I am just now noticing the nigh-ubiquity of the name Alex in anything Slender Man related online. Whether it's a character's name, a creator's name, or both, it just seems like a law of the universe that if you make anything Slender Man related, you've gotta have an Alex in there somewhere.
Yes, this was indeed enough of a thing that people noticed back in the day too. Many jokes about "if you know someone named Alex RUN" etc
I remember watching Night Mind coverage on the Slenderman mythos nearly a decade ago. How far this field has come since the heyday of the Big Three... (one of those three we don't really talk about anymore, but it was a pretty big one back then)

As a HUGE fan of Alex Hera, and a voice actor on this project, I am EXCEPTIONALLY proud of them and the work they've done. This documentary is going to be INSANE. Can't wait for y'all to watch it :)
The Stick-In-The-Mud holds a special place in my heart. He and The Rake was was really got the ball rolling for my interest in internet horror and ARGs. I've met so many wonderful people throughout the years because of him, and I'm grateful there's going to be a (good, *cough* hbo) documentary about his influence.

This is so cool! I always feel a little sad in stuff about slenderman they never talked about the slenderblogs, but we had so much fun writing them and interacting with each other, and some of that writing was really good! From an old hermit, it's nice to see we werent totally forgotten :3

@@alexhera_ Hey, Alex thanks so much for making this documentary and all your other work with unfiction. I cant prove this, but I was the writer of the blog "the tutorial," so got to interact with a ton of slenderbloggers. It was so cool, and I think a big thing people might not be aware of was that even though the video series were generally pretty masc the blogs had a lot of femme and queer people working on them. I always thought that was a really neat aspects of the blogs, and think something people miss about slenderman was the ability for marginalized people to create stories and be creative together. Anyway, good luck with this project and any others!

HOLY SHIT it'll be worth it just to see the interview with the Darkharvest00 crew. They were by far the most logged off of everyone despite having one of the best series, truly a black box

I wasn't knowing of most iconic slenderverse series when it was popular (Marble Hornets, Everymanhybrid), so i've never had the oportunity to experience so much hype until this trailer. This is so good!

You just dragged me back over a decade lol. I unfortunately caught it a bit too late. I was hanging out in the chatroom as things were dying off and the creators stopped showing up. I believe the OOG Tumblr blog posted something about a potential revival a year or two after it disappeared, but I don't think it ever gained any traction. It would be interesting though to see if the documentary gets any extra information on it. It would be some unexpectedly welcome closure.

This is going to be awesome. Alex is a great director. I remember watching Slenderman videos in Highschool, theorizing with my friends.
The slenderverse played a huge part in my early 2010s lol. I remember starting with marble hornets and then tribetwelve, EMH, Darkharvest00, MLanderson, etc. It was my introduction to ARGs. Its a shame most of them kinda gave up on the projects.
EMH and MarbleHornets finished. TribeTwelve is unfinished but will likely never be finished because the creator was cancelled for SA/rape accusations. Ever since that occured, he hasn't really been heard from. I have no doubt that is the reason he was not included in this documentary...he was one of the biggest 3 series. It's such a shame he did what he did.

Every horror game and Creepypasta fan's dream come true. My one hope is they do semi cover what happened when Slenderman got out of hand and a person's life was almost taken in real life. Even if it's just a couple minutes, it's just as important to Slenderman's history.
It is explored in the third film.

I don't think I've ever been so hype, I named my cat Proxy because I liked the idea of them from the lore created around Slenderman and Everymanhybrid scenes live in my head rent free
The Slenderverse is very near and dear to me, even all these years after it's faded from public consciousness. In fact, I'm just now wrapping up my yearly rewatch of your own Explained series (yes, even TribeTwelve.) I've continued to love Slenderman and the mythos surrounding him for years, and even attempted my own series once upon a time (It was a one-man production, and it was terrible.)
I've watched many, many video essays and video documentaries on the history of Slenderman, and the Slenderverse. I could narrate the story of Eric Knudsen, Something Awful, and Parsec Productions in my sleep. I could rattle off facts about Marble Hornets from memory. I consider myself a person who knows a LOT about Slenderman.
But y'know what?
I think I can make room for one more.
And with Part 1 coming out the day before my birthday, I'll just consider it an early gift :)

I think I'm most excited now for any potential series being announced by slender creators. I crave more Slenderverse stories. They were such a massive part of my life that I constantly return to the videos themselves and your series explanations. One of the scariest beings on the internet is my comfort space. How odd. XD

Oh, I’m out-of-my-mind excited! This seems like the culmination of the experience of those of us who’ve been here with Slenderman since his inception. It’s going to be great to see the whole story told by people who truly understand the history.
