alot of reading and preparing and training and praying to do but this makes me want to help in the fight and plead for their souls. Glory to God!
@@amandablakely7702 Hello. I no longer operate a Calvinist ministry. I am a Cathecumen in the Orthodox Church. My journey has been truly life changing. Jesus Christ is the Way the Truth and the LIFE.
@@TheDroc1990 that's cool, I don't consider myself a calvinist either. I was just encouraged by your zeal to reach Mormons. The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few!
Your voice is true, non judgmental. Please continue to fight for the truth. I live in Salt Lake. I see the followers I hear the love for Christ I struggle deeply about what really happens to their souls. I tried to talk to them and always seems to turn around to defend that they LOVE Christ and believe they are correct. Joseph is a false profit. Book of Mormon mimic of the Bible. They belive Jesus and Satan brothers. How can you even say that if you are a true Christian. Wow they don't know God. THEY DONT KNOW JESUS. So hard for me to understand them. Please keep speaking. You are being used by God. AMEN
Matthew 7:22 Many will say to Me in that Day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name, and in Thy name have cast out devils, and in Thy name done many wonderful works?’23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Naming the church the Church of Jesus Christ is no guarantee for it being true just as Jesus says I never knew you.
Hugh Christian Thanks Hugh!! The bible tells the whole story there is no more. No angels coming with other gospels needed. GALATIANS 1:8 But should we, or an angel from Heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached to you, let him be accursed.
+Glenda McLachlan I personally love these verses. It sheds great light on the knowledge of the Apostles of the impending apostasy in the church. In verses 6-7, he says " I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ." As members of the LDS church, we know that there was a great falling away and that people were turned away from the gospel. The restoration involving the administration of angels restored the same gospel that was being taught by the Apostles. Thus we completely agree with the verses.
+Glenda McLachlan The matter of the Book of Mormon being "Another Testament of Jesus Christ" only confirms that it is the same gospel. It is the gospel of Jesus Christ, not the Bible that people should not add too nor change. The Bible didn't even exist when the New Testament writers were sending their letters. The Book of Mormon is a strong testimony of Jesus Christ that He is our Savior and Redeemer. It clearly and concisely teaches many times that we must have faith and repent, be baptized by someone who has authority to do so and receive the Holy Ghost. The Book of Mormon contains stories and events that are not in the Bible, but that is because it is not the Bible, yet the doctrines are 100% pure and Christian.
The BofM does not even have the same doctrines as the D&C let alone the bible. Go do some study first. @@groovies1000 Joseph Smith and every LDS prophet since him have preached a gospel of “do,” negating the gospel of “done” that Jesus preached and was. The LDS church is all about what it and its members must still do and be if they want to live with God (and be a god) one day. The true church is all about proclaiming what Christ has DONE to make us right with God now for all eternity. It’s a certainty. Jesus Christ canceled the record of debt that was held against us. All you need to do is accept Christ by faith. It isn't because of who you are and what you have done for God. It is because of who He is and what He did for you in sending Jesus to be the sacrificial offering for your sins. To be your substitute on the cross and to satisfy the demands of God's law that stands against you. Christ has done the one work that was necessary to reconcile you to God. Christ has done the one act of righteousness that could bring justification and life to all men. All Christ is asking with open arms is for you to lay down your religiosity and works at the foot of the cross and allow Christ to take it. Salvation is quite simple. Luke 18 And He also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt: 10 “Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I get.’ 13 But the tax collector, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, the sinner!’ 14 I tell you, this man went to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
The best way to learn about The Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints..... Is not through Jeff Durbin its by reading The Bible & The Book of Mormon- another testament of Jesus Christ. and lots of time on your knees in humble prayer!
I learn so much from Jeff and Dr. White. One of my favorite chats was with Kwaku. I've tried to leave comments on his site but he only lets through pro-Mormonism comments. It was sad to see him being so disrespectful after being so smarmy during the discussions. Jeff has a great way of deescalating situations.
I have an uncle who has been in the LDS church for 50+ years, baptized at age 14. I have tried talking with him several times, and even shown him this video, which he claimed to have watched in it's entirety. Asking him about this video afterward, he was baffled by it, saying 'there was just something not right about that guy', he was 'up to something', 'he was NOT a spiritual person. Basically, everything Jeff Durbin said just went right over his head. He loves the Mormon church and even told me point blank he would rather take a bullet to his head than leave it. He has been so institutionalized by the LDS church that I don't know if there's anything else I can say to him. I believe the only thing that will shake him up is a powerful encounter with the truth, so I just continue to pray for that. Mormons don't believe Jesus was/is God, therein lies the problem, and their salvation has to start with that realization, I think. Anyone have any tips???
If he is genuinely happy then let him be. Stop. You talking to him more than you already have will not do any good. He will need to see the same message said by others for him to consider it
*+ Sarah Kay* *"Please Father ,Let them hear Your words and not their feelings or mans words ."* I always appreciate prayers on my behalf. And, if I may tell you something, I heard God's words years and years ago. That's why I have a sure knowledge that God knows who we are and listens to our prayers. Have you ever experienced a witness from the Holy Ghost? That's what God uses at times when answering prayers. Most of the time the answer comes via what the Old Testament refers to a the "still, small voice" (1 Kings 19:12) telling us what to do. Sometimes however, the answer is much more powerful. I asked if you've ever had a witness from the Holly Ghost. I have, and it's something I'll remember for the rest of my life. It was like being bathed from within by an intense spiritual light, so powerful that there was absolutely no doubt in my mind as to who the witness was coming from. And that's as close as I can come to explaining it. As an addendum to that, on the rare occasion that I've shared my experience with others, some individuals have attempted to claim that it could have been Satan who answered my prayer. That is totally not correct. How do I know? Because a sincere prayer to God beginning with "Father in heaven" or something similar, and ending "in the name of Jesus Christ, amen" is not going to be answered by Satan. God will not allow it. Millions of LDS are LDS today because they followed Moroni's admonition in the Book of Mormon (Moroni 10:4-5) to read the Book of Mormon and pray sincerely about it. I'm one of those who did. One last thing. You impress me as being a good person. Many self-proclaimed Christians, instead of praying for Mormons, are usually condemning us to hell (which they don't have the authority to do nor the wisdom to make that call anyway). Here's my question. What would it hurt you to actually read the Book of Mormon, then pray sincerely about it? If nothing else, you will certainly gain a better understanding about what we _really_ believe, instead of the baloney the anti-LDS folks claim. Regardless, have a good one.
