He lost that fight but he learned from it. And now you can see he is easily performing Chambers's moves while also being able to dodge them/ turn them around. Boyka's character development was amazing! I think it's cool that they used this dude but knowing how much focus there was on Boyka's new redemptin-seeking character, i think they dehumanized the other guy way too much... He doesn't say a single word and it's like we're led to believe that he is just this caveman-like creature that doesn't understand anything besides punching and saying growling noises. And he doesn't look that old, so i refuse to believe that any prison, no matter circumstances could make him THIS inhuman.
I think that was the point of Koshmar. He's "a true monster fresh out of prison", he's "The Nightmare". He's not a character really, he's just the most terrifying, nightmarish thing that Boyka ever had to face; if Boyka hadn't lost, redeemed himself and changed course, this is what he would end up being like. Sort of like Dolor, but a worse version. By defeating the monster from the prison, he sets himself free once and for all.
