Thanks to your advice, I got the 8+. During the Pre Order Phase, I traded in my Tab S6 Lite and got the Tab S8+ for $550 along with the free keyboard. I declined on the S8 cuz last year I got the Tab S7 FE and returned it due to the poor display resolution. Thank you for reminding me to "BUY IT NICE OR BUY IT TWICE, SAGI!"

Not meaning to interrupt but the S7 fe density's is lower than the S8
We're talking about 30 ppi difference
And that what makes the S8 display much better while they're both sharing the same LCD screen and because the S8 has a smaller screen so ..

How do you trade?
Tough decision for me since the two are almost identical. I decided on the S8 because of its smaller, more portable size that's easier to hold. I will have to wait until Mid-April to get it though. I've never seen Android tablets sell out this fast before.
I came to the same decision. Ultimately, tablets fill a very niche market. For me anyway, I already have a desktop PC and a laptop.
What I will use the S8 for is consuming media and as a portable working machine. My laptop is small but even taking that around with me can be a pain sometimes.
The s8+ is only slightly smaller than my laptop, so I don't see the point in having two devices the same size. I think we made a good choice !

@@skumarw7810 both may cause headache depending upon how much time you read.. Its not that one will prevent headaches... If you're worried about that get a kindle
About to get my tab S8 today. Very excited to use it for my mechanical engineering classes, music sheets and multitasking. Not a fan of multitasking, but to split the screens to PowerPoint and notes is so nice.

@@raqeebahmed1452 really useful. When it arrived I had a deadline due with a lot of drawing in diagrams, so it really saved me. Also recording during note taking is something that saved me multiple times during work session and walk-in hours

I was going to get the galaxy tab s8 just because it seemed like the better tablet for the price. I was tempted by the larger screen of the s8+ so I just wanted to see them side by side so I could judge the difference in size before making my final decision. I think I will stick with the the S8

I was gonna get the S8, but they made the screen a LCD instead of a AMOLED. And I found the S8+ $200 off on best buy, so why not.

I got the S8+ As both my old iPad and laptop are over 8 years old and getting very slow so wanted something that could be the bridge between both (and the Ultra was just too big to be handheld comfortably as a tablet) as I have a desktop PC that can handle anything bigger than requires more power. I collected it over the weekend and I love it! Just waiting for my keyboard case preorder gift to also arrive, but I literally had to use it as my work laptop this week and connected an external display and DeX mode is beautiful and the multitasking between the tablet and the moniter was great and really made me feel like I made the right choice :) Great video btw

I am going for Tab S8+ for 2 reasons:
1. SUPER Amoled 120Hz HDR10+
2. BIgger screen for DeX and school usage
Facts and facts. That HDR10+ support gonna come in handy for real, with the AMOLED resolution too.
I'm undecided whether to take the galaxy Tab S8 or S8+ I like the amoled screen but I'm afraid it will be too big in daily use also taking into account that I would use it to study, take notes, show videos and things like that and I would practically take it with me almost always

The youtubers said that won t be any change with the design, only the specs but they ll still leave 60hz which is a big dissapointment and still 2 speakers which again is not worth it to upgrade from air 4...
I wish they made something in the small form factor of the S8 but with the power (like 16gb of RAM) like the Ultra. I feel always stuck between having to choose power vs portability. Why can't they make one that does both ? :(

Thank you for this great comparison! I am very much in doubt between these two. I want to replace my Surface Pro 5 with either the S8 or the S8+. At first glance it is a no-brainer: the S8+. Reason is that I am using it for business purposes a lot! The huge downside is what I see has happened to my Surface Pro 5 as well: I hardly ever use it on the coach as an actual tablet. So, then it boils down to using the tablet as a laptop with s touch screen....
Could you shed some light on that specific use case? So, just casually browsing on the couch. Or while you're on the go if you quickly want to look something up, but the screen of the phone seems too small. That sort of usage
If you haven't decided, my opinion is to go with the ultra if you plan on using it with a keyboard. It's essentially a laptop at that point

Great review. I had the S8 and upgraded to the S8+ because I needed the larger screen size. I'm happy because Samsung gave me $300 trade in credit and I got the Plus for like $350 on Black Friday. I'm very satisfied with the plus!