@@jedimormon4536 Your description of being blessed with the Holy Ghost is correct. I had exactly the same experience. I started my prayer with Our Father in Heaven. I thanked Him for something. Then asked Him for something. I ended the prayer im the name of Jesus Christ. I got my answer 20 hours later. Praying to our Father in Heaven is the correct way to pray. If it were not i would not have the strong testimony i have today. The Latterday Saints have a faith in Christ. Every single one of them. They know the gospel of Christ. They.live by.it. They are Christians, as all other denominations are. When you are told otherwise, you are being lied to. The guy in this.video is a big mouth. Not a.spiritual person. He is not humble. @@jedimormon4536 “What would it hurt you to actually read the BoM, then pray sincerely about it?” Okay, first issue with that is we are not to lend ourselves to false doctrine. Don’t play with fire and such. Secondly, LDS folks read a lot more and have a lot more in their canon than even the BoM. And if we’re not called to be witnesses to the LDS population then it’s of no help to us, but in fact harm to us to read a lot of excess that’s already in the Bible. I appreciate your kindness in approaching us. I’ve seen too many people thanking Mormons who’ve left the church by saying ‘Thank you for leaving my church so I didn’t have to kick you out.’ And I know that’s not how LDS members act in the real world, generally. I will pray for you as well! This is an old comment but it still nagged at me to respond to it. I love you. And I’ll pray for us both to find truth and Jesus on our walks.
Good teaching. The Hebrew Shema is "Sh'ma Yisrael Adonai Elohenu Adonai Echad" - not Yahvay, Also the first of the Ten Commandments is “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery." It is a declaration. “You shall have no other gods before me" is part of the 2nd commandment according to the Torah scrolls.
God bless you. I know the love we have for the lds people and that we want them so bad to see the truth of the gospel, but I find two things work against it the most, one they are convinced the burning in the bosom came from God and two they are not dumdstrocked when faced with bible verses that contradicts their beliefs because they have been taught the bible has been chaged. As difficult as it is to show a mormon the true gospel, I love it that it is like that because it is the work of God and nothing is impossible for Him.
+Domino C All we can do is tell them, the rest is up to God. I am working on a co worker too, also my father and my sister, let's pray God open their eyes.
+Domino C Wow, I can imagine how important this is to you. Also for a mormon to reach exaltation and become a god one day, they need to be married, just be careful. One good thing is they are very family oriented people though. I hope the best in your relationship and that eventually she believes the true Jesus.
hey guys I was in a Mormon Church of Latter Day Saints of Jesus Christ and I didn't know it was a Mormon church so I'm not going anymore because I also found out some secrets about them that they did in the past and they still do today I'm not a member I was just visiting Pastor Jeff or anybody in this chat can you give me advice which church I should go to that teaches the true gospel and Jesus is teachings I live in Stockton
I am so thankful to hear this and I hope this will be of help to you. If you are referring to Stockton California, I found a church that teaches the bible well in your area and holds to all the same major teachings you heard in this message. www.bethanybaptistchurchstocktonreformed.org
+Jonathan Knight If that specific church doesn't work, here's a list of good ones in CA. www.reformedreader.org/rbcalifornia.htm Gotta go to bed now, lol.
Look, the bottom line is that the LDS church teaches (and has always taught) another God, Jesus, and Gospel than those found in the Bible. The point here is not to be unkind, but rather to draw clear distinctions so that a dialogue about real differences, differences with eternal consequence, is actually possible. Why does it matter? In John 17:3,. Jesus says, "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." John 14:6 reads, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." So, eternal life consists of knowing the one true God, and the only way to come to Him is through Jesus (the one true Jesus, that is). If you have the wrong God and the wrong Jesus, you are lost. It's really that simple.
Ever since Joseph received revelation from God people have condemn him by saying that there can not be any more revelation from God we have the Bible and that is all we need. By doing so they have denied Jesus’s prophesies because Jesus prophesies can only come by revelation. I want to share my testimony with you. I know that Jesus kept his promise when he said that he would restore his Church in the last days. That church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is the only Church that Jesus is using to bring to pass the fulfillment of Bible prophesies. No other Christian denomination has ever claimed the fulfillment of prophesies. I know that Jesus cannot lie. I testify to you that this is true in the name of Jesus Christ.
Out of curiosity, where do you see Jesus making prophecy of the restoration of the church, and why do you believe Joseph Smith and the LDS church is the fulfillment of that prophecy? I genuinely look forward to your response =)
Why do you think Gods standard is so high 100% BECAUSE God's prophets get it right 100% of the time because God knows it will come to pass and come true.... False prophets get it wrong BUT not God's true prophets that's why God's standard for us to test a prophet is 100% HE KNOWS TRUE PROPHET'S GET IT RIGHT AND FALSE PROPHETS GET IT WRONG AND THAT'S WHY WE CAN TEST THEM AND KNOW BEYOND A SHADOW OF A DOUBT USING GODS STANDARD FOR A PROPHET OURSELVES.... IF YOU AREN'T CHECKING TRUTH DOESN'T MATTER TO YOU. THOSE ON THE SIDE OF TRUTH LISTEN TO JESUS
+Paul Dunn Easy does it =) I'm still looking forward to why Brian believes what he does. So how 'bout it Brian? These things are obviously very important, and worth talking about.
Michael Hill I want to share with you a pattern that God uses. In the Old Testament we have Prophets prophesying of things to happen e.g. Isaiah 7: 14. So how do we know that prophesy was fulfilled? We have the New Testament Prophets testifying of the fulfillment (Matt. 1:20-25.) We know that all of God’s prophecies will be fulfilled. The pattern is we need true Prophets to tell us when all the prophesies have been fulfilled. Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. The fulfillment of prophecy Amos 8:11 ¶Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord: Then there is a restoring of his word Act 3: 21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. Revelation 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, The Angel had to go to some one. Who? Joseph Smith is the only person that has received an Angel with the everlasting gospel. FULFILLMENT Matt:16 18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Ephesians 4: 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; FULFILLMENT Micah 4:1 But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it. FULFILLMENT Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: Matt. 17: 11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. 12 But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them. 13 Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist. John the Baptist prepared the people when Jesus first started teaching the gospel and he also help prepared Jesus second coming. ( D&C 13: 1)( JSH 72) FULFILLMENT Mal.3: 1 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts. Who is this messenger? Who will prepare Jesus’s second coming? What temple? Mal. 4: 5 ¶Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: 6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse. (Who will Elijah go to, this has to happen before Jesus comes?) (D&C 110:13) FULFILLMENT Isa. 29: 11 And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed: 12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned. (JS History 64) Fulfillment 13 ¶Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: (Jesus fulfilled this prophecy when he talked to Joseph smith in the grove JS History 19) 14 Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid. (This is being fulfilled in which you can read it in the D& C 4: 1, 6:1, 11:1, 12:1, 14:1, Matthew 18:16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. The Book of Mormon is a fulfillment of Bible prophecy, it is the second witness of Jesus Christ. Ezekiel 37:16 Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions: Ezekiel 37:19 Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand. Fulfillment The Bible and the B of M are one in mine hand. Revelation 5:1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. Has this scripture been fulfilled ? How will you know? I understand there are many churches but none of these church’s have ever claimed any fulfillment of prophecy The difference with the LDS Church is it is built on revelation just as was in the New Testament when Jesus went to Heaven he still worked with his Apostles through revelation. (Matt. 16: 18) Jesus said that he would build his church. So it seems reasonable that Jesus would use his church to preform the miracles of fulfilling the prophecies.
