In this video we demonstrate how the arpeggiator function works. Its currently being overhauled to run a bit smoother, up down, down up and up-down-up modes are currently being overhauled while more efficient note sorting algorithms are also being written to make adding and removing notes a bit more seamless.

This fits a lot of my needs. Will the arpeggiator work with synths with no local off? Like the Juno 106 which uses sysex?
    Thanks.

MIDI Goblin's arpeggiator, chord generator, arp-note and sequencer all work by transmitting standard MIDI on/off note messages.
The way synths react to these messages can vary a little bit. I have no access to a 106 but found a implementation chart of it (really bad quality scan though)
The midi implementation chart for the 106 says it can transmit and receive standard midi note on and off messages (not sysex)
Though it seems that notes need to be ON for 5ms before an OFF message can be received for the same note. I cant seem to find anything regarding how its local control could interfere with this but its possible the 106 might not be able to receive note off messages with local control on - this would be infuriating but possible.
You could test this out by hooking up a midi controller to the 106, pressing a key on the 106, - then while keeping it held down, pressing the same key on the midi controller and then letting go of the midi controller key while keeping the 106's key held down. Doing this would send a note OFF message for the note from the midi controller to the 106
-If the note turns off despite the key being held down on the 106 then its good news! This means the local control wont effect note off messages and you should be able to use all of the midi goblins note-based apps so long as your not running them at extraordinarily fast speeds.
-If the note continues to play after you let go of the key on the midi controller then its bad news! This means you wont be able to use the keyboard while running a midi goblin apps (basically making them really really infuriating to use / useless) so it worth testing this our first. I havnt run into any synths with this problem yet but the 106 is old and midi was still pretty young back then. With local control off the sequencer should still work but youd be missing out on a lot of awesome features.
The 106 could really benefit from the midi goblin sequencer, chord generator and arp-note so hopefully it will allow for note off messages to be received while notes are being played.
The tone parameters parameters on the other hand all seem to use sysex. It is certainly possible to send and receive sysex messages using midi goblin but I have not personally experimented with this very much. The reason being that unlike standard midi note/cc/program change messages, sysex message structures vary from synth to synth (each synth has different manufacturer and model ids and the size of the message has to be specified...there's a lot of room for human error and there's a lot of risk involved so I will likely never attempt to incorporate syxes into midi goblin myself....with that being said its definitively possible to do if you're familiar with sysex, decent at writing code and willing to take the risk.

Thanks for the detailed response. I will give it a try and let you know what results. I’m only after an arp and sequencer so the sysex control does not bother me.
I had looked at the Kiwi mod but the arp is monophonic.

@@rhodes1232 I always assumed the 106 had an arpeggiator. Thats a pretty wild downgrade from the 6 and 60. It honestly never even crossed my mind that the 106 wouldn't have one. I really gotta find one in toronto to test a midi goblin out on...
      The kiwi mod seems great!

I think i remember reading the arpeggiator was not added to keep the cost similar to the 60 with the MIDI implementation added. No idea if this is true. I have the circuit tracks hooked up to it and will test it out today.

Unfortunately the note keeps on playing on the Juno 106 when i release the key on the circuit. So looks like a no go.
