    Wow, thanks for the explanation and the way to fix this problem! I am a former minor-league pitcher and now working with my son who can definitely benefit from what you are teaching. I have always taught him to push and reach with chest out but he is not blocking his front leg well. Just taking time to put it all together. Again this will help tremendously!

    Considering your depth of knowledge and understanding how the pelvis drives delivery; what pitfalls should a player be aware of who has an anterior pelvic tilt and hypermobility in both knees?

    Ideally When does the leg block occur? Before release?

    Question: does the lead leg block necessarily have to consist of a hyper extension of the knee? I’ve been breaking down my slow mo recently, noticed that my knee isn’t hyper extended at ball release as seen in slow mo vids of guys like Justin Verlander. Is it an anatomical thing, a mobility thing, or a mechanical thing?

      Not always, the lead leg block can be seen as a byproduct of a complete pelvic rotation, and the degree of knee hyperextension is completely dependent on physiology. Mechanics, joint ROM, and physiological structure all are variables influencing not only the lead leg block, but pelvic rotational capacity as a whole.

    Can't you also keep the body behind the lead leg by increasing stride length?

    • @treadathletics
      @treadathletics  Рік тому

      Yes but be careful not to push off the backside to increase stride length.

      Consult a licenced physical therapist, determining the root of your issue is the lowest hanging fruit.
