I just got this bike couple days ago. I absolutely love it. The Bike itself is essentially the frame. It has a solid frame that can be built upon and upgraded over time improving and adding value to the bike. I may switch to 27.5 inch wheels. Didn't realize the 29ers would make it feel like I'm riding my dad's bike. It's literally like riding a horse. I'm like I'm not really riding the bike as much as the bike is taking me for a ride. It's like riding a horse. I'll get 27.5 fat tires so I can have a little more control and ride more aggressively. Great take on the bike. You were zpot on with your break down and analysis. I agree 100%! Cheers!
Got mine for £300 as the bottom bracket had play on a shop new bike. Replaced that (with the shimano version) and also upgraded the headset to sealed and forks to Judy's. So I manged to get a more bomb proof bike for the same money. It feels like I could give it some proper tests now. Like you I also change tires depending on use. I have some 40mm 700c gravels I put on for mixed road/trail use. My only other upgrades are new grips and shimano MTB SPD pedals (pins on one side/clips on the other)
I have the 2021 GT Avalanche Comp. The best upgrades for me were the Suntour Epixon 120mm air fork and the PNW Coast dropper as it has 40mm of air suspension. The seatpost saved my rear end...
I made similar upgrades to mine plus a shorter stem and a tougher rear hub hope pro4 to get away from that horrible 141 boost! It’s all been well worth it, it’s a stunning bike!
Nice one! Changed my 2021 sport to 120mm Markhor fork and 1x 5100 Deore drivetrain. Brand X dropper and Hope Fortus 26 wheels to also allow 141 boost, but still have future 148 compatibility with end caps. So have on road and off road wheels setup as I alternate different riding on weekend and also commute during school holidays. Just waiting for my SQlabs innerbar ends to arrive for some different hand positions during on road days. Great fun upgrading and thinking SLX brakes next after some saving up.
@@outdoorgaz5 probably not LOL I'm just learning as I go which is half the fun. So many wheel width standards with bikes that can catch you out.. Thanks for the video, it looks like you have some great countryside in your area.
I'm wondering if I should buy L or XL frame. I see you got L. can I ask how tall are you? Looking at the charts I'm almost perfectly between L and XL. What do you think i should buy?

@@colinl2908 I'll come to you for advice then. Yeah loads of nice countryside here plenty of exploring left.
@@outdoorgaz5I didn't understand a word! Lol

Good bike boss. I might buy the elite 😊
Nice that was a little too pricy for me but an excellent bike. Thanks for watching
WOW . . . how i wish i could have the frame . . . either SPORT or COMP 😃
I do love this bike thanks for watching
Thoughts on the 3x front rings? Wish they were 2x or 1x. Has anyone made such chamges?
Mine came with 2 by 9 gears.

I'm 6ft and fits me just fine, depends how tall you are. The bike is quite big so maybe try the large
@@outdoorgaz5 thanks I'm 6'2 still on the fence don't know what size i should get. Need to find a sationary shop and check it out
@@mat_j Good idea, get yourself on a few different size frames see what feels good. Thanks for watching.
I’m 5 10 and i have an XL. It’s definitely a bit big but I personally enjoy big bikes lol I haven’t had any issues.

Hermosa bicicleta 🚴.
Gracias
Which frame size is it?
It's the large frame size
@@outdoorgaz5 Thanks. May I ask how tall you are? I seem to be in between M and L with my 177cm...
@@globaltrident5341 Should be good I'm about 183 cm. Thanks for watching
You were so close to my House you could have popped in for a beer.
It was the perfect day for a beer.
I can only see one very disappointing downside with your bike, the shameful lack of a honk horn.
Think I'd go deaf
@@outdoorgaz5 The joys of a honk horn out weigh any loss of hearing.