Matthew 16:15 He saith unto them, But whom SAY YE that I AM? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the LIVING GOD. 17 And JESUS answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18 And I SAY ALSO unto thee, That thou art Peter, and UPON THIS ROCK 《 I will BUILD MY CHURCH》; AND THE ■GATES OF HELL SHALL NOT PREVAIL AGAINST IT.■ 19 And《■ I Jesus? ■》 will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. ###TO say Christs church AND the keys of the kingdom of heaven had to be restored to earth is to say Jesus Christ is mistaken or lying. Is that what you and your church is saying ABOUT JESUS and his CHURCH. ...
*"Do Mormons believe in the Jesus Christ presented in the Bible?"* Well ... since the bible is very much a part of official Mormon doctrine, I'd say they do. In fact, everything the Book of Mormon says about Jesus Christ and his teachings, the Bible agrees with.
JediMormon DOES THE BOOK OF MORMON SAY THAT JESUS IS SATANS BROTHER ? And that Jesus is just one of many Gods and that You Can become a God No it does not You know that the church doctrines are not contained in the Book of Mormon either that or you Know nothing about MORMONISM YOU MIGHT Also WANT TO LOOK UP WHAT GORDON HINCKLEY THE PAST PROPHET OF THE CHURCH SAID HE SAID WE DO NOT BELIEVE IN THE JESUS OF THE BIBLE Remember that !!! So how is it a Mormon prophet says that Mormons don't believe in the Jesus of the Bible yet you say they do I would say that a Prophet of the Mormon church has more Authority on what mormons beliefs are than you or are you going to Go against what The Prophet said ?
JediMormon Mark 22:23 Christ says that at the resurrection people will be like angels in heaven None Shall marry nor be given up in marriage and that our Earthly marriages do not carry over into heaven. But as a Mormon you don't believe that. you believe that Christ lied when he said that in marriages do carry over into heaven
JediMormon Isaiah 43:10 before me there was no God formed neither shall there be after me. Isaiah 44:8 is there another God besides me? I know not one. Revelation 1:8 I am the first and the last the alpha the Omega
In true Christianity your faith in Jesus Christ is what transforms you and then you rely on him, and him alone, not Joseph Smith or another MAN to tell you how to live your life. There are so many crazy things the "LDS prophets" have said and done and yet they put these men on pedestals instead of focusing the people on Jesus Christ.
? He quoted from Romans 3 in reference to himself. “There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one. for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God Arrogance?
+Darin Hibbert Yes, my comment was unclear. Of course not against the Scripture, but the arrogance of discrediting another's faith. It's self serving hubris. See Jesus' response to the Pharisees and try Luke 9:49-50...Jeff is fighting the wrong fight against the wrong "enemy"
And he said unto me: Behold there are save two churches only; the one is the church of the Lamb of God, and the other is the church of the devil; wherefore, whoso belongeth not to the church of the Lamb of God belongeth to that great church, which is the mother of abominations; and she is the whore of all the earth. (1 Nephi 14:10) Joseph is calling ever church other than his "of the devil" So is Joseph Smith hubris? Joseph Smith said “I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him; but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet...When they can get rid of me, the devil will also go." (History of the Church, Vol. 6, p. 408, 409) Look Jeff and Christians as myself are simply doing as Jude said in verse 22 "And on some have compassion, making a distinction; but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire." We are discrediting a religion but don't want to destroy there faith.
+Timothy Shrout if we are commanded to contend earnestly for the faith, and to be watchful not only for ourselves but for our fellow believers against false Christs and false teachers, how is this self serving? We are trying to serve God in doing so so that those that are lost in the LDS faith can see how they have been deceived and how they can come to know the real Jesus and the real gospel lest they perish in hell for eternity.
I heed Jude's guidance to contend earnestly for the faith by discussing this with you. I love your ardent faith! Your trust and faith in God and Our Savior is commendable; however, our job was never to save anyone from Hell, that is the work of God through the power of the Holy Spirit. There is no precedent for your approach and you certainly won't find it in the message of Jesus. He reserved his harshest condemnation for people that...well, did what you are doing. You object to people following a different Jesus "formula" than you believe, therefore, you have cast them into Hell. Your approach is from a perspective that is completely on your terms so you can throw as many "gotcha's" at them as possible. Jesus' greatest commandments were what? "Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, soul, mind, and strength. And love your neighbor as yourself." Luke 10:27. Pretty clear. Many Mormons meet that command, and some Baptists might too (ha). Do Mormon's believe some different things? Of course! Just like many do with their unbiblical Bibliolotry that would have seemed strange to most Christians who have ever lived. "What father among you..." Luke 11:11. C'mon man...Peace....
Russell M. Nelson - "Be patient with yourself. Perfection comes not in this life but in the next life. Don’t demand things that are unreasonable, but demand of yourself improvement. As you let the Lord help you through that, he will make the difference." This is what our church teaches. God expects us to work towards perfection. Matthew 7:21 -" Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."
Mormonism isn't Christianity, although they do use Christian terms. The God of Mormonism is an exalted man with other gods as parents. The God of the bible is unique and eternal, with no parents. Isaiah 43 "Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me." There are so many simple truths in the Bible that Joseph Smith rejected in the Mormon religion of his own creation. There are whole chapters in the Bible warning of false prophets. Mormons ignore biblical warnings time and time again. Even the profession of Joseph Smith before he became the false prophet was an abomination. Looking into the earth with an allegedly magic peep stone is forbidden divination. Mormons treat it like it was normal. This is how good people are beguiled into a false church.
The teachings of the Mormon religion do not conflict with the Bible. We just don't believe that The Bible is the only source of truth but we have never ignored the Bible. The Bible was written for the people of this Earth and the people of earth have no other God. You are beguiled into lies about Joseph Smith.
I just gave you a contradiction and you said nothing about it. God says in Isaiah that there were no gods before Him and that there would be none after them. Mormonism teaches that there is a heavenly father and mother and that they had heavenly parents again. The Pearl of Great Price, the Mormon Endowment ceremony teach that God was once as we are now and that through a similar plan of salvation He became exalted, just like His parents. "“As man now is, God once was: “As God now is, man may be." Mormons call it "eternal progression". The Bible says there is and always has been one God. Mormonism teaches that God was once a man and that members who go to the Celestial Kingdom can become gods. No Emmy, that doesn't agree with the Bible.
