If that crap music wasn't on from the start and part way through the vid it would have been a good vid to hear the sound of the quads but that crap music spoilt it
Thank you for sharing. This just blew up my mind! I was trying to make a decision weather to buy a raptor or a scrambler 1000/ renegade 1000. Now I know I want raptor 700. And if I ever get bored with it, I'll make an engine swap simillar to yours. I own grizzly 550 with elka suspension for offroad riding, my wife owns access triton 400. Mine atv goes 55mph, her 70. I wanted something, that is faster, torquier, to ride with a decent speed on public road without squeezing every hp out of engine. But I couldnt decide, weather I want to go more off or on road. Now you helped me to decide, THANK YOU SO MUCH! I'll buy raptor to do some sightseeing with my wife. Grizzly will be for offroading. I prefer atv's because they are so much more fun than bikes.
To weednation and Bjorn... Just to try and clear things up... i usually work in MPH but for the sake of this i will work in KMH. Standard Raptor 700 = limited electronically in 5th gear to 120kmh this is why you have extra rpm but the ECU wont let you use it. If you change the gearing the ECU will still limit the revs in 5th gear but now its going faster at a given RPM and the ECU cant account for that. The effect of getting higher top speed is that you decrease the torque and therefore your acceleration is slower. R1 powered Raptor = 180bhp, 240kmh top speed... if your crazy enough (I'm not by the way, I build them much better than i ride them) 0-60 time is faster than the R1 itself due to the lower gearing, smaller wheel size and increased traction. Hope this helps Bart
Thx for the answer. But i forgot to mention that i have the powerbox from quadworks. Should this remove the rpm limiter ? And yes i notice that allot of bikes are indeed slower from 0-60 mph (0-100 km/h)
+Bart Spencer Just wondering how easy is it to swap the engine, and what would you say the aprox cost of such a project is given you do the work yourself?
+Bart Spencer I ask because I am considering eventually doing a similar conversion someday in the future for example when/if my engine would blow up, and that is why I am wondering.
Ok, cool :P I have not tried any high end quads but those iv'e tried kinda "snakes" on the road / turn pretty strange and also give the feeling of possibly tipping over.
Bart Spencer Oh right, sorry. When it was at 60 it looked much slower so I thought it was in kph. That's insane. How much are they for a full one? I looked on the site and i seen 3.5k for a kit, but not the whole ready to use R1 quad. So how much would that be?
They do read a bit faster due to the small wheels. So at 100 on the dash it's 91 on the gps. You would be looking at £10,000 - £13,000 for a high spec fully built quad.
The quads are cool as. I pay £300 fully comp for a 700 Raptor. Ground anchor chain immobiliser and in a garage. I know there are many factors like any bike licence no claims the area you live. How old are you and what is the insurance like. Also what do they top out at? Thanks.
what sort of speeds can u get up to on them? same sort of speed as an original R1 or are they considerably slower? whats handling like at high speed to?
I run my 700 on maxxis tyres what pressure do you run? I have mine at 14 psi got 2" spacers rear and 1 half on front plus steering damper and lowered 3" all round hales great but tramlines a lot
+Carl Boyd Sorry for the late reply, yep i pretty much run 15PSI in mine, I'm also on Maxxis tyres. The tram-lining is due to the castor and tracking angles. it needs to 'Toe in' slightly and if possible adjust your castor angle way back this gives you more straight line at high speeds. A good example of this is have you ever seen how big German cars look like the front wheel is tipping over when parked on full lock? that's caused by a large castor angle. Hope this helps you.
Have you got steering dampeners on them because I've got a lowered Ltr 465 conversion and when you hit about 50/60 it starts to become pretty responsive to bumps and the wheels start to wobble like fuck??
First thing to do is get the wheels balanced. That's really important, then set your tracking very slightly toeing in. Measure the front and the back of the tyre and set it 2mm smaller at the front. If you also have camber adjustment set it 0.5° negative.
DeShaun Whitney in the us if you live in the country or anywhere other than downtown if you put a reflective slow vehicle sign on the quad you can ride as much as you want but you do have to have all the permits
We use maxxis tyres, I have Works shocks, but we also use rear R1 shocks up the front with 180lbs springs. Stability is a all about getting the front geometry set up right, we have spent a lot of time perfecting this. Hope that helps
Bart Spencer what is the top speed on the R1 Raptor? My Raptor 700 is maxing out on 150-170 km/t on the highway, can this R1 raptor do 130 km/t for longer distances ? :)
+WeedNation12 you reach 170 with the 700 engine ? tell me how you did that becouse mine cant get over 152 (max power that the engine was giving) sprocket 15/31
Hi, you can ride these quads all day at 100 mph/ 160 kmh. And 170kmh is amazing for a raptor 700 as they are governed to75 mph from the factory which is around 105 kmh so your gearing must be very different.
Well i would recommend you to check my top speed video. You will see that the engine has rpm left but cant push it higher. Engine is in perfect condition and does not eat a single drop of oil. The gearing you can get smallest is 34 at the rear sprocket out of the factory. I never met a atv that gets faster top end. I custimized the rear axle to fit the 31 tooth
WeedNation12 check my first comment. I asked how they could reach 150-170 km/h with the 700 engine and he answered on that question that my gearing is diffrent than his raptor 700 ( he didnt mentioned r1 raptor )
+andujo211 I've just done some Math and i could get you a full set of what i use sent to you, but you will be looking at $650 so not cheap. www.ebay.de/itm/Maxxis-Spearz-Reifensatz-195-50-10-42N-und-255-40-10-34N-/181929565135?hash=item2a5bd8dbcf:g:FXoAAOSwDN1UOTVF
Arien Jaynes you can ride on the road with four wheelers, of you put a street bike(motorcycle) engine in them, put different tires, and other saftey equipment to make it legal
Stefan Bateman cant have a twist handle on a quad if youbwant to live to see tmw. they are meant for the forest. you hit one bump with that theottle and you will regret it. these have thumb throttles for a good reason
+Lisa Edvabsky Quads have thumb throttles because they need to be operated while hanging very far off of the machine(ass on the nerf bars in a turn). A twist throttle can't be used because your arms are fully extended, or fully collapsed, and proper throttle modulation is not possible with a twist throttle.
Hi guys, some of yes that watch hour videos font appreciate the music, we love to here the sound if the engines! So please less music and more engines!, great videos though!
You guy are allowed to drive that on the road!!!! In Canada you are not allowed drive that on the road, they say it's not safe!!! What's the difference with motorcycle????
Nice! I'll be doing some more Raptor videos soon, no R1 engine though :D Love your bike thanks for the video
Look forward to seeing them, cheers for the comment.
If that crap music wasn't on from the start and part way through the vid it would have been a good vid to hear the sound of the quads but that crap music spoilt it

