- The development continues on my large Jade (Crassula Ovata) cutting that was given to me from Joey. I'm working on creating a nice succulent bonsai forest. This variety is known as a finger Jade or Gollum Jade.

Really enjoy your choice to include videos from past episodes to show progress on some of your older trees. It’s super appreciated!
I love jades, and you inspired me to get some. And I,m getting old,so I need plant that grow fast.Thank you Nigel❤️
Kalancho also have a similar growth habit
Rainbow Eukalyptus May be another god choice for you
@@satolemuerto9510 Thank you☺️
Thanks...Really amazing work...
This was the best dissertation on the use of crassula as bonsai. Thank you, Nigel, and all the best in the new year!
The leaf pruning reminded me a bit of needle thinning on a pine, for example. I think Jades have the potential to be great Bonsai if you give them a chance!
Hello from Italy, Happy new year to you Nigel and family and to the bonsai zone!!!
I love jades! It is great to see the history of the tree and an outlook to future. Many thanks, Nigel!
Thanks so much!!!
I must say...I enjoy your generally positive outlook on things.
Your Jades are amazing. Really cool trunks on them. Happy New Year!!!
Happy new year Nigel, thank you for a year full of inspiring bonsai content. Looking forward to another year off growing bonsai. Best wishes for you and your family 🎉
Crested succulents make great associate plants for bonsai and have a weird coral look to their lignified stems.
Ah I always wondered why you seem to prefer the baobab style for your jades. I appreciate the inclusion of the detailed explanation! That's something to think about, now that I have acquired a little jade.
Thanks you realty help me to learn. I have several jades of varying type.
Я б не змогла обрізати такі гарні деревця. Вони мені подобаються в усіх варіантах
I made some big moves on quite a few of my jades this past summer. Unfortunately I screwed up on several resulting in some rot. Some of my favorites were victims. This forest is looking nice
Happy New Year Nigel. 🎉 All the best for 2024 and Bonsai Zone 11.
Thanks for another great year of superior content and tutorials. Thanks, keep growing
Your welcome, Nigel. I am glad it came not damaged.
Thank you for all bonsai episodes!
Happy New Year!
Cheers!
Succulent Sunday!!❤❤
New series is really good ✌✌✌
happy new year
At 10:10, snip.... there"s my tree!!💚💚💚❤ Some day it will be thick too!! Great video Nigel! Now we need the cost of living to drop so I can come down there!! Things have been crazy here. Even have a new person moving in. Rent is too high up here. Happy New Year!!
I think the scaring also weakened the tree making it more vulnerable to insects and disease
I love jades. I think the trunks are beautiful and they will acquire an aged look with time. Like any tree when cut they will go into a healing mode. When cut too many times this can exhaust a tree and the tree will eventually sacrum to pests and disease. There's no hurry, just give them time and they will show their age.
Very nice, love it👍
Happy new year!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
Happy new year, Nigel!🎉
HappyNewYear🎉❤

Hi
Foist
sorry to hear the mealybugs got the other jade :(
Love the video! I have a large, 40 year old crassula ovata, do you have any tips on rooting very large cuttings?
Large cuttings root the same as small cuttings. Simply wait for the fresh cut end to dry before putting it in quick draining soil and only water occasionally in winter. During summer you can water more frequently if outside in the sun. Winter you run the risk of rot since the plants aren't growing with vigor. Best of luck to you!
Happy New Year, im new to Jades. Do you ship cuttings? I dont see very many like what you have in Michigan.
It's very difficult to ship cuttings outside of Canada FYI. Best place to find Jades is in a place that sells houseplants
How to trim a jade tree is a bit smaller
I’m in California. I see jades all the time. You just can’t get fine ramification on them. It’s just not their nature.
If you dont mind i want to say something. I have watched a no of videos but never seen a plant that looks like a tree. All of your plants are just starting plants. Do you have any plant that look like a bonsai?
Take a look at the apple tree
Since when does a bonsai need to be a tree? It’s what you make out of it.
I think there is a lot of self-important elitism from some folk who try to prescribe what is/isn't a bonsai. I disregard such people
Where is the apprentice sign-up sheet?🫶🧠🤝
I looked for the sheet when I was there but I didn't see one 😂🤣🐦💙
