  • DigiWind is a new strategic project for us: With our partners, we’re going to educate future engineers and workforces in wind energy digitalisation - and we're doing it by digitalising the way we educate.
As the wind industry continues to grow, the need for a skilled workforce is on the rise. Through DigiWind, we aim to address this demand on a global scale with new digital masters and continuing education programmes.
Video interview with Project Lead Tuhfe Göçmen and Head of Department Morten Jeppesen.
🎥 “DigiWind eductions will bring lots of digital competencies to wind and energy systems engineering,” says Tuhfe. “The first track is about high-performance computing, including cloud computing, edge computing, quantum computing and more. The second one is AI and Machine Learning, focusing on how we can bring more AI applications, data-driven algorithms, and big data analysis into the realm of wind and energy systems. And the third one is cybersecurity, which is becoming more and more relevant to us as the importance of cybersecurity is increasing with further digitalisation in many of our energy applications.“
The digital curriculum is going to be facilitated via emerging technologies such as mixed realities and augmented realities and a very innovative, different teaching platform at a virtual campus.
DigiWind is a collaboration between universities and companies from five leading wind nations - Denmark, Poland, Norway, Ireland, and the Netherlands.
📣 Highlighting the strategic importance of the project, the project was kicked off by Senior Vice President Carsten Orth Gaarn-Larsen, his excellence the Polish Ambassador to Denmark Mr. Fałkowski, and our Head of Department Morten Jeppesen. Similarly, members of the advisory board Lars Landberg, from DNV, Jens Høffner from T-shore, and Mariana Batista, from WindEurope, gave insightful speeches.
🎓 By the end of the project, an estimated 900 Master of Science engineers will have graduated, and 10000 will have received continued education through DigiWind, distributed on 13 new or updated programmes within digital technologies in wind and energy systems.