I will!!!
Bart Spencer Great video

+Bart Spencer Did you swap out the 6th gear for a reverse? I can't live without my reverse... :)
Thx for the answer.
But i forgot to mention that i have the powerbox from quadworks. Should this remove the rpm limiter ?
And yes i notice that allot of bikes are indeed slower from 0-60 mph (0-100 km/h)
No... No reverse I'm afraid, this is the only downside to this conversion.
Nice too see some local North Somerset boys tearing it up 😉👍🏼
I love the blue and white.
I love the blurring of the speed 😂
Un saluto dall'italia. Grande continua così.
I had a 06 yfz450 with a 98 fzr600 engine on it...... Amazing ride!!!!
Isn't it scary to go fast on a quad? I bet these quads are setup good doe.
I like it, must be a blast :D
Luftbubblan better on a quad than a motorcycle more stability
Ok, cool :P
I have not tried any high end quads but those iv'e tried kinda "snakes" on the road / turn pretty strange and also give the feeling of possibly tipping over.
must be a blast.er HAHA GET IT? BLASTER? YAMAHA BLASTER. I'm good at this
Only in a straight line does a quad have more stability, on a corner going fast a motorbike is much more stable.
pretty sure bikes are more stable than anything if you understand centrifugal forces
Wich engine the white r1 does he has. Stock or swapt(wich one)
Very nice job you guys done my dream bike thanks for video. Lol what i ordered was a bashan badboy i know i am ashamed of my self 🤪🤪
👍Very cool! There's a face popping out of the clouds @9:07 just left of the middle at the top
that's in western supermare live near there
What will blocking over 90mph out? Isn't the limit 60? Or have I been going under the limit this whole time?
Nothing I guess
The speedo was kph wasnt it?
No it's in mph.
Bart Spencer Oh right, sorry. When it was at 60 it looked much slower so I thought it was in kph. That's insane. How much are they for a full one? I looked on the site and i seen 3.5k for a kit, but not the whole ready to use R1 quad. So how much would that be?

Holy Fuck. I need one. And then I'm moving to Arizona
Cams250 ?? This video wasn't filmed in Arizona...
+cwuzii I didnt say it was filmed in Arizona. In Arizona you're allowed to ride your quad on the street. At least in Prescott you're allowed to.
...🤔and the speed rating on those tyres can take all that power? No slouches on Clifton bridge 😉
The quads are cool as. I pay £300 fully comp for a 700 Raptor. Ground anchor chain immobiliser and in a garage. I know there are many factors like any bike licence no claims the area you live. How old are you and what is the insurance like. Also what do they top out at? Thanks.
I have a trade policy but people are paying around £400, and I'm sure if you were crazy enough 150 is easily achievable👍
Hey Bart Spencer great video do you ride in Devon in this video? Just asking because it looks familiar to me :)
greetings Alpinebiker
Hi, we do ride in Devon yes but this is around weston super mare, and Bristol.
best 10 mins ever
+Hi-Fi The fox thanks a lot :)
Damn thats badass
what sort of speeds can u get up to on them? same sort of speed as an original R1 or are they considerably slower? whats handling like at high speed to?
mark simpson Apparently around 240 Km/h, with faster acceleration due to more traction and different gearing.
Are those small number plates on those raptors even legal?
I run my 700 on maxxis tyres what pressure do you run? I have mine at 14 psi got 2" spacers rear and 1 half on front plus steering damper and lowered 3" all round hales great but tramlines a lot

