Hey Jack the nuts your tightened are not meant to be tight. You will put unnecessary stress and strain on the linkage bracket and arms All split pin nuts should be firm and then backed off one segment to allow split pin to go through It’s similar to boat trailer bearing which use the same principle.of nut and split pin Regards Bryan
Hi jack and megan love the channel caravan looks great. I've built trailers for many years you may need gussets on your spring hangers. Hand brake needed.
How awesome so many of your viewers recognising you and wanting to check out your van 👍😀 You react the way you do from the anxiety you suffer and is perfectly normal 😝 Noone begrudges you because you're trying your best with mental health you disclosed years ago 😊 Safe travels 🙏
Ahh see now thats how you make a vlog, I was smiling the whole way through. Awesome parking at the beach Jack, congrats on realising the dream 🎉👏🏻👏🏻. Safe travels guys 🤙
Hey Jack don't worry about the "experts" who know how to drive caravans. As a road train driver ( retired ) who lives in a caravan and travels full time. I can tell u these "experts" are usually the ones u want to ignore ( so much I wanted to say there, but thought better of it 😁 ). Just keep going and enjoy your travels. BTW, I've been following your travels for years now & both you & Megan always inspire me to new places. Keep up the good work 👍
Loving the new channel so much, the real you guys show. Can tell you that if we see you guys out there we will be saying hello as you guys are our favourite UA-cam people.
Roller rocker suspension like that, that bolt needs to be slightly loose and greased up to allow for movement. Tightening it will increase wear and likely get noisey. Loosen it off one turn 👍
Hey jack and megan love the new channel reminds me of your original channel at the start. Little tip with water tank your two straps are to far apart which is why u have sag rule of thumb is 3rds apart.
Hey guys! Loving the behind the scenes style vlogs! If you're heading in the direction of Victoria I suggest you check out the Howqua Hills Historicl Area - amazing rivers, nature and hills with historical shacks. Great platypus, wombat, kangaroo, and bird watching! Stop by Lake Eildon on the way for some great sunrises and sets on the waters edge for your photography Megan (if the weather permits (fingers crossed!)).
Hi Guys. Loving both channels. Grew up caravanning in the 60s and 70s. A tip from vans of that era. The long cabin hook on the door isn't just for hooking the door open. It should also hook into another loop in front of the door when travelling. This stops the door flying open as you are driving. It is likely a couple of the holes you filled in front of the door were where this other loop used to be. Should be able to pick up an ordinary cabin hook at Bunnings and use the loop out of that. Rivet it in place so that the hook is fairly snug against the door frame when it is in the forward position. That way it won't bounce out.
Can’t believe how tight of an angle you can swing that van around on! Bloody amazing As someone looking to get into caravanning, loving watching you guys get your bearings - keep it up!
Really enjoying this channel seeing you so raw and real as much as 💩 in the kitchen 🤣 hope you’re feeling better Jack 🥰 If you guys are coming to Adelaide I’d love to say hi 👋 😀
Great parking Myrtle at Wauraltee beach Jack. 👍👌 We love this new channel. 😊❤ Have the same style mirrors on our ute. They make reversing so much better 😊A stone guard under the water tank will help prevent damage and also support it.
Loving these videos, don’t worry about what you think is boring , you are keeping it real , as a truckie you could have easily reversed down that track, having said that mate , you did a good job of getting it down there …you guys have done a great job on the van.. enjoy your travels, ps .. the rocker arms on the suspension are not meant to be super tight , the arm needs to pivot , that’s why a castle nut and split pin is used …
Loving this channel. Different content and kinda addictive. I'm a bit over seeing everyone do the Gibb, you can only watch Tunnel Creek etc so many times. Ningaloo over it. yeah I know you can watch the sunset and go fishing and now we're coming into the warmer months Lucky Bay again and again and again. Like that you're doing something different and just love Myrtle
G’day guys another awesome upload. Bit of advice like many others have pointed out that bolt needs to be slightly loose. The pin will stop it from coming off. Bend the ends one one way one the other. Also don’t drag the van like its a zero turn. It can pop the tires off the bead just something to keep in mind.
I have been following you guys (and watching) for a few years now. If I see you on your travels I will definitely come and so hello. Keep up the good work and look forward to seeing your travels.
