Thank you for the coverage! So much disc golf talent in Europe. I'm stoked to hear that we'll be getting even more coverage at some point in the future.
Wow, what a battle! Linus was so great at third round and was giving so much pressure until to very last put! Great win Nikke! Now they have noticed you over The ocean and big time! One Day Nikke is world champion.
8:21 What a teachable moment. As I saw him lining up that forehand I felt like he was going to hit the stake. With that type of obstacle you absolutely MUST make an adjustment on your release point to eliminate the danger. To go ahead and throw low is just overconfident, in my opinion.
We all have your own challenges. Jussi trying to break the myth that finns are quiet 😄 Jakub has the fastest stroke i have seen. He should compete in Finland. Linus was a new face. He got out of every difficult situation unscated, lots of skill. Joona still throws far 😄
Agree. Another difference I see is these top guys all have similar throwing styles, like almost robotic as far as they all have clean technique. It seems like the US throwers have more of an individualistic style/quirky.
Great broadcast throughout, but I have to mention that Jussi speaks a bit too much and doesn't let Krystof have a word. You can hear it all the time that Krystof is about to say something but Jussi just overpowers him :D
Yeah that would be nice addition. You can find a brief interview with Niklas after the last round at proDiscgolf.cz channel: ua-cam.com/video/7t-ekr9hcD0/v-deo.html
Damn, I know discgolf got some more momentum during cov....but still...I think we need more random courses everywhere...in my surroundings in Germany there is sadly none, that is close enough to play regularly.
I guess it makes a difference.. I'm from Finland and my apartment has a practice basket on the backyard, small course within 150 meters and a longer course less than 1km away, and many more within 5km.
What? It does not spoil the ending, Jussi is just stating the pretty much obvious. If Linuses putt doesn't go in he can't really catch up if Niklas just plays for the par and then immediately remembers there are three holes left not two.
I feel like this course is REAAAALLLLY easy compared to what we just watched at the Championship in the US. I am new to this sport. Is this an easy course?
It is definitely on the easier side of pro courses in Europe. Maybe not as easy as some of the "birdie or die" courses on US pro tour, but quite close. Current lay out designer Jussi Meresmaa is sharing his thoughts about it on this short interview, where he mentions that he wanted to keep OB as natural obstacles: ua-cam.com/video/w1E_NC-nyrE/v-deo.html Easy or not, it's same course for everyone. And most important thing is, course creates separation between players over four rounds.
Its fair course. Not many flat greens making putting important. Looks easyer that it is. Its been part of the world tour before. Check spin tv channel for older vids. Its a good course compared to those golf courses they play like every third tournament in states.
Fun to see some new faces, but I have to say that the top European players are MILES behind the US players in terms of putting. I wanna say that the top US players hit 95%+ of their unobstructed C1x putts, while the EU players hit what? 70%? We even saw 5-10 misses from
Actually not. Basket in way on his right. He place his foot directly on basket-disc line, but because straight line to the basket is directly through the wood he was force to throw almost 90 degree to the left, back to the fairway.

Hole 16 Nikklas violated Rule 803.01 A. A player must choose the stance that results in the least movement of any obstacle that is a permanent or integral part of the course. Once a stance has been taken, the player may not move an obstacle in order to make room for a throwing motion. When he backed into the branches to get more of a run up. This shouldn't be allowed at this level of competition.
Having listened to 4 rounds of commentary by Jussi, I have come to the conclusion that he is a sub-900-rated commentator. 80% of what he says is obvious and the other 20% isn't interesting. I appreciate what discmania does for the game, but just because you sponsor a tournament or support the game does not mean that you can speak intelligently and entertainingly about the sport.
