As a retired painter just use acetone it’s quicker, cleans better and works on all paints even epoxy!

A metal flea comb works great to clean the paint chunks out of your brush after soaking in that solution.

You could probably get it even cleaner using a brush comb instead of a wire brush.

Never used this product before. 3 other ways I've used 1. Fabric softener 2. Apple Cider Vinegar 3. (it's not natural but works like a charm) Winsor Newton Brush Cleaner-for about 11 bucks and you can use it over and over (within reason that is) Good review on this product though, thanks!

Bullshit. Vinegar of any type does not work.

30$ brush? Never seen any brush at big box stores that much at most 16$ & that is for wooster/purdee brushes. What i find works well is rubbing alcohol dipping brush few times then dish soap then using the back side of sponge scrubber pad pulling brush downwards on pad loosens up any stubburn paint, works great everytime.

For solvent paint use Nitro Mors (Liquid paint stripper here in UK) & for Emulsion paint used brush restorer

The product actually works quite well with oil based paint. It doesn't work well with epoxy paints or oil-based stains.

@@TheFixerHomeRepair Watched a couple more on this... It seems simple green, (mostly for regular / not as bad cleaning?) Acetone & murphy's oil soap work wonders too. (for the bad stuff) :)

What's the ingredients in the bag? Probably just soap.

Would like to share this for others to benefit from my experience. I used this product on my best Annie Sloan paint brush soaking it overnight per instructions. In the morning the brush was destroyed. Hindsight tells me that I probably should not have used this on a natural bristle brush. The brush in the video is probably synthetic bristles. The Annie Sloan brush is designed for chalk paint, the instructions for cleaning it was to rinse in warm soapy water, rinse till clear then hang to dry. I have used this brush for 5 years doing that. But then I used this with a latex paint and did not get it cleaned promptly. I had tiny specks of dried paint that I could not get out of the bristles that would effect my next use of the brush. I was hoping this product would rescue my favorite brush. Lesson is that I should not have used my specialty brush for something other than what it was intended for and most importantly, don’t sit my brush down until I clean it.

Buy good brushes and take care of them. Cheap or damaged brushes aren't worth having. They take more work and paint to do the job. There is a reason professional brushes are $18 plus each. Definitely worth it even for a weekend warrior like me 😀

A wire brush will damage the bristles. A stiff dish brush works and won't damage the bristles. I've been trying to clean a name brand paint I bought at a big brush store of my $30 brushes. They started drying out after 5 mins of painting so I stopped painting tried washing them out right away. Tried soap and water, rubbing alcohol, vinegar. No luck. Hoping this stuff will work. Got some new paint which washed right out of another brush.

My art brushes get coated in a little Vaseline when not in use, keeps them soft & keeps their shape. Wipe off before next use.