"You said nothing about it." Read my post again but I will just state it here again. I said that the Bible was written for people of the earth. There is only one God for us. Therefore, the Bible doesn't contradict our teachings. No matter how many people that either have lived on this earth, do or will live on this earth cna someday become a god they will never be our god. In Isaiah, Jesus was stating that there has never been or will be another Savior for us. This is true! Mormons believe this. There is no other way. He is the only way to God. Mormons do not contradict the Bible and we are Christians.
The God of the Bible is the only one. Period. The end. He says that no god was formed before Him, there will be no God after Him and He knows no other gods and he has always been God from eternity to eternity. You can't be Christians when you believe in strange gods. To claim that God was ever anything less than God is heresy. Mormons also believe that Jesus is a spiritual brother to us and to Satan, whereas the Bible says that Satan was a fallen angel. The Mormon claim that God had parents when God says that He has never known any other gods is blatantly false and I reject the Mormon imagination that God was lying in the Bible.
I'd give all I own for Jeff to come teach this to my family. ALL of them are trapped in the cult. Please pray for the Dansie family to be delivered out from their deceit. They won't hear it from me. I have found joy and peace in Christ Jesus, but my heart is in a constant state of fear for them.
I grew up Mormon and quit when I was around 16 years old and have no desire to return. My family is still mostly all Mormon and strong believers... I have a theory (if I take the likely approach that there is other extra-terrestrial life in the universe), I often wonder if Joseph Smith possibly DID in fact meet some type of intelligent life at the 'sacred grove', and if so perhaps he met up with these lifeforms that were not from around here, who fed him full of all the lies to prepare Earthlings for some type of re-visitation at a later time (like beings who are planning to return as what the Bible declares as the anti-christ or something). If that were the case, then perhaps Joseph truly did believe that he saw what he saw for that time he claims to be in communication with the strange beings he thought were Heavenly Father, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost... Food for thought, God bless!
+Samsonite801 Did you know there are lots of versions of Joseph Smith's first vision? This event took place in 1820, yet the account that is used in Joseph Smith History was not written until 1838. The very first known written account was recorded second hand in the year 1823 and describes Joseph riding a horse with a box containing a toad on his lap. This toad then transforms into a spirit man and strikes Smith across the head with a stick twice. Joseph did not make any written accounts himself until 1832. His first one describes a singular trinity type god appearing to him. Three years later he makes two more written accounts describing many angels appearing to him. And three more years later he writes that there was only two spirit persons, Jesus and the Father, that appeared to him. When a person tells a story that changes every time it is told, its really hard to take that person seriously.
+Caleb Joseph didn't "change" his stories. I have read each account, I would say they are quite consistent and provide more beautiful detail with each account. You still did not approach the fact that Paul has 4 completely different accounts of his vision.
I left mainstream Christianity and have never been happier. Can't imagine what I'd do without a testimony in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. So clear and resonating with God's spirit. Keep kicking against the pricks, y'all!!!
Free gift of salvation! Is it free if you have to earn it? Is it free if you have to pay for it? Is it free if you do something wrong and you lose it? It's free because Jesus paid the price for us? YES..salvation is freely given to those who ask and receive the free gift by faith. It is free and no man can pluck those out of His hand, not even I can pluck myself out of His hand. The dead spirit inside of me was born again to eternal security, my dead spirit I was born with now has been merged and sealed with the power of the Holy Spirit and I am forever sealed by Him to be with Him forever and I now have access to the throne of the Father because of what Jesus did! He paid the price and He that knew NO sin took my sin on the cross! Praise the Lord it is finished! Salvation is secure through Jesus, ALL Glory to Jesus and now that I belong to Jesus and not the world...not to satan because Jesus loved me FIRST, I love Jesus and I have the choice to allow my faith to be seen by the world as ALIVE and not DEAD. Good works are produced by yeilding to the Holy Spirit guidance in me and through His word and even when i make the mistake of yeilding to the flesh because I am still living in the flesh, Praise the Lord my dead spirit that died when sin entered into the world is ALIVE and sealed by the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption! I trust Jesus not myself, i trust Jesus ALL GLORY TO GOD! This is the good news, the Gospel and not to be added to! False prophets add to this gospel of Jesus..there is only one Jesus and he is taught through the word of God not Mormonism, not new age teachings, not Jehovah witness and NOT the Jesus in Islam. The path is narrow but FREE!
Peace and truth reunite within all the hearts of the HOSTS of YESHUA and own. Pure in hearts. Is our turn to return the favor. Meaning claim our KINGSHIP and priesthood. YESHUA Jesus christ made unto God. Molded through fire of high pressures of life. Came out solid diamonds that their feet became solid that can't be uprooted nor shaken and YESHUA Jesus christ made their feet like his feet. Because the world nor all dry GROUNDS is God's FOOTSTOOL INDEED. YOUR FEET BELOVED, IS GOD'S FEET
If the people were focused wholly on Jesus Christ they would not need to have the super structure of the Church that they do. I find it to be very reminiscent of an Old Testament Church where you have to go to the ancient temple and offer sacrifices for your salvation. It is eerily similar.
Do you mean "focused wholly on Jesus Christ" like Jeff, where he believes Jesus decided to create most people just to send them to hell in his 5-point Calvinist system of beliefs? You do know that Jeff thinks God created all men evil, unable to respond to the preaching of the Gospel unless they happen to be the rare person God decided from eternity past to save based soley on His good pleasure and on nothing at all to do with them? That he believes that God first regenerates people so they are saved, and then gives them faith so they can believe, so Jesus is the 2nd most important thing in Jeff's belief system, first most important being you must win in the eternal lottery of getting Elected for not reason of your own doing? Jeff's Calvinism is so man centered in its doctrine an philosophy, it makes Mormonism look like the pure truth it is. When you have a system of beliefs and doctrines contrived by Augustine, Calvin and modern philosophers, not based on the Bible or Bible passages but their logical extensions of the Bible, then you can't say a thing about what the Mormons teach.
+Bob Vukich , umm.. Wow. What are you gonna say when hoi face The ALL CONSUMING FIRE. OUR GOD IS IN THE HEAVENS AND HE DOES WHATEVER HE PLEASES. Read Romans 9 straight through.
You do realize that it was Jesus, in his pre-mortal form of Jehovah, who instituted the law of sacrifice, right? The Temple is his house. And one must be worthy to enter.
The church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints does so much good! and the whole church is centered around Jesus Christ anyone that says otherwise is wrong.
Don't be deceived or harden your heart!!!! Its called The church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints! and by no other name do I worship. Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior of the world is at the head of our church and I believe their is no other name by which men and women can be saved. I learn these truths in the Bible and the Book of Mormon- (Another testament of Jesus Christ)

