This is quickly becoming one of my favorite UA-cam channels. The only catfish I own are peppered corys and otocinclus catfish. Not even snack size for yours. Lol
I’ve caught bigger flat heads up here in Pennsylvania, but the biggest channel cat I’ve ever caught was 12lbs.... that’s a snot whomper of channel cat you got lol 😆 great video my man, I been waiting for this one for a minute! Oh I own a goonch, a Japanese wels, an irwini armor cat, and a brown bull head currently. Probably my goonch or wels are my favorites but I’d really love a European wels!!! Always want what you can’t have the most unfortunately!!!
Thats one hell of a collection man! I had no idea you had some monster catfish!! I've looked into the legal Wels before and think that'd be a great addition. And my dream fish I can't have is a Snakehead... so I know the feeling 😂
@@SCFishKeeping yea same here man. I want a snake head again bad... I’m old enough to remember when they were legal! I was probably 8-10 and my took me to the most kick ass LFS in our area about an hour from home, and I picked out a baby giant snake head for my aquarium!!!! I remember it being quite the impressive predator. To add more context, my mother was no aquarist, but the reason she took me to that store is because the first baby musky i netted out grew and died the 40 breeder it was in.... ah what great memories!

Awesome catfish!!!! I saw milliken fishing’s video a while back and was waiting for this video to see a more in depth video on both the catfish he brought you. I have always wanted to keep a channel cat, I always catch small channels around a foot or so and I always want to keep one as a pet but I never had the space to do so. I will have the space soon though, I’m working on a tote pond with a IBC tote and I’m gonna do a trash can filter i got the idea from your videos. I’m thinking about putting a channel cat in there that I catch and some of my other fish as a grow out. My favorite catfish I keep is probably my bullhead catfish. I’ve had my bullhead for a long time and he’s cool to watch eat, he vacuums the sand in his tank and eats all his food. I’ve gotten lucky with him that he won’t eat live feeders and I’ve been able to keep sunfish with him. My dream catfish would probably be a tiger shovel nose or a ripsaw cat. I have all kinds of catfish I’ve got Cory cats, a bumble bee cat, a upside down cat, 2 striped Raphael cats, 2 spotted Raphael cats, 3 feather fin cats, and a bullhead cat Catfish are awesome fish but most are nocturnal and rarely come out during the day, so I don’t see them much. What happened to the big black pacu you rescued? Do you still have it?
You need to cut out the lights when trying to feed the flathead catfish, I’ve owned one and fish for them and the one I had in my take would only move and eat the the lights where cut off. They will remain in there comfortable position until dark. I would also recommend getting some bigger rocks and making a whole for it.
Lol. Those Drax clips were great! Those hybrids are gorgeous! And that Jelly is so ugly is cute! Honestly my favorite catfliah are albino cities (yeah I know.... prolly doesn't count cause they are so damn tiny!)

Most tanks with driftwood will have that tannin color! Unless you soak the driftwood long enough to release the tannins. I don't mind the natural look though!
Catfish have definitely been my favorite fish to keep, them and bichirs are infront cichlids. I need to try and get a jelly catfish for my 90 gallon. Favorite catfish I own is my synodontis hybrids (Eupterus×angelicus), although I have one that has taken out almost all of the tetras in my tank. Dream catfish has to be some sort of a rarer one, like a jau or a Flathead but I doubt I'll ever have the room for it

I plan to buy 1 or 2 albino channel catfish in the spring for my 500 gallon stock tank. I would love small flathead, or blue catfish for it also. If I can find one I want a piebald channel catfish also.
This past summer I started raising some bullheads. I got them when they were only abt 2 days old and 4 of the 8 that I have are over the four or five inch mark. I am going to stock a local pond with them after their first breeding. I also would like to raise a monster flathead one day or a redtail.
I would love to have a gulper cat one day!! Hopefully in about 6 months or so wife and I will be out of where we are and I can start having fish again.
