@@djbrettboy really late response but he plays on and off. He was masters in s4, challenger s5-6, didn't play s7, and hit diamond 1/masters in s8-9 but decayed before season ended. dude's a monster.

I agree with Hax, Melee will be on it's death bed if Puff takes over. I find that without even thinking if I miss and rewatch a tournament I just skip over all of Hbox's sets to the results. It's just not entertaining, and that's what Melee does best and why it's still alive after all these years. I seriously think Puff (Hbox) has the potential to kill this game.
perhaps that's why mango switched from puff...besides his game maturing and him wanting to avoid the puff vs falco MU with PP's rise.

Hax is right. Anytime that Jiggs is in top 8 it's not as good. TBH4 is my favorite top 8 of all time and there was no puff.

I like what Hax says about utilizing all the moves in a characters kit, especially since ssbm tutorials has actually revealed use for sing in edge guarding, which was the interviewer's specific example. of useless moves in competitive games.
Not sure if I totally agree with Hax$ on Falco's lasers, specifically his point that Falco forfeits control after shooting a laser. While it's fair to say that its nearly humanly impossible to react to a power-shielded laser, there are ways to get around them.
For example, Falco can shoot a super low laser and short-hop over the reflected laser to approach with a higher laser, by which time the bird should be on top of the enemy. He could even forgo the second laser for like a tomahawk or shine grab. Thoughts? Is the bird's laser able to overcome strong power-shield game?

45:30 I disagree. As Falco you can short hop laser and fastfall so the sound comes out but there is no actual laser. The opponent reacts and shields -> you grab him.
+AURON Sure, but most top players play with music now, since the crowd is so loud. Armada and Leffen play with rumble instead. That's super smart tho \o/

It doesn't seem out of sync to me, and even so, you don't even need to watch the video, you could just listen...this IS an interview afterall.
It was out of sync originally. I think that they fixed it.
See, what I actually think kills Falcon is not that he doesn't have a shine, but that Fox and Falco do and he gets destroyed by them. Fox can in theory waveshine him infinitely and he can't do anything about it, and Falco can shine combo his weight class to stupid percents, but not before he kills you first. If he had a tool to escape waveshine pressure and get in more effectively besides nair in the neutral, he'd have a better chance in theory, but because he doesn't, Fox and Falco in theory just destroys him. The reason that any character above mid tier has a chance in these match-ups is because no one is frame perfect and it only takes one decently placed hit in Melee to start a combo or some sort of situation to take a stock. Consequently, the only reason Fox and Falco are at the top in a not frame perfect world is that it's just easier to be Fox or Falco in the neutral and their tools are easier to combo with.

***** Energy shots/drinks are a bit different because they have B vitamins, theanine, etc. and it would be inconvenient to take 5+ pills.
FortWhenTeaThyme Not really because you're not getting near enough of those water soluble vitamins for it to make a difference to your energy levels. If you want that effect (from my experience it doesn't even exist) you would have to take supplements containing way more than what comes in those (usually 200% DV). The only effect you're feeling from things like that is caffeine, and you can buy 100 200mg caffeine tablets for about $10 or cheaper. Even if those energy shots/drinks were slightly beneficial, they're packed with all kinds of shitty sweeteners/sugars and fillers, and it's not worth $4 compared to 10 cents.
***** The theanine in it is also very helpful. I agree in general though, and have only gotten energy shots from the dollar store, as they are occasionally very convenient to have.