Yes we have our own free will.... We can choose liberty and Eternal life or captivity and death. If we truly accept Jesus Christ in our life we will try our best to live his commandments and when we mess up we will repent for our sins. I'm so grateful for the atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ and the opportunity to repent when I mess up. All mankind has the opportunity to saved but its our choice. We have our own free will!

Hey Apologia! Out of curiosity, what books would you recommend for learning more about Mormonism? I've got "Letters to a Mormon Elder" by Dr. White but I'm excited and intrigued to get more into this topic!
I can give you a few of mine that I recently read if that's ok. The American Muhammad: Joseph Smith, Founder of Mormonism www.amazon.com/American-Muhammad-Joseph-Founder-Mormonism/dp/0758640293 This is an excellent read, and it teaches not only Mormonism but also about Muhammad. the second book I finished on Mormonism was wrote in the 1800s by Brigham Young's wife "Wife No. 19: The Story of a Life in Bondage, Being a Complete Exposé of Mormonism, and Revealing the Sorrows, Sacrifices and Sufferings of Women in Polygamy" www.amazon.com/Wife-No-Mormonism-Sacrifices-Sufferings/dp/1497510090/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1471954687&sr=1-3&keywords=the+19+th+wife This book is very sad and will make you sick, but it will give you a deeper understanding of how much polygamy was apart of life and the horrors of it. The first book is more doctrinal and will give you an understanding of the early LDS doctrines. The doctrines have changes dramatically over the last 150 years but it is very helpful. The second book is based more on real life and is a story from Her point of view. If you just want a book on the differences between Mormons and Christians than Shawn Mccraney will do. www.amazon.com/Where-Mormonism-Meets-Biblical-Christianity/dp/0615569633/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1471955159&sr=1-1&keywords=where+mormonism+meets+biblical+christianity
The universally acknowledged best biography of Joseph Smith by believer or non-believer alike is "Rough Stone Rolling" by Richard Bushman. It is the definitive work, and Bushman is a Harvard educated retired professor at Columbia university. If you want to read about polygamy, Todd Compton's "In Sacred Loneliness" is a study of Joseph Smith's plural wives and is considered excellent, or the definitive, as in all inclusive publication, is by Brian Hales, "Joseph Smith's Polygamy", which contains every known correspondence and writing, as well as historical context, about Joseph Smith's practice of polygamy. While the book by Ann Eliza Webb Young is interesting for its historical fire style, and American Muhammad is basically a scholarly book of parallels, but no where near the depth of insight provided by Bushman.
If we praise and worship Jesus Christ together God will be in our midst. Look at the what the Lord has already done believers. Jesus Christ is our persevering Lord who has place his name in all churches. We must get past ourselves and see the hope of Christ. If any church teaches the doctrine of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ Jesus they are teaching the truth. I believe that because the Lack of the Holy Ghost and simplicity of the gospel in religions like Mormonism exalts their leaders rather than God. These organizations cross a line because it leads to idolatry. God will judge idolatry and this organization, leaders and followers if they don't turn and repent. The only error that is in this church is the spirit that is at work behind this church. Faith in Jesus's death, burial, and resurrection is enough to save anyone if they believe. In fact it is biblical these words has replaced the voice of satan in the garden of Eden. The Holy Ghost has taught us all truth and if we are truly saved we can hear the truth. When we learn to listen we will hear the lies and spirits in their doctrines. If we work our salvation out with fear and trembling God will never lead us astray. We are not on earth to argue with each other if their Jesus is the same as our Jesus . We are only here to testify of his goodness in ourselves and grow into Sons of God. Jesus is very simple seek, knock and ask... The best way to reach people in other faiths is to be as human as them but as godly as the Son of God. All things that leads to godliness is obtainable through him who was sent by God. My message to any leader of the Mormon church is to cling to the doctrine of Jesus Christ who is the living word of God. Joseph Smith cannot make you happy only God the Holy Ghost can. He is our teacher and the one who convict us of sin. Paul the Apostle and others like him could say more about true happiness after all their blood was shed for Our Lord Jesus Christ. Peace, Joy , and Love in the Holy Ghost!
Don't be deceived or harden your heart!!!! Its called The church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints! and by no other name do I worship. “Ye do err in not knowing the scriptures.” Paul is clearly discussing the purpose of the law (ie law of Moses). And that through Christ the law of Moses is fulfilled. In no way is he insinuating righteous living (ie works) are not required. Hunger and thirst after righteousness and God will lead you to the truth. Ever wondered why all religionists attack The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints but the church makes no effort to fight back and call out their incorrect attacks? I seem to recall all religionists 2000 years ago teaming up to kill one Jesus of Nazareth...and he fought not to defend himself either. Ponder upon that.
01:06:02 "Sh'ma Yisra'el YHWH Eloheinu YHWH Eḥad" From Wikipedia: The first, pivotal, words of the Shema are: Hebrew: :שְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל יהוה אֱלֹהֵינוּ יהוה אֶחָד - Sh'ma Yisra'el YHWH Eloheinu YHWH Eḥad Rabbinic Judaism teaches that the Tetragrammaton (י-ה-ו-ה), YHWH, is the ineffable and actual name of God, and as such is not read aloud in the Shema but is traditionally replaced with אדני, Adonai ("LORD"). For this reason, the Shema is recited aloud as: Sh'ma Yisrael Adonai Eloheinu Adonai Eḥad - "Hear, O Israel: the LORD is our God, the LORD is One." The literal word meanings are roughly as follows: Sh'ma - listen, or hear and do (according to the Targum, accept) Yisrael - Israel, in the sense of the people or congregation of Israel Adonai - often translated as "LORD", it is read in place of YHWH; Samaritans say Shema, which is Aramaic for "the [Divine] Name" and is the exact equivalent of the Hebrew "ha-Shem", which Rabbinic Jews substitute for "Adonai" in a non-liturgical context such as everyday speech.[citation needed] Eloheinu - the plural 1st person possessive of אֱלֹהִים Elohim, meaning “our God”. Echad - the unified and cardinal number one אֶחָד
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:9-11,13)
MATTHEW 22:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do《 err, YOU HAVE IT ALL RONG 》NOT knowing the SCRIPTURES, NOR the POWER of GOD. 30 For in the resurrection they NEITHER MARRY, NOR are GIVEN in MARRIAGE, but ARE as the angels of God in heaven. 31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, HAVE ye ●NOT ●READ 《USING A NEGATIVE HERE》 which was spoken unto you ●BY God, ●SAYING, 32. I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
To ALL that are in the BODY of CHRIST. Matthew 24: 4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no MAN DECEIVE YOU. 5 For MANY shall come (IN MY NAME ), saying, I am Christ; and shall DECEIVE MANY. JESUS IS WARNING US THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN. AND WE CANOT STOP IT. IT IS WRITTEN, SATAN DIDN'T EVEN DISPUTE JESUS , IT IS WRITTEN, SO WE CANOT CHANGE IT.. PEOPLE ARE GOING TO BE DECEIVED, AND ALL WILL BE FULFILLED SO MANY WILL BE LOST . THEY ARE the FUFILMENT of PROPHECY FROM JESUS OUR LORD, As sad as it is, IT IS WRITTEN we canot change it ... IF THEY 《HAVE》 EARS TO HEAR LET THEM HEAR, IF NOT WE CAN'T CHANGE IT........ BUT GOD KNOWS ALREADY. .....KEEP YOUR HEADS UP THE ANGLES ARE WITH YOU....
IF the angel preach another gospel let him be coursed, right ? what if it is the same gospel ?? no problem, right ? By the way where does your authority to preach comes from ?? Hope you see this is a relevant question.... "So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee". (New Testament | Hebrews 5:5) Here we see even Christ receiver authority as high priest to do what he was doing, so where does the authority comes from ? If we are so wrong and so bad, how come we are growing like no other church, doing a lot of good around the world though the humanitarian service, fulling the the prophecy of taking the gospel to every land and language so seriously, and so many other things. If you could prove us so wrong so easily with the bible, how come we have not been destroyed yet ??? we incentivize people to seek knowledge and not stay in ignorance, we are not afraid of the true,.... Perhaps you should preach the gospel and and let the people decide for themselves each one has more light in it, that is what we do.... we preach the gospel, we dont criticize others.... Lets address the issue: how can everybody say different things and all be true at the same time ? For me it does make sense there is need for only one way to baptize and all that follows, so we dont write books about other churches or give sermons explaining why other churches are wrong like you are doing today about mormons in this video. So in short we dont waste our time criticizing others because this is the worst way to getting others to convert to the true, and if the true is true it does not care about your feelings (right? ) we are just showing the gospel as see fit or you may our version of it, it is your duty to find out if it is true by asking God. The hallmark of the church of Jesus Christ is to preach the true, Jesus himself declare there is no other way to heaven or into the king don of God, but through him. Was him criticizing others by declaring he was the only way ??? If we are the only true church of Jesus Christ you should expect nothing less from US, but again , we dont waste our time talking about other churches, we just preach the gospel, you are the other who is trying to get converts by shooting others down.
In what 《year》 from your scriptures and history Did Joseph Smith get the priesthood and the keys restored to him 1830? 1835? 1836? In what year did Joseph Smith have his FIRST VISION AND 《《《SEE》》》 GOD THE FATHER AND JESUS CHRIST 1820? 1822? 1825? AND 《《LIVE 》》SEEING GOD WITHOUT HAVING THE PRIESTHOOD???????????? D&C 84:21 And without the ordinances thereof, and the authority of the priesthood, the power of godliness is not manifest unto men in the flesh; 22 For without this no man can see the face of God, even the Father, 《AND LIVE.》
Joseph's non-LDS friends and acquaintances wrote he had the first vision during the revivals in the Palmyra area of 1819-1820. At least his friend that moved away in 1821 said it happened by 1820. Oh, you didn't know that? But of course we know that they are called Elders in 1830, and describe the ordination by 1832. Remind me the earliest year of the Gospel of Matthew? Maybe Genesis? What year was the first year all 27 books of the NT were named as the NT, and only them? Better, in the oldest compilation of NT books and writings, what other books were contained in it? Could you tell us what books besides the OT did the folks who hid the DSS consider scripture? Let's make this really simple, what is the earliest date of any NT text larger than the size of a credit card? Or, let's go for the credit card size: How many years after Christ's death does that fragment appear? Can you please calculate the ratio of years of time from the story of Jesus walking on water to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdrey receiving the priesthood? Wouldn't that be a fair comparison, if you are trying to be fair? Or is being fair not important to you?
The problem of "Mormonism" is that it denies the grace of Jesus Christ in that it relies on the "law" of works for salvation. They will say that they don't but they do. You have to do this, do that, do this, do that, in order to "get" to the highest kingdom. There is no relying on Jesus Christ. It's all in what you DO. That is the reverse of true Christianity.

