I miss old Ghost. They used to be one of my favourite bands but after Prequelle and especially Impera released I completely forgot about the band and how often i once listened to it. I really liked that slow, groovy and evil aesthetic first three albums had.
They’re still amazing, their sound just evolved. The new stuff is just as good, just different.
@@unknownentity9468 word, ive been listening to Ghost since Infestissumam's release which i have on vinyl and i still very much enjoy them. sure they have diverged relatively significantly from the days of Opus Eponymous in terms of musical style, but like you said: different doesnt mean bad. though to be very fair to Ghost the evil/dark/satanic aesthetic never really left, after Meliora they just repackaged it into a different musical style.
Makes sense. Around the making of Meliora is when Forge started cleaning house of the old band members, the ones that subsequently sued, and replacing them with more convenient staff. The shift in sound from Infestissumam to Prequelle checks out pretty well for that.
Ghost is one of my favourite modern bands and I’ve always loved their aesthetic, plus you just can’t deny that they have some devilishly badass riffs in all their songs. So fucking fun to play, great as always man

One of them came out and revealed themself. They were in another band and they’re starting to release music again or have since the reveal. That’s just as good as ghost. Just somewhat unknown

Ghost wrote one of the best records of all-time and my personal favorite record.
Then they wrote other music and never captured that magic or spirit again. The getting popular doesn’t mean they made better music
Ghost is amazing. I saw them open for Iron Maiden back in 2017 I think it was. I want to see them headline. Especially now since their newest albums released.
A friend of mine from college saw them back in 2022 and he said they put on a really good live show, I wanna see them at some point as well
