I have never seen a spider with black silk. The white cable was a good choice.

That's very cool, I hope you won't take this as criticism but I think you missed a trick not adding a ball to the switch for the head of the spider.

Wesley Treat Hey :) Thanks for replying Wesley :) I wasn't getting on your case. Rules do vary. I'm an Electrician in the UK btw. Good call with the grounded cord though.

Hi Wesley scary welding way better than mine , good to see a spider lamp made on the web , your a funny clever guy , could the cable have been attached behind one of the legs ? we used to use engineer blue on metal for marking metal do they still use it or is it old school ,

I do have a question about you building. What have you found as pros/cons for that style of building.
I wouldn't want another one like it. Can't make any use of the walls. It was actually my dad's and he kind of regretted building that style as it ended up costing almost as much as a more traditional building in the end.
Is this one of those Edison LED bulbs? Curious if it's incandescent will it melt the wire over time?
Yep, it's LED. I'm also adding a small retaining rod that will keep the cord from touching the bulb in case it's switched out for a standard one. Just didn't have the right rod in hand. 👍