The first covenant still stands, the Pharisees believed in two Laws, the Written Law “Torah (Gods Law gave to Moses) and an Oral Law the “Talmud.” (Which the rabbis made up for hundreds of years before Jesus was born and some are still practiced today, over 10 thousand laws) Matt 5: 17 THINK NOT that I am come to DESTROY the law, or the prophets: I am not come to DESTROY, but to FULFIL. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till ALL BE FULFILLED. 19 Whosoever therefore shall BREAK ONE of these least COMMANDMENTS, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. I.e. Jesus is explaining the Law, He is telling us don’t even think of or have hate in your heart for someone because it can lead to murder and you have already committed it. (Same with any of the commandments.) “Fulfil” in Greek is Pleroo means- to fill individual capacity (i.e. to the extent it is appropriate) to make full, to make complete, to accomplish. It has nothing to do with abolishing or throwing away. What Jesus has done (for e.i) let us take an empty glass as anemology for the law it self, the law is designed to hold something like water, God gives us the law we take the law in our hands and we drop it and the glass breaks, we break the law or covenant and we cant put any water in it anymore. Now it so happens you are walking in a desert were if you have no water you will die, (the punishment of sin is death) we are all sinners. What did Jesus do? He Pleroo it, He filled to individual capacity He accomplished it He has made the Law unbreakable. John 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life Now when you drop the glass it does not break, now when we sin if we drop to our knees and REPENT He “fulfills” the glass up with water (His grace) and we try again and go sin no more (John 8:11) “Repent” in Hebrew is “Shub” means-return, to turn back, repent answer, to bring back, to draw back, to give back, to put back, recompense, repay, restore, reverse and withdraw. In this meaning means to stop sinning and turn back to God and start doing what is right, and what is right, the Law of God the commandments. Acts 3: 18 But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled. 19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; “End” in Greek is Telos means- an end, the principle aim, goal, or purpose, properly, consummation (the end-goal, end-purpose) to reach the end-aim. It does not mean it is terminated Rom 10: 4 For Christ is the END of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. Timothy 1: 5 Now the END of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned -Instead of “END” put “Telos” like “purpose” it makes more sense. Jesus brought purpose to the Law He is the Law. The first covenant is the second covenant explained in the Book of Mormon also and the D&C. Salvation is through Jesus Christ 100%, Reward is through works from one self, if we stop sinning and rely on God to make our weakness into strengths. This is not from Joseph Smith or a religious cult, This is from Jesus that we must keep trying to be like Him. Jesus showed us our end purpose, and filed it to the highest capacity, celestial glory through repaying him with Humility, Charity Repenting. D&C 19: 15 Therefore I command you to repent-repent, lest I smite you by the rod of my mouth, and by my wrath, and by my anger, and your sufferings be sore-how sore you know not, how exquisite you know not, yea, how hard to bear you know not. 16 For behold, I, God, have suffered these things for all, that they might not suffer if they would repent; 17 But if they would not repent they must suffer even as I; 18 Which suffering caused myself, even God, the greatest of all, to tremble because of pain, and to bleed at every pore, and to suffer both body and spirit-and would that I might not drink the bitter cup, and shrink- 19 Nevertheless, glory be to the Father, and I partook and finished my preparations unto the children of men. We must Repent or you will have to pay for your sins.( also Nephi 12:25-26) Matt 5: 26 Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing. 27 ¶Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: 28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. Joseph Smith is a true Prophet that did restore Jesus word, the Book of Mormon and D&C are true scripture.
Yall need to study the bible more deeply, and pray....The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the most bible based theology on the earth....all the other bible based religions are well intentioned but not truly biblical
Does the title of the evening mean that Mormons are not saved but will end up in an everlasting torment after they die ? The heresy of Mormonism would not exist if God had killed Joseph Smith when he was still a child. Why did He not do it ?
Yes, Paul denounces and condemns those preaching a different gospel but the question remains, who is teaching the different gospel? I, as a member of the LDS faith, also use that same scripture with my non-denominational Christian friends. In my studies of evangelical Christianity I see the doctrine much more related to the ancient creeds than the bible. For instance, please read Galatians 5:19-21 and tell me if what Paul says is true. That is, sinners cannot enter the kingdom of God.
Wow! That cut-n-paste is a lot to digest. First of all, if you were a former member of the LDS church you clearly didn't understand the doctrine as you made MANY false statements and then you defended your faith by citing "biblical" doctrine which is clearly unbiblical but aligns perfectly with the creedal gospel of Christendom. But my main point was clearly ignored by you and covered up by a onslaught of anti-mormon rhetoric. So back to the bible, was Paul correct in the Galatian verses I posted?
Actually, no, I wasn't going to accuse you of sins against Mormonism. I was just pointing out that almost all non-denominational Christians don't believe the verses I pointed out in Galatians. Most think once save, always saved despite living a life totally contrary to Paul's teachings. Where you are wrong about Mormonism and the bible; we teach that all mankind MUST be born again, born of Jesus, or he cannot inherit the Kingodm of God, we don't have to live perfect lives (impossible), no, murderers cannot inherit the kingdom (bible), it is impossible to be saved by works, only the grace of God can save us BUT the bible clearly teaches that those who do not manifest their born again nature with good works will never make it back to the Father, Jesus Christ is the Everlasting Father who completed an infinite atonement, we CAN be joint heirs with Christ (bible), Jesus will NOT save us in our sins (bible, as I pointed out in Galatians among many other parts of the bible), as far as us becoming like the father (deification) there is clear evidence of these teachings as taught by the Ante-Nicene Fathers. It is unmistakable and without room for debate.
I'm still not clear on your answer about Galatians 5, can we be saved in the Kingdom of God after being born again yet continue to live contrary to Paul's teachings as stated in those verses?
Those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God: To walk in these works of the flesh is to be in plain rebellion against God, and those in plain rebellion against God will not inherit the kingdom of God. i. What is at stake here? The kingdom of God, which describes where God rules, and the benefits of His rule are realized. Because Paul speaks of inheriting the kingdom of God, we understand he means "heaven." Paul says plainly, that those who practice such things will not go to heaven. Neither will they know the wonder and the glory of the kingdom of God on earth. ii. Who are the people in danger? Those who practice such things. This means more than someone who has committed adultery, or fornication, or sorcery, or drunkenness, or any of these. This speaks of those who continue on in these sins, ignoring the voice of the Holy Spirit telling them to "stop." iii. "The tense of the verb (present) indicates a habitual continuation in fleshly sins rather than an isolated lapse, and the point is that those who continually practice such sins give evidence of having never received God's Spirit." (Boice) iv. Practice "represents a present participle, 'people doing such things', and it carries the implication that they do them constantly." (Morris) v. "The verb prassontes [practice] referring to habitual practice rather than an isolated lapse." Hope that helps with your interpretation of the passage. 1John also has some insight that agrees with the above.
Thanks, Pilot Pete. Not sure what denomination you belong to but you are 100% correct. However, almost all mainstream Christians will disagree with this. Every time I ask the question the conversation ends without an answer.
MARK 12:24 And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, 《USING negative to state the positive》 because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God? 25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven. 26 And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? 27 He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore DO GREATLY EER.