I usually check all suspension bolts and nuts after about 1000km or so of travel after fitting suspension. You will find that as the suspension beds in things will loosen up and require tightening. You also did dirt roads and corrugations which tend to loosen suspension bolts and nuts as well. After I did the PDR in my four wheel drive I had to check and tighten all the suspension bolts and nuts and found a fair few that had loosened off, especially sway bars and shocks.
Hi Jack we saw Myrtle today, she looks great, when you were filling up on your way out of camp. We love your channel and will say hi next time we see you, when you’re not busy getting ready to go. Craig
Jack, you can call yourself master of caravan parking. What a spot on the York you scored! Nice one. You guys going to waraultee beach (probs wrong spelling).
I am loving this channel so much! We are seeing a different side of you both and it is a lot of fun. As a subscriber, it really is thrilling to see, irl, a creator you follow. I drove past Kendall and Glen last year and it totally made my day/week/month. I hope i see you guys out there one day...
Hey guys love ur vids in both channels, keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing u on the tube. And jack I love the rig, should do a in-depth video about it 😊
I just saw ur u-turn on the sand. Risky move mate. Just b careful it’s not the tyres u have to worry about, it’s the suspension and drive line on the van because it’s dual axles buddy but great job 😂
We are loving these raw vlogs!! Seeing you both be yourselves has made us love you so much more and has made us realise how similar we are 😂 can not wait for more!!! Also, seeing the behind the scenes of caravan life is so informative! We’re currently looking at buying one and you’re making us think and discuss things we haven’t thought about so thankyou for that!
Great vlog guys, Jack, just a cautionary note, please wear clear safety glasses when doing any work under the caravan or car, it is so easy for a small piece of crap to fall into your eye (s), had it happen a few years ago - not a pleasant experience, I needed to get it removed by the eye specialist at Q.E.H. hate to see the same thing happen to you or Megan. Safe travels, you should enjoy the Yorks, plenty of good fishing spots.
Just ignore that comment Jack, as I bet when that person started caravanning he too didn’t know what he was doing! We all have to start from the same point when first towing a van! You guys are doing a fabulous job 🌞🌻👍
Still watching you both from Scottish Highlands. Keep up the good work and travels as I enjoy seeing my country of birth. I am 4th generation Australian, left when I was a young lad and am now 77 years old. It's a great pleasure to me to see Australia and to see how beautiful it is. (i'm from Adelaide)
You will get lots of attention with a stand-out van. Our bus, Myrtle, is green and white, and people followed our journey all over Australia. All the white and black caravans look the same, but when you turn up to a caravan park, you notice ones that you have seen before that are different from the crowd.
Sure you've fixed it, but the water tank could have been jacked up with a block of wood in between, held in place and then put the mounts in place. Good work guys, love watching you guys! Cheers
Hi guys.Just wondering why you didn’t put a protective shield around your water tank, like thin metal or checker plate. It would help with strength and stop stone damage, especially when you want to do gravel roads. Enjoy watching your travels 😊
High Jack, a mechanic here, your egt issue could be a dirty air cleaner, dirty injectors, i have great result for fuel additive called diesel power, i run the ratio of diesel power to deisel a bit stronger than recomended , but it definatley works. clean your air filter, if your egt's are still high, has some one had this car tunned? more diesel equals more power, problem is, when towing or loading the engine it will cause the EGT to run hotter, EGT = Exhaust Gas Tempurture. A rich running deisel will cause hotter egt . other issues could be turbo boost leak or a turbo not making the boost due to wear. engine is added the fuel expecting the air to be there. if cleaning the Air filter and adding deisel injector cleaner doesnt solve the problem, get the car looked at, cause this could be slowly killing your engine , toyota engine are not cheap, spend now to correct the issue or spend big later to get the engine fixed ?
Port Augusta - classiest place in Australia 😂😝 oh and Jack you can't possibly look like a weirdo in Port Augusta! Also coffee is a vasodilator which means your blood vessels open up. Could be a cause of your red neck as vasodilation can cause redness and warm areas on the skin.
Hi guys. Top spot . We also stayed at that exact spot in our 21ft van . You made it look easy getting in. We had to unhitch and reposition our van and it took nearly an hour of mucking around. 😮
We're starting our Australia tour this year next week in Broom and will be exploring Western Australia over the next 4 weeks up to Perth. It's a shame that you two aren't in that area. Regardless, we're looking forward to it and hope you have a good time with Myrtle. Best wishes from Germany - keep up the good work!

