- Anissa assaulting Mark is one of the most controversial moments from the comics. As a result, the animated series is likely to avoid adapting it. However, the scene is also crucial to the overall plot, as it eventually leads to the introduction of Markus Murphy, the biological son of Mark and Anisaa, who becomes a major character later on. If Invincible season 2 avoids the controversial scene between Mark and Anissa, Markus’ storyline from the comics will likely be completely altered. However, the series could still introduce Markus as an alternate reality offspring of Mark and Anissa, where they had a consensual relationship. The series has already shown alternate realities where Mark sides with the Viltrumites, making Anissa an ideal partner for him.

Yeah, would’ve been so much better if they hadn’t screwed it up in season 1, but this was still a well-acted sad scene.

As much as I didn’t like Amber at first and as inevitable as some kind of break-up was, it was pretty emotional I can’t lie. It really puts into perspective just how dangerous and taxing dating a superhero can be beyond them just not being around; you become a vector for their enemies to use against them INCREDIBLY easily, to the point of being cannon fodder. Amber’s life is genuinely in danger being with Mark, especially since Viltrumites are incredibly ruthless and know who Mark is outside of the Invincible persona. This is genuinely a great culmination of their relationship as it shows they tried and found that it simply wouldn’t be worth it to have Amber’s life at such risk while also having Mark so estranged from what’s actually going on with it.

They redeemed Amber in my eyes, but I am happy to see her go. I t was loooooooooooooooooooooong overdue
Superhero shows and comics are nothing like the old days which in my opinion is good because it makes the characters feel real. Audiences want characters in tv, comics and novels to feel real.
I know it's sad they broke up again, but at least it was mutual and Amber had a good, understandable reason this time

The music didn't affect my emotions towards Amber and this relationship. I'm so relieved it's over lol. Amber was never loving, kind or supportive enough. I get why in the end anyone would want to break up but she wasn't likeable from the very beginning. Some sad music doesn't make me all of a sudden like her lol

Honestly, with anyone else, they could've made it work. But when an entire planet is specifically gunning for you and your father, romance can't work.
Stick to superheroes who only have, like, 1 recurring enemy, not an entire planet Amber.
Why assume it wont adapt a pivotal moment of the story?
Watching that episode was pretty emotional for them because she couldn’t handle him getting hurt anymore and he needs to figure it out if he is in love with Samantha and he’s been through so much over the season and she has now that they realize that the only way is to let them go

This is the Spider-Man 3 idea done right. Loved the execution and i was actually much more invested in the character developments than the brutal action scenes. That says a lot of great things of this season. Hope they can keep it up in 3.