I got to know a bunch of mormons, since then I've read the Book of Mormon and been watching all the videos. A friend of mine have been witnessing to them for a few years and I hope I can join him and show them who Christ really are.

when my mom wanted to know if the Mormon church was true she asked God for a sign.
2 corinthians 11:14 and no marvel for satan himself can appear as an angel of light.

We don't need our souls saved. We are already saved by the grace of Jesus Christ.
After all you can do
Great video, Jeff, and your efforts to evangelize the Mormon communities is greatly appreciated.
I've also found an extremely easy way to dispel any false Mormon doctrine through explaining to them the 400+ verses that describe, state, and use the descriptions of creation in context and in prophesy concerning the 'day of the Lord'.

GALATIANS 1:8
But should we, or an angel from Heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached to you, let him be accursed.
+Glenda McLachlan
I personally love these verses. It sheds great light on the knowledge of the Apostles of the impending apostasy in the church. In verses 6-7, he says " I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ."
As members of the LDS church, we know that there was a great falling away and that people were turned away from the gospel.
One God: Book of Mormon: Alma 11:27-39, 44 •2 Nephi 31:21 •Mormon 7:7 •3 Nephi11:27

Luke 18 And He also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt:
10 “Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.
11 The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.
12 I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I get.’
13 But the tax collector, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, the sinner!’
14 I tell you, this man went to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Jesus Christ said:" Our Father Whom Art In Heaven Hallowed Be Thy Name"
If he is genuinely happy then let him be. Stop. You talking to him more than you already have will not do any good. He will need to see the same message said by others for him to consider it

*+ Sarah Kay* *"Please Father ,Let them hear Your words and not their feelings or mans words ."*
I always appreciate prayers on my behalf.

Your description of being blessed with the Holy Ghost is correct.
I know the.difference.
@@jedimormon4536 “What would it hurt you to actually read the BoM, then pray sincerely about it?”
Okay, first issue with that is we are not to lend ourselves to false doctrine.
Thank you Jeff ! You are truly a man of God!
“You shall have no other gods before me" is part of the 2nd commandment according to the Torah scrolls.
so many Mormons would love to escape this evil cult .... its not easy.... pray for them
God bless you.
WOW! You were on fire that day. PREACH!
The words of Joseph Smith are so dark & scary! Blasphemy!
@Martin England these Pharisees scare me more. Screaming blasphemy blasphemy. How about a conversation.
I know right. So so so scary.

hey guys I was in a Mormon Church of Latter Day Saints of Jesus Christ and I didn't know it was a Mormon church so I'm not going anymore because I also found out some secrets about them that they did in the past and they still do today I'm not a member I was just visiting Pastor Jeff or anybody in this chat can you give me advice which church I should go to that teaches the true gospel and Jesus is teachings I live in Stockton
I am so thankful to hear this and I hope this will be of help to you. If you are referring to Stockton California, I found a church that teaches the bible well in your area and holds to all the same major teachings you heard in this message.
www.bethanybaptistchurchstocktonreformed.org
Try Acts29network.org or find a good reformed church.
Here is the address:
3372 CA-99, Stockton, CA 95215
😊Okay thanks you too guys for the advice really helpful and I appreciate it😊
+Jonathan Knight If that specific church doesn't work, here's a list of good ones in CA.

love vs hypocrite PREACHING by Pastor Jeff Durbin ( Apologia Church ) .... preach Jeff NAME ..... amen
Jesus says, "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."
John 14:6 reads, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
So, eternal life consists of knowing the one true God, and the only way to come to Him is through Jesus (the one true Jesus, that is). If you have the wrong God and the wrong Jesus, you are lost. It's really that simple.
I’m sharing this with my in-laws! Pray and pray hard because 98% of my in-laws are Mormons!
please pastor Jeff go for the Jehovah's witness next
If you are a Latter Day Saint. Please Watch on especially from 23:00 and onwards❤️❤️

