- My review of the AMD Radeon RX 6800M in the ASUS G15 Advantage Edition.
These new GPUs have incredible performance for the money.

AMD's new RX 6800M is awesome. Similar to a RTX 3080 in performance but $500 cheaper.
Such a win for consumers
Holy! That’s unbelievable
Thank you for your informative videos!

LTT never mentioned the price in their video, and it's basically the whole point here, like who cares if it's not the best overall, if it's 500$ cheaper.
Small erratum at 1:44 flight simulator is shown as beating nvidia's 3080 when the 6800m does 7 fps lower.
Came to post this. Still a great video, on a very impressive product.
That is actually something I would like to know as it's a game often played and a very hardware-hungry game. So what is the correct numbers for the flight simulator, I wonder? Does the AMD beat a 3080 here or not?
Could it be due to different laptop units and conditions?
Maybe its meant to be 50, but accidentally written as 40.
did you not watch the beginning of the video ?
he said in some games its better and in some its not, but even when its not its close and competitive
so he obviously wasn't showing it as beating flight simulator - he was showing one of the games where it's worse - and he's showing you how much worse
Love your videos, and love watching you find the perfect set-up in your new space. How about small crane-style platforms (from ceiling, wall, floor)? Drag the tech into the frame each time you want to talk about one. You get to keep standing and we get to see the goods!

I bought this laptop on sale at 1099 on November 2022 from 1699 of the original price for the QHD version.
With the money I saved I upgraded the SSD with 2 fast 1TB Gen 3 from Sabrent that runs cool and is much faster for gaming (I have cloned the internal to the first Sabrent and then replace it with another Sabrent for a 2TB total SSD), I replaced the slow stock ram 1Rx16 CL22 with super-fast 2x16GB DDR4 1Rx8 CL20 Kingston FURY (total 32GB) & I also replaced the unreliable WI-FI/Bluetooth card with a fast and reliable INTEL AX210 NGW. All this costed about 320$ that can be 220$ if you go for the more than enough 16GB ram. All the components I have removed I sold them for used and I made some extra cash (about 100$) for the rest of the upgrades.
All the above are super easy to do if you have basic computer skills, 15’ time and a screwdriver.
With the remaining money bought also on sale: one ROG Falchion NX 65 keyboard, one mouse ROG Chakram, the AUKEY PC-LM1E 1080p camera and the Creative Pebble V3 Speakers (total cost another 200$).
All the above upgrades and accessories costed less than the discount I got from best buy and I added a few more $ to the ones I made by selling the stock parts for one QHD LG Ultragear 27GP850-B monitor at 165Hz that is currently on sale at 300$ for a full gaming set up and for bypassing completely the integrated GPU since there is no MUX switch in this laptop.
On benchmarks and on new AAA games this configuration is faster about 25%-30% of the original configuration and faster than a i7 11800H + RTX 3080M laptop that cost about double the original 1699 price of this laptop with smaller SSD and less RAM! All upgrades plus the laptop and peripherals cost me a total of 1820$. All this for a full gaming set up (external screen, keyboard, mouse, speakers and camera) plus 2TB SSD, 32GB ram and fast WIFi6.
Every game run on ultra-settings smoothly as butter.
I highly recommend it even on original price at best buy if you are considering buying the Nvidia variation and you will have the fastest laptop out there and a lot of hard earned $ saved.
I run a usbc to display port on my external monitor. That connects directly to the gpu if I’m not wrong? Or is there a better way to do it? For external monitor gaming?
@@elimaslonka1751 nah that’s the best
Hell yeah man!! I got that exact same one on sale! What a steal for real. The price for performance ratio is almost unfair at this point haha. Enjoy your laptop !!
I just love how clean and minimalist his setup is
That's a beast! If I was about to get a new laptop, the all-AMD configuration would be on the list now.
The smaller desk makes the studio looks cleaner. I think the optimisation is progressing in a good direction.
Hey Dave, in the future could you further develop our compare with how these new GPU's perform outside videogames. Like for those of us who use Maya, Unity, Adobe, and such programs
It's an amazing idea. As much as I'm not a laptop guy I can see where people would want to run such programs in a portable workspace... Specially Adobe considering how many people edit videos, photos and etc on-the-go.
Or maybe even CAD softwares..

I love how AMD is bitch slapping Intel and Nvidia simultaneously.
AMD aint bitch slapping intel and Nvidia. Look at AMD stock vs intel and Nvidia. its in freefall since they dont make their own chips.
LMAO this GPU does not even come close to the full power envelope of the RTX 3080. And no mention of DLSS? It's 500usd cheaper because it is inferior. This is a good laptop for value-seekers but not for those who are looking for the flat out best laptop. Those people would still be looking at nvidia cards.
And excited to see them slap back. Only in that way consumers can enjoy great products of high value.
@@mariodelaurie1142 except for the fact that majority of the consumers are seeking value for money. You can have the DLSS and Ray Tracing if I can get similar performance at $500 less.
@@Lumpia_In_Texas I don't know what stocks you're looking at but but AMD is not free falling at all. Your reasoning is also kinda weird because AMD and Nvidia are both manufacturing their chips at TSMC. Only Intel is making their own chips which are the famous 14+++ versions.
Great video, I remember the times you couldn't recall Dave. Back in 2012 AMD was offering HD 7970m that was cheaper than GTX 680m and was about as powerful. But yea, it's basically been a decade of Nvidia having monopoly on high-end laptops GPUs

What I've noticed even before the pandemic was that supply for many laptops was so slow. Reviewers get these amazing devices and then it takes months to get one. Now supply is even worse due to the pandemic. Hopefully it will pick up, but I'm tired of having to look almost everyday for a laptop I want to be in stock or just be released. AMD is making computers competitive. Thanks for the video Dave.

Your Intro are really creative, I like that.

This is literally going to be sold fast. I’ll buy a new laptop every time you make a new video.
Hey Dave I am fascinated by the way you do your review but to me, the most creative part is your intro video at the beginning. Each video has a new intro it's very creative.
Can you guide me on what software you use to create them?

That was a really cool laptop performing like 2060 at the price of 1650. It would have been a hit if the design was better. I think feel intentionally went for a relatively ugly design to not allow people to see the power of AMD.
@@ADSWR The design was not the issue laptop heat sensor was just buggy and show cpu run at 100c when it only 80c cause throttle.
