Inappropriate for 'convicted terrorist' Susan Rosenberg to oversee BLM funds

- Labor Senator Kimberly Kitching says it is “not appropriate to have someone who is a convicted terrorist” on a board of directors linked to the Black Lives Matter movement.
The person in question, Susan Rosenberg, is on the board of directors for an activist group known as Thousand Currents, which is responsible for managing the finances and some fundraising for Black Lives Matter.
Sky News host Andrew Bolt pointed out Ms Rosenberg was “once arrested for her ties to radical left terrorist group responsible for killing police and bombing”.
She was sentenced to over 50 years in prison but was pardoned after more than a decade behind bars by President Bill Clinton on his last day in office.
“I just wonder why so many people bend the knee to a movement led by such extremists?” Mr Bolt said.

It's hard to keep up with what they are doing with how things are said (language) . You can't say anything against blm because it will always come across as racist. Sky News is apparently not familiar with the 501c3 not-for-profit organizations in the USA. Under that section of the IRS Code, one organization may serve as "fiscal sponsor" of another, which allows the subordinate group to avid some of the overhead costs of being free-standing. I have a slight familiarity with that process. Thousand Currents is a vehicle for granting money to causes it considers worthy, and Susan Rosenberg is just one of the members of its Board of Directors ... there are several other members, she has no other title. BLM is an entity for which they serve as fiscal sponsor. I saw only the 2016 Form 990 for Thousand Currents. This video is much ado about nothing. Yes, she was convicted as a terrorist, she had her sentence commuted by Clinton in 2001 as he was leaving office. Under the law, she served her time, she is a citizen like any other (albeit still a convicted felon -- she was not pardoned), and there is nothing to prevent her from chasing whatever dream she has. Anyway, I think Thousand Currents made/makes grants to BLM, and it is BLM which administers the funds. Neither she nor the rest of THouCurr controls that money once granted (the Board of BLM would do that --- it will have a separate corporate structure, Bylaws, and governing body). Looking at the mission of Thou Curr (and that they gave a modest grant of $25k in 2016), they are all social justice kumbaya folks. I suspect Rosenberg has given up her bombthrowing, it ill-befits someone of her mature years.
