Very much looking forward to a counter construction video. I've dabbled a bit in this are and produced serviceable counters, but I would like to do better ones. Some of the questions I'd like to have answers for are what material do you print the counter content on, what core material do you use, how do you stick the printed counter material to the core, how to do double sided counters so they are aligned, how to cut them cleanly?

Great to find out that you are interested in this!
I am so going to try and answer your questions adequately, and every single one of them, I have had to deal with and have tons of experience.
I am going to write out your questions, and answer them one-at-a-time and also do a show-and-tell, so you can see what I am talking about and I think it would be a good idea to also show you the screw ups.
That way you can really get a good idea.

I used to make counters with styrene sheets and full sheet sticky paper. Unfortunately now that stuff isn't cheap. c'est la vie :)

I myself have been trying to create a similar map and counter set, though not strictly based on any existing WW1 game. This should be interesting.

Both massive influences on the Great War, and neat coincidence, in that I was reading up on the Battle of Hsimucheng!