I want to share with you a pattern that God uses. In the Old Testament we have Prophets prophesying of things to happen e.g. Isaiah 7: 14.
So how do we know that prophesy was fulfilled? We have the New Testament Prophets testifying of the fulfillment
(Matt.
The fulfillment of prophecy
Amos 8:11
¶Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord:
Then there is a restoring of his word
Act 3: 21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.
Revelation 14:6
And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
The Angel had to go to some one. Who? Joseph Smith is the only person that has received an Angel with the everlasting gospel.
FULFILLMENT
Matt:16
18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Ephesians 4:
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
FULFILLMENT
Micah 4:1
But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.
FULFILLMENT
Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
Matt. 17:
11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.
( D&C 13: 1)( JSH 72) FULFILLMENT
Mal.3:
1 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts.
Who is this messenger? Who will prepare Jesus’s second coming? What temple?
Mal. 4:
5 ¶Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord:
6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
(Who will Elijah go to, this has to happen before Jesus comes?) (D&C 110:13)
FULFILLMENT
Isa. 29:
11 And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:
12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.
(JS History 64) Fulfillment
13 ¶Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
(Jesus fulfilled this prophecy when he talked to Joseph smith in the grove JS History 19)
14 Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.
(This is being fulfilled in which you can read it in the D& C 4: 1, 6:1, 11:1, 12:1, 14:1,
Matthew 18:16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
The Book of Mormon is a fulfillment of Bible prophecy, it is the second witness of Jesus Christ.
Ezekiel 37:16 Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions:
Ezekiel 37:19 Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand.
Fulfillment The Bible and the B of M are one in mine hand.
Revelation 5:1 And I saw in the right hand of him that
sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside,
sealed with seven seals.
18 And I SAY ALSO unto thee, That thou art Peter, and UPON THIS ROCK 《 I will BUILD MY CHURCH》; AND THE ■GATES OF HELL SHALL NOT PREVAIL AGAINST IT.■
19 And《■ I Jesus? ■》 will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. ###TO say Christs church AND the keys of the kingdom of heaven had to be restored to earth is to say Jesus Christ is mistaken or lying. Is that what you and your church is saying ABOUT JESUS and his CHURCH. ...
15:17 Amen!!!🙏
*"Do Mormons believe in the Jesus Christ presented in the Bible?"*
Well ... since the bible is very much a part of official Mormon doctrine, I'd say they do.
JediMormon, Because the Book of Mormon not only contradicts itself, it contradicts the Bible.
Don't you have a planet to God of and spirt babies to make? You whack job fruit cake!!
Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul - were all other men. We wouldn't know Jesus at all if it wasn't for the witnesses.
Ah, the arrogance.
? He quoted from Romans 3 in reference to himself. “There is none righteous, no, not one;
There is none who understands;
There is none who seeks after God.
They have all turned aside;
They have together become unprofitable;
There is none who does good, no, not one. for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God Arrogance?
Thank you for all of your work
It has helped me so much with my dialogues with LDS missionaries
Isaiah 43 "Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me."
There are so many simple truths in the Bible that Joseph Smith rejected in the Mormon religion of his own creation.
Here's some good resources: "How Wide the Divide" by Blomberg and Robinson and "A Different Jesus?" by Robert Millet
So telling when Jesus says, "Nobody COMES to the Father" rather than," Nobody Goes to the Father"
EPIC
2 CORINTHIANS 11:14
And no marvel, for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
+Caleb There are 4 completely different accounts of Pauls vision of the road to Damascus, do according to your logic, Paul was a liar.
Blegh Bleghblegh
Due to your logic, people who are constantly changing their story aren't lying?
+Caleb Joseph didn't "change" his stories. I have read each account, I would say they are quite consistent and provide more beautiful detail with each account.
You still did not approach the fact that Paul has 4 completely different accounts of his vision.
Love this!
I left mainstream Christianity and have never been happier. Can't imagine what I'd do without a testimony in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. So clear and resonating with God's spirit. Keep kicking against the pricks, y'all!!!
Enjoy the lake y'all.
Doctrine and Covenants 88:15 And the spirit and the body are the soul of man.
16 And the resurrection from the dead is the redemption of the soul.
Amen!!!!!!
You should come to the S.D.A Church they keep God's true sabbath on Saturday, the 7th day of the week! (Exodus 20:8-11)
Why did God start the church on a Sunday?
@apologiastudios Could you inform us what books you referenced at about minute 30?
The righteous are as bold as a lion.
Amos .8.11-12

+Darin Hibbert absolutely man, thanks a ton!
Anti-Mormonism of the past with a sweet twist... I like it. : )
01:06:02 "Sh'ma Yisra'el YHWH Eloheinu YHWH Eḥad"
From Wikipedia:
The first, pivotal, words of the Shema are: Hebrew: :שְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל יהוה אֱלֹהֵינוּ יהוה אֶחָד - Sh'ma Yisra'el YHWH Eloheinu YHWH Eḥad
Rabbinic Judaism teaches that the Tetragrammaton (י-ה-ו-ה), YHWH, is the ineffable and actual name of God, and as such is not read aloud in the Shema but is traditionally replaced with אדני, Adonai ("LORD"). For this reason, the Shema is recited aloud as:
Sh'ma Yisrael Adonai Eloheinu Adonai Eḥad - "Hear, O Israel: the LORD is our God, the LORD is One."
The literal word meanings are roughly as follows:
Sh'ma - listen, or hear and do (according to the Targum, accept)
Yisrael - Israel, in the sense of the people or congregation of Israel
Adonai - often translated as "LORD", it is read in place of YHWH; Samaritans say Shema, which is Aramaic for "the [Divine] Name" and is the exact equivalent of the Hebrew "ha-Shem", which Rabbinic Jews substitute for "Adonai" in a non-liturgical context such as everyday speech.[citation needed]
Eloheinu - the plural 1st person possessive of אֱלֹהִים Elohim, meaning “our God”.
Echad - the unified and cardinal number one אֶחָד
according to this doctrine all you have to do is say I accept Jesus and you are automatically saved. So everyone should just to that just in case.

(New Testament | Hebrews 5:5)
Here we see even Christ receiver authority as high priest to do what he was doing, so where does the authority comes from ?
OMG I was IN the Mesa, Arizona Easter pageant when I was a kid and Mormon. I'm a happy agnostic now :)
Exactly! "For grace are you saved thru faith, after ALL you can do"
Your idea of Grace is conditional. "after all you can do".... Jesus never said that.

The first covenant still stands, the Pharisees believed in two Laws, the Written Law “Torah (Gods Law gave to Moses) and an Oral Law the “Talmud.” (Which the rabbis made up for hundreds of years before Jesus was born and some are still practiced today, over 10 thousand laws)
Matt 5: 17 THINK NOT that I am come to DESTROY the law, or the prophets: I am not come to DESTROY, but to FULFIL.
(Same with any of the commandments.)
“Fulfil” in Greek is Pleroo means- to fill individual capacity (i.e. to the extent it is appropriate) to make full, to make complete, to accomplish.
John 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life
Now when you drop the glass it does not break, now when we sin if we drop to our knees and REPENT He “fulfills” the glass up with water (His grace) and we try again and go sin no more (John 8:11)
“Repent” in Hebrew is “Shub” means-return, to turn back, repent answer, to bring back, to draw back, to give back, to put back, recompense, repay, restore, reverse and withdraw. In this meaning means to stop sinning and turn back to God and start doing what is right, and what is right, the Law of God the commandments.
Acts 3: 18 But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.
19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
“End” in Greek is Telos means- an end, the principle aim, goal, or purpose, properly, consummation (the end-goal, end-purpose) to reach the end-aim. It does not mean it is terminated
Rom 10: 4 For Christ is the END of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
Timothy 1: 5 Now the END of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned
-Instead of “END” put “Telos” like “purpose” it makes more sense.
16 For behold, I, God, have suffered these things for all, that they might not suffer if they would repent;
17 But if they would not repent they must suffer even as I;
18 Which suffering caused myself, even God, the greatest of all, to tremble because of pain, and to bleed at every pore, and to suffer both body and spirit-and would that I might not drink the bitter cup, and shrink-
19 Nevertheless, glory be to the Father, and I partook and finished my preparations unto the children of men.
We must Repent or you will have to pay for your sins.( also Nephi 12:25-26)
Matt 5: 26 Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.
27 ¶Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

This speaks of those who continue on in these sins, ignoring the voice of the Holy Spirit telling them to "stop."
iii. "The tense of the verb (present) indicates a habitual continuation in fleshly sins rather than an isolated lapse, and the point is that those who continually practice such sins give evidence of having never received God's Spirit." (Boice)
iv. Practice "represents a present participle, 'people doing such things', and it carries the implication that they do them constantly." (Morris)
v. "The verb prassontes [practice] referring to habitual practice rather than an isolated lapse."
Hope that helps with your interpretation of the passage.