For anyone considering the S8 (base one). I was struggling too, and I thought I might regret my choice of the S8, but I absolutely do not, here's why:
- My concern was that the screen would be too small for note taking. This isn't true, for $200 more in my opinion it wouldn't be worth it to get a little more room. It's absolutely fine how it is right now, and I'm more than happy than it.
- My other concern was that the screen wouldn't be as good. Although I'm sure it isn't "As good", it's still beautiful and amazing. I'm really happy with the quality.
It's been more than a week and I'm still debating bcs I need it for illustration, the larger screen is so tempting but my wallet is kind of crying

i just bought the tab s8+ during a Samsung sale for $750 and a pair of galaxy buds 2 for free using the $150 of in store credit and I was even able to throw in a 256gb micro sd to total the full $150 of Samsung credit. The sale also applied to the s8 which i was initially going to buy but the sale only applied to the pink version of the tablet and i just couldnt imagine walking around with a pink tablet around campus. I got mine in silver!

Which one would be a better device for a student who wants to buy it for mainly note taking & study related stuff like making PPTs etc and a bit of watching content.
Well, it comes down to what you mean by "better". The S8+ technically has a better screen (for example). But it's not better if you want a more portable option. Personally, I like the bigger display because content looks bigger, there's more room to work with when multitasking and a bigger canvas for notes. But it's also more expensive. I can do the same things on both tablets, so it's a question of budget.

I preordered this tab for college because my MacBook Air was not allowing me to use some apps and websites that I needed for my classes, I was so excited but I have been having problems with the scrolling. Whenever I scroll either way it jumps a lot of paragraphs and it is super annoying. Is there a fix to that or has anyone else noted the same thing on their device?
Ok, so its been 2 full months sine I've last commented on this tablet, the scrolling problem was just temporarily and I am pretty sure it was because of the program I was running. I haven't had any problems with it at all and the batter life is incredible good for an online full time student.

I just got the tab s7+ in December and useit mainly for school, and movies. Any big differences between the s7 + and the s8 + or ultra? Is it worth it to return my s7+ and purchase the s8+ or ultra? I have the tab s7+ and let me tell you that there is no point in getting the tab s8+... Basically the only difference is the Chip... And maybe the battery is worse. I mean you don't buy a tablet to edit videos or render stuff, so you don't need a faster chip. Personally I'll wait for the next generation.

I’ll definitely be looking into the ultra instead of the plus for future generations tho because I do really prefer the larger screen. Especially for school work when I have a lot of tabs open and need to be multitasking. But the + is still amazing for my schoolwork and watching videos/movies.
I would not upgrade from the Tab S7+ to the Tab S8+ unless you absolutely needed the additional processing power or the slightly lower latency for the S Pen. Video coming soon!

For long working hours S8 non Amoled display means less strain to eyes. This is strong reason o choose S8 vs anything else.
Are you crazy? The DC dimming makes it 1000x better than a flickering LCD with the ability to also go dimmer.

I was planning on the tab s8, but I figured I'd splurge and picked up the s8+ for cyber Monday. Hope the $200 difference is worth it.
Got a great discount on the s8 plus, around 60 USD more than the base tab s8. The AMOLED more than makes up for the price difference
I purchased the ultra love it , great screen . Thinking now on s8 plus for travel etc, the ultra is great for home , desk top work but I think it's a bit big from travel .
I bought the tab S8 at first, since I prefer its size. But I was really shocked by how blurry the screen was when scrolling. I had 120 Hz activated, but it was really blurry during scrolling in the browser and in the settings. Did anyone else notice that? I had an S20 FE with an AMOLED display for comparison, which I felt had a noticeably higher refresh rate at 120 Hz activated. Now I sent the tab S8 back and got the tab S8+, but feel like it's really too big for me.
Mine looks fine except for the warm white tones on the screen. Looks like the screen has some sort of blue light filter on but it doesn't. It's warmer than all my devices at home

The S8 has a TFT display screen which is nowhere near as good as AMOLED. TFT sucks and does not belong on a premium tablet.
I have the S8 5G with 12GB of actual RAM and 6GB of RAM Plus assigned. I'm considering switching to the S8+ 5G, which would come with 8GB RAM of actual RAM. Aside from everything else that I need to consider... am I likely to notice any slowdown in response/execution with the S8+ compared to my current S8 because it 'only' has 8GB of actual RAM?