Appreciate your advice Bart your quads look very well sorted ,I use mine as my daily transport and still grin from ear to ear after 3 years !
i wonder what the handling is like how does it hold the road
Hey! Just saw this vid, I drive through Weston a lot how come I never see you drifting around on your r1 conversions?
Hehe, probably cos I'm busty building them instead of riding them 👎👎👎
* busy
You have a steering stabilizer?, because that seems sketchy at high speed!
Are they street legal and if so where can I get one or what do i need to make a regular 4 wheeler street legal ?
+DeShaun Whitney They are street legal here in the UK and most of Europe.
DeShaun Whitney in the us if you live in the country or anywhere other than downtown if you put a reflective slow vehicle sign on the quad you can ride as much as you want but you do have to have all the permits
Do you build these for yourself or do you sell them?? If so can anyone help me with a price, even if it's a standard raptor
what tyres do you use? struts?
what about stability on high speeds? as i watch on video all okay with this )
We use maxxis tyres, I have Works shocks, but we also use rear R1 shocks up the front with 180lbs springs. Stability is a all about getting the front geometry set up right, we have spent a lot of time perfecting this.
Hope that helps
Where can I buy one of those

bjorn van de walle I don't see any Yamaha Raptor R1 video at your channel. So why write on this?
WeedNation12 check my first comment. I asked how they could reach 150-170 km/h with the 700 engine and he answered on that question that my gearing is diffrent than his raptor 700 ( he didnt mentioned r1 raptor )
Bro I wish we could get those maxxis tires here in the USA.
+andujo211 I buy mine from Germany, I'm sure they deliver worlwide
+Bart Spencer I've tried numerous times. I even tried going through Maxxis U.S. No luck.
+andujo211 I've just done some Math and i could get you a full set of what i use sent to you, but you will be looking at $650 so not cheap.

Bart where are you located? Would like to know where it is legal to ride on the road
I'm in the Uk. But I think you can ride on the road in most of Europe
im in us and that would be sick!!!
Dallas Butts be good friends with somebody at the dmv and you can get almost anything street legal!!
Arien Jaynes you can ride on the road with four wheelers, of you put a street bike(motorcycle) engine in them, put different tires, and other saftey equipment to make it legal
legal in parts of Arizona
i want to see a few of these in the hands of some inner city bike life guys in the US lolol
What do you do with all the old 700cc engines from the quad?
Cheers steven.
They get sold, they make good money too 👍
Yes the bikes are pretty what I don't understand is why you can't run in the mud it's more fun than the street my opinion
how much would a quad like these be worth?
How much is insurance for raptors ?
how much it cost to get r1 swap?
THIS IS AMAAAAZINGGG
Veri veri Gut
What's your top speed with these 1000cc engine?
Raptor700r Maniac it's not how fast it's how u get there
this was filmed in Weston super mare
@ross bull Started in Weston-super-Mare then went threw Bristol then back .....
Are these quads with engines of R1?
Can someone tell me where can I buy one of these?
is this skegness
Can the conversion be done on the 660 frame?
am guessing here but did you drive on the suspension bridge in Bristol and also can a 16 yr old drive one of those on the road(in the UK)
Yes it's Bristol. And no you have to be 17
where can i get one offline bart
Why Not Make it Legal a To use On Main Roads?
What's the intro music please somebody

Bart Spencer do u have one for sale
do u have twist throttle cuz that help with handle
Stefan Bateman cant have a twist handle on a quad if youbwant to live to see tmw. they are meant for the forest. you hit one bump with that theottle and you will regret it. these have thumb throttles for a good reason
These all have twist grips except for the one in my time lapse video. That had a thumb throttle because he wanted a wheelie machine.
I only fit twist throttle it's down to the rider I think....
Is riding quads on the street legal if registered
Max Ferguson with a car licence yes
Max Ferguson only in certain states
this is in the uk, its legal everywhere if registered
Some USA states allow it with proper licenses

Why do y’all have them sqidly lines in the road what do they mean in America all our lanes are straight
Because our roads are far more advanced than yours and each line has a different meaning.
Just noticed it is weston
Yes buddy.

Spent that much on his quad that he needs to skip the bridge toll lol

Don't notice it when you ride it. And it's all yamaha I don't touch that as it runs from the gearbox.
Jack Wass digital speedos suck ass.
Whats the top speed of a r1 powerd raptor?
Way faster than i would ride it, but 150mph would be about right i reckon
+Bart Spencer is it still controlable at that speed ?
+Bart Spencer is it still controlable at that speed ?
Umm, yeah they are not too bad, but a lot of effort is put in to set the geometry up for fast road use.
