Hey Wunga - yes, all the sounds you hear come directly from the Shruthi (you can also send external sounds through through the Shruthi's filter if you like, but I didn't use that feature on this track). I recorded the various components of this song on 20 mono tracks in my Sonar DAW. I've added a link to a screenshot of the arrangement in the description, if you're interested.
Thanks! I was an absolute beginner too (aside from soldering some audio connectors) before I built my first Shruthi-1. Watched some through-hole soldering tutorials on UA-cam and it turned out great on the first try. There's a thread at the mutable-instruments forum about easier/cheaper yet worthwhile kits to build if you don't want to jump straight into the Shruthi-1. The 4-pole version is not harder to build, but you do have to source the parts yourself, so I'd suggest starting with the kit.
So all the drums etc emanate from the Struthi itself, it doesn't just manipulate whatever you feed into it? How many tracks would this particular tune equate to in a DAW? I don't really understand synthesisers.

This is some severely correct synthesizing. I am bouncing inter-dimensionally, just where I wanna be. Nice work.
Hi, I've just finished building a 4 PM and this video helped with the decision, thanks
If I came across this is a record shop I would buy it straight away.
Great Demo, the filter sounds sweet. Good work!
Great demo, great sound! I will give the shruthi a try.Is it difficult to build the 4-pole version? I am an absolute beginner in soldering ;)
Lovely stuff. Thanks!
Look at the talent on yah.

Thanks, you encouraged me! I will go for it ;)
Damn, that was close! Completely unintentional, though... really.
To me it sounds rather like typical glam rock. Just listen to, for instance, "Son of My Father" Chicory Tip.