The 10 inch not having a SAMOLED display is a criminal punishment of loyal samsung users. I have been saying this for 3 years......I don't need a bulky 12 inch +. My use is for a more portable 8 inch or at most a 10 inch form factor.....It is absolutely criminal that no one not just samsung is willing to provide a version with SAMOLED screen at that screen size, even at a higher price for the better screen. This is especially puzzling since Samsung does provide incredible OLED displays for the M series phones which are around 6 inches. It is crazy.....and the only reason I won't buy an Android tab. The big screen is a big part for a buying a tan and if that ain't good what's the point. Plus if it is too big and just lies around unused Ima feel much worse about wasting that kind of money and never using it. I don't know if this will be addressed any time soon..... It's been 3 years + waiting.
I'm normally not too concerned about such slight difference but the difference between a TFT and a OLED is very noticeable..esp in the blacks. And these are expensive devices. Samsung just pushing people to buy the more expensive devices and not giving them more choice in size and displays... don't understand it.

Great review, but I think there was a small inaccuracy. S8 has 276 PPI, not 264 PPI. Otherwise, your later comment that S8+ has slightly lower PPI with 266 doesn't make any sense.
The Tab S8 has LTPS IPS Display, it has fully adaptive refresh rate, please DON'T call it "TFT display" like what cheap and low end devices use
I will choose S8 because of the tft display os much more lifespan than amoled

Buy it nice or buy it twice, for sure. I am watching this video because I am just now replacing my fully loaded OG iPad Air from 2013. It is still running OK but the wifi is intermittent.
I have it in an Otterbox Defender, and I have toured on a motorcycle with the tablet in my side cases. Dropped it a few times too, over the years. On of my main hesitations for the Samsung tablets is that Otterbox doesn’t make a Defender case for them.
Is there any kind of gaming differences between IPAD PRO v/s Tab S8..
Depends on what games. PUBG - for example - looks much better on any iPad than any Android because of the scaling for Android. But for many other games, it makes no difference.

Ummm how how does the S8+ have a lower pixel density rate than the S8???? The S8+ has 266ppi versus the S8 which has 264ppi, meaning the S8+ has more pixels per square inch, 266, which is denser than having 264 in that same square inch?
I'm wanting to upgrade my 9yr son's S6 lite, for his bday. Think an S8 will be enough? He likes to game, watch movies etc. I'd like future proof, and it'll be his only Device. No laptop or anything else.

Wouldn’t say necessary, unless you are clumsy and you drop your tablet a lot, or tend to drop things on the screen I’d say. Plus it’ll prolly have a latency when you try to use the pen with the screen protector.

I would highly encourage no one to buy these right now. In three months they will be discounted by nearly 25% like the Tab S7 was after it came out.
If you're not in a rush, waiting is always an option to consider.

I don't know if you'll be able to answer but I'm looking to upgrade from my Galaxy tab S4 which had an OLED screen, 287 ppi and if I were to change I was considering the S8 because the size is better suited for me I think but the fact it's not an AMOLED display is making me think 🤔 Do you think even though it's not an AMOLED display, it looks better than old tab S4 screen? Still can't justify upgrading my Tab S4 to one of the newer models. Nothing of fundamental importance has been added over the last 4 years as far as I can see, but then again, I've been around to experience the birth of iOS and Android and the epiphany of owning a phone miles more powerful than my first desktop PC. In comparison, the "evolution" from the Tab S4 to the S8 is really marginal.
I was just about to disagree but after comparing the two on gsmarena I realized your opinion is sound. I have a tab s3 that I am looking to upgrade. I prefer the aspect ratio of the tab s3 but it is too slow now so it might be time to move on.
@@GRYL180 At the very least I can vouch for the performance when it comes to general use (UA-cam, emails, etc). I use it for research most of the time which involves using multiple chrome tabs, note/doc writing apps, and multiple heavy PDF documents in Xodo. Some occasional art here and there in Sketchbook as well. For these the performance is still more than decent.
That being said, Dex multitasking performance could be better. Using 2 apps at once works alright but then other apps open in the bar will occasionally have to reload when clicked.
There's also some occasional loading times when opening a new app, it's not perfectly snappy like an SSD PC or an iPad (or some of the newer Tab models I presume).

The Galaxy Tab 8 Plus is a throttling mess while gaming. For how much this tablets cost there really is no excuse for Samsung not to put in place a much better cooling solution for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. There is no point equipping these tablets with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 if Samsung can not be bothered to make sure that the tablets have a very effective cooling solution to keep throttling to a absolute minimum while gaming.

Yes they do
All of them have the same ultrawide front camera which us used for auto framing, on tab s8 and + it crops in for normal photos
On the ultra it ises the normal lens for normal photos
Looking to buy the Galaxy S8 plus/Ultra Tab. The only thing holding me back is a functional webclipper ( as in Windows ) which can give me simplified articles of web news. Any app which can give me that?
