I swear playing Dedede is just 2 minutes of mindlessly spacing & throwing out moves &, then you land 3 hits that takes a stock & you feel like the most powerful player in the world. & That's why I like playing him so much.
In the beginning, to hit back the Gordo, is he using side-B or just pressing A? I heard you can Fair the Gordo back but wasn't sure how feasible that would be.
I'm just pressing the "A" button. Normally I Neutral air it because I feel like its easier to reflect gordo because its a lasting hitbox. I'm not using side b and I don't think you can recatch gordo with side b, maybe hit it but idk. However "Nair or A button" is not the only one. Directional Air Dodge or Air Dodge can also catch it, SOME people think air dodge is better recatch. You can recatch also with tilt attacks idk if involving c stick or not.. and I think jab could? There's more info probably in the official dedede discord. It just depends how close you are to the reflected gordo when you input any move. (not anything containing neutral B, I don't think..) I like Nair because its lasting and fast but you could get hit. Fair is a good option if timed. f tilt on the tip can be good but not recommended. up tilt is nice since its fast to hit back. Again you don't always recatch it. Sometimes you just hit it. sometimes its also a trade. I'm just telling you what I do anyway. You could go for it depend on distances of the player and what move reflected the gordo( if it was laggy or not..)
@@D1nghead Thank you so much for the unbelievably good information, this is super useful. I absolutely love Dedede even though I'm a nooblord lol. I also found out you that if you're above 100% damage, you can hold the Jet Hammer for as long as you want and take no self damage, really neat.
@@vvvios yeah. Also you can also reverse catch the gordo. kinda like k rools counter that can be reversed. but its kinda tricky. also sometimes gordo just does that 7:35. There could of been a better set up if I anticipated that. its hard sometimes. One more thing about gordo. theres 3 types of gordo. regular throw gordo, smashed gordo, and c stick tilt gordo. you can ajust angles with c stick. its worth to look into I feel like.
Kirby has some uses that dedede doesn’t have, especially in the air for its double hit. But I would agree it’s probably difficult to use for landing the hammer hit compared to dedede.
@D1nghead there's more differences than you'd expect. Kirby only gets armor when it's grounded fully charged, for example. He also takes more damage when fully charged. Then you add in the king's faster walking speed, bigger hitbox, Gordo pressure, overall shield break potential, and character heaviness. The jet hammer looks like a part of a complete toolkit.

I wish kirby's charge hammer was half as good as Deedeedee's.
