My guess is that the different orang asli still present in the peninsula did not assimilate into the culture. Wow a native singaporean malay who is not a muslim , the original malays we're worshippers of idolatry(Djinn), very interesting to see but also sad to know .
The Malayo-Polynesian peoples under the bigger family of Austronesians were Animists originally. Though some have argued that some worshipped one supreme god called Hyang where Sembahyang comes from. Then foreign religions like Buddhism and Hinduism came. Then came Islam
So they are not muslims? How come they can't be singaporean, during the separation of sg and my when they basically lived on the river and seas of singapore. Surely there's something that they can do to prove their nativeness to get a citizenship. Wheres their penghulu why didnt he do anything
@Sofea Yusoff Haha nice attempt but first off Bali are made up of mostly Hindus, if you're talking about Lombok, yes the majority are Muslims. My time, the Orang Seletar are animist. Only when they moved to Johor and mingled, only do some of them converted to Islam.
They're technically Malaysians now after the seperation. Singapore doesn't allow dual citizenship so they can't get Singapore citizenship while mantaining as Orang Seletar.

Dalam 19 suku kaum tu, mereka dibahagikan kepada 3 pecahan : - Semang/negrito - sakai/senoi - melayu tua/proto malay Orang asli suku kaum seletar kat atas ni di dalam kumpulan "melayu tua/proto malay".. Mengikut teori barat melayu terbahagi kepada 2 iaitu : 1) deutro malay / melayu modern - orang2 melayu kita sekarang la.. 2) proto malay / melayu tua - dimasukkan kedalam orang asli

Wow
Sad to see this authentic culture being discarded by the present generations. Many trying to be fake arabs.
👍👍👍
Is its black magic
To Singapore government, shame on you! These peoples have their rights.
Hello you got it wrong. It's the Malaysia government. These Seletar people are residing at Johor, Malaysia. Please view again the video.
Lol when you don't know history 😂
This is exactly what happened when you don't watch the whole video and blame the wrong government😂😂
When you are not only a JOKE. But an IDIOT as well!
Lol next time think before you speak!
👍🏽
Tuhan nanti marahlaah..
If the land is theirs, how could it be taken away by Johor government, the thing is, *the Land is not theirs to begin with.* Even many housing settlements in other states in Malaysia are on TOL, temporary occupied land.
What is 'ilmu' in english? Different kind of Knowledge ?
ilmu is knowledge in malay. but in this case the word "ilmu" is associated more towards the spiritual world or should i say witchcraft.
restu mumpuni As far as I know, it's a malay word derived from arabic word "ilm" that means literally "knowledge". But in this context I think the meaning is "metaphysics" or simply; "magic".
Thank you for feedback, that subtitle not translate 'ilmu' to english. not about magic i think, Maybe that is their ancient belief.
If i'm not wrong....it's the knowledge of black magic i think
Maybe magic can be blessings from spirits:) let us think of it in this manner. It seems to fit the context well.
Why this lady speak malay if the lady not malay
Mereka memang proto malay pun
They are malay lah😂 org seletar is part of the proto malay
sebab bahasa melayu dah jadi lingua franca dekat nusantara ni dari dulu lagi & satu lagi adalah sebab dia orang malaysia
Mereka masih melayu.. Ingat orang asli tu semua sama kah? Orang asli tu ada 19 suku kaum yg berbeza.. Dalam 19 suku kaum tu, mereka dibahagikan kepada 3 pecahan :
- Semang/negrito
- sakai/senoi
- melayu tua/proto malay
Orang asli suku kaum seletar kat atas ni di dalam kumpulan "melayu tua/proto malay".. Mengikut teori barat melayu terbahagi kepada 2 iaitu :
1) deutro malay / melayu modern
- orang2 melayu kita sekarang la..
2) proto malay / melayu tua
- dimasukkan kedalam orang asli
She's not a Malay because constitutiom of Malaysia ties Islam to Malay. But genetically, she's an Older Malay.
Aku bukan nak temberang la tapi klu bab ilmu hitam ni org sungai (Sabah) ler yg paling terror. Org Indonesia pon sampai gegar lutut klu jumpa kitorang. Hak3....
Life was good before Islam came in the picture somehow😊
Seletarians are not Malays, they're just one of the Malayic peoples like Kerinchis, Talang Mamaks, etc.
They're among the first-wave Hesperonesians, which means they exist much earlier than the ethnic Malays which only emerged since the Malaccan Sultanate initiated the contemporarily modern-day Malays.
Yes they are. LOL. We are Malays. Who are you to tell us otherwise?
@@Khatulistiwan Truth to be told. Instead of classifying yourself as a Malay which may lead to manipulations in the future, why don't you just accept the fact that you actually have your own mother tongue that's not Malay?
Triggered much? You don't have to, because it's merely all about ethnicity-based facts.
@@Khatulistiwan Stop call Orang Seletar, Orang Asli are Malays. Even they speak Malay, they aren't belong to Malay culture. Stop Malaysization other indegenous tribe/ community for Malay Supremacy
Your political malay supremacy is problem many tribes and indegenous ppl from Malays etnocentrism and primordialism.
"Sebelum orang Cina dan MELAYU datang."
LOL nak cakap melayu pendatang ke? Seletar people live at the sea, they do not know much about whats happening on the land, thats why bila nampak org melayu dia ingat org melayu tu bangsa baru
and i believe that orang seletar themselves are the predecessor of bangsa MALAYU. tengok diorang cakap pun fasih dalam bahasa melayu
Rasa dia nak ckp orang cina dan india
Kita Sume sama org NUSANTARA
Proto malay orang asli.. kenapa tidak dipanggil proto cina atau proto india..
Org asli pun korg nak claim
Siape yang claim?
Tan Ping Yi orang asli malay -proto
Singapore la claim.. Indigenous people of singapore??? But this whole documentary made in JOHOR
Claim ape bende?🤔
beautiful places...but what they talking l don't care..heard rubbish.
Syirik
Mereka tu Islam ke
Diorang bkan islam.
The malay she speaks sounds very indonesian
😂Sounds so far from Indonesian
Do you speak Malay? She doesn't sound like speaking Indonesian Malay at all
Speak 100% not indonesia
@@Noshtyyy Malay indonesian
this video is proof that malay are also pendatang in malaysia
khusnul blekty never heard malay archipelago?
Malays & Orang Seletars are both bumiputras, it's just that one became the majority, while there other became a minority. Both are Austronesians.
Orang Seletar are Proto-Malays.
They share a common origin with Malays.
The only difference is Proto-Malays choose to keep their ancient traditional seafaring lifestyle
Both are Austronesians..... 🤦🏽♂️
Orang Laut or Orang asli is Malay too, they are cousin, did you know Sakai, Orang Laut, also live in Sumatra? also Orang Asli also live in South Thailand.