Safe travels guys 🤙
View thanks Greg!! thanks for this mate gives us lots of motivation. :) Enjoy the rest of your week.
Loving the new channel! ❤️
Looks to me like you know how to tow a caravan! That is an amazing turning circle. Try doing that with a modern caravan.

Thanks Phil!
Megan you are not boring its the truth talking which we all love to hear .This is why we watch you guys ...keep it up
Hey Guys, loving the blogs. Jack, don't worry about people looking at Myrtle. They are admiring the van and how beautiful and unique she is. You
Guys, please hold your heads high on your renovation of Mertyl, she looks bloody beautiful 😊
Your new Vlog channel is awesome this puts you up there above so many others JOB WELL DONE. Not just another sightseeing channel.
Love watching you guys on both channels as you are keeping it real. Keep doing your thing.❤
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉awesome work guys !
Nailed that parking! A little bit of confidence goes a long way! Loving this new channel, it reminds me of your first few back in the troopy days. :D

Those are really nice towing mirrors. You guys are making me wish I could ex-pat to Australia.
Meegs had you already had a cocktail when you were doing your disco bit? Loved it. Nice parking Jack!

Jake i will give you a tip turning your caravan like that is a good way to snap an axle
I’m aware of that 👍 thanks mate.
In sand is not such a big problem. On concrete or high traction surface would put a lot of stress on.
Enjoy the primo camp site you two!!
😎👌
I have been following you guys (and watching) for a few years now. If I see you on your travels I will definitely come and so hello. Keep up the good work and look forward to seeing your travels.
Well done Jack on spotting the loose pivot bolt - you really have touched every bolt and know what looks right or not. Love it
That was a fun video. I'm happy you guys made this second channel. I love watching these relaxed/informal vlogs.
I usually check all suspension bolts and nuts after about 1000km or so of travel after fitting suspension. You will find that as the suspension beds in things will loosen up and require tightening. Just tight and back off then split pin. Those thin metal brackets bend . They will tighten forever and all you will do is stress the brackets.
I am loving this channel so much! We are seeing a different side of you both and it is a lot of fun.

I love these mid-week vids, good job guys! Btw, never noticed the red neck thing, think it’s pretty common,
Hi Jack and Megan just been watching you under the van water tank would be better with stone guard as extra support besides protection for the tank as well.
Loving this new channel guys, keep it up👌😎

Honest review on the towing mirrors so far?
And which model did you get? Looking for some for my prado and can't justify clearview
Love these videos please continue 🫶🏼
Honestly so inspired by you guys!
Ive grown up in WA & QLD and traveled the Nullarbor twice when I was little and it’s weirdly my happy place so I appreciate these simple videos so much. Will be sharing with my dad who I traveled with last, hope to do it again one day maybe another once or twice🥹🤍
May I ask how you source creative work Megan, ? Or used to when you started out ? I’ve nailed using premier pro and filming but I want to start doing more, may I get a tip on where to begin? 😊😊
Great vlog! Just so natural and normal. What carpets are those outside Myrtle on the beach? Would like to get 1 which is the same/similar.
At last a real version of travelling around OZ. Really loving it, waiting for other sites to follow your concept.but you were 1st. Megan where was j's nose spike getting you ?
Loving the Vlogs, can't remember when, but recently you mentioned that you had to get used to having Myrtle on the back, and in the Troopy you didn't think twice about heading down a track to a campsite, I get the feeling that you guys are happy with the compromise of a larger space to live out of.
I think I have the solution so there is no compromise!!!!!!!
Why not have a Troopy towing Myrtle in the future ! 😜
Hey guys... lots of good spots in s.a , we have watched u guys since before the 47 too. Toyota through and through. Ya see so many in the open country, we are currently on the inland track back to s.a base for a bit. Can I ask. What's the plan. What's the hurry? U guys are travelling so fast?? Must see in yorke - Point turton. Flaherty beach. Port hughes and if you cant get a squid @ woolbay well...thanks :)
The vlog channel is as good as the other one😊
It's the toilet in the kitchen for me 😂😂
Oh, and if you end up going east towards Melbourne along the GOR, stop past "The Granites" such a beautiful free-camp.
I'm just around the corner ❤
I love Megan posing and Jack says "Look at Myrtle!" 😂
Hahaha his one true love 🤣🤣
Loving the new channel.
Try decaf coffee, I have an intolerance to caffeine and it's made a huge difference swapping to decaf. Ignore the haters and give it a try 😊
You don't want to over tighten them cause the rocker arm needs to be able to rock without to much restriction
Megan, "I'm going to do...squirrel."
Hahaha accurate 🤣😅
Hey guys love the channel and myrtle can I please make one comment ,about your water tank,s please go get some shielding on your water tanks to minimise any stone damage ,if you have no idea what I am talking about have a look under any caravan other than that love the Yorke Peninsula
Hey I do know exactly what you're talking about, I unfortunately never got around to doing it but ill get it done soon.
Did you get big washers for the mirrors? Apollo did not on our rental and they did shake loose, even damaging the metal sheet in the process. A trip to Bunnings later they sat firmly.
Yes did put some washers in behind! Huge difference hey!
@@JackandMeganVlogs absolutely. Ours were maybe 20mm in diameter. Changed them to 40mm and suddenly I did see something while driving 😂👍🏻
Yes that was loose. But if u over tighten them they will not “rock”.
It’s called living guys and I’m sure all our caravans look untidy at times to 😜👍🌞🌻
haha cheers Caroline!
How much energy does Meagans wax pot use ?
Cool ep guys
Cheers Craig!
That is a pin/axle, not a bolt. It is not supposed to be tight. The suspension needs to move. That is why it has a crown nut and a pin. Just nip it up and put the split pin in to stop the nut coming off. If it is too tight you will wear the joint out.
Thank you!!!!
was about to say the same thing lol
@@JackandMeganVlogsI get red kneck it’s caused by anxiety and stress best thing to do is change of diet
@@JackandMeganVlogshey jack those bolts on caravans aren’t that gd with split pins u need solid grip bolts
Hey Megan I struggle to talk with ppl my anxiety gets the better of me
Get yourself a cheap tarp to use as a groundsheet for getting underneath vehicles without having to roll in the dirt or mud
