This episode made it clear to Mark and Amber how fragile their relationship has gotten through despite the circumstances between his life with and without superheroics. With the looming threat of Anissa and other Viltrumites, their romance had become the straw that broke the camel's back.

Damn that was cold lol. It was obvious they were going to break up, but the last scene between them was actually well done. Although it felt like the show overcorrected with Amber cause of the hate she got last season lol.

Mark couldn't even scratch Anissa, and Allen was able to make her stagger *and* draw blood. So yeah Allen really wasn't kidding last episode when he said he'd win against Mark lol.
it's beginning to feel like dragonball. anissa being nappa with mark yet to meet the viltrumite equivalent of vegeta. but mark is nowhere near having a power level over 9000.
Especially since Allen did seem to beat mark the first time they met. He keeps having fun with Mark 😂

Mark is stronger than every hero and villain on earth. Even stronger than immortal this shows you that he just chooses to hold back there for also making himself vulnerable.

I dunno how she was in the comic, but they really improved on Amber this season. I wouldn't have batted an eye if they broke up last season, but it kinda tugged at my heart strings here. Not much, but it was there.
Amber in the show was never depicted the way she was in the comics she was very understanding, they fixed her this season and made her like comic counterpart
I feel like the way they went is kind of realistic for a healthy relationship between a superhero and a human being together but it just does not work out because their lifestyles are way too different. It's kind of like what they say in the comics. Superheroes are different in the fact that humans don't take the time to look up in the sky because why would they, they live completely grounded.

Seeing/hearing Anissa literally gave me chills throughout my body, because of what it means for the future and specifically who will come next sesson!
Also i love how they used Ryan Ottely as a stand in for Philip, dude is genuinely the best artist out there and one of the reasons this is my favorite comic book of all time!

I really do wish the art was closer to Ryan's in this show. I just can't see some of the upcoming fights living up to the actual God Tier shit Ryan drew.
@MandatoryFruit yeah it sucks they only contracted Cory walker to design the characters, as much as I'm thankful for Cory starting with Robert, Ryan is the one who made this such an iconic series with his style!

Yeah, I think Allan saw an opportunity to find Nolan at the prison. He learned quickly in those 15-20 seconds that he could take the Viltrumites in a fight now.
I think Omni-man was holding back and that is why Annisa appears more powerful.

Not really. Omni Man didn't always hold back, and he isn't really the strongest viltrumite. One of the characters did say Annisa was faster Nolan, and that wouldn't be said for no reason. Strength does effect speed, so that means Annisa is above his level.

Based on how certain things of the show are different compared to the reading, there might be a chance that Anissa does not do what she does originally to Mark. They could decide to go into a different direction, maybe like a new reason for her despicableness.

I have an awful feeling that Mark asking his mom how she thinks her life would have been without Nolan is gonna come back next episode. Seems like foreshadowing, especially with a multiverse travelling enemy. I know what ends up happening in the comics, but they love making pretty significant changes here and there and have been wondering about this part.

That quicker than Nolan line doesn't mean shit. U guys do realize that Nolan was MASSIVELY holding back against Mark, right? Also, we saw his real speed in the Flaxan dimension, which no one on Earth did👍🏻
Look, overall I think they did a decent job with fixing Amber’s character. The problem is that it’s just so painfully obvious how drastic her character change in Season 2 is compared to what she was like in Season 1. Looking back at what she was like then and what she is now is literally like looking at night and day! You can't tell me they're the same person! Some will make the argument that people can change, but not to the point where they literally sound and act like a completely different individual. At first she was overly judgmental and narcissistic and always making Mark feel like he was the one in the wrong. But now she’s Mark’s “yes” woman, agreeing with everything he says no matter what and doesn't have a single negative or critical thing to say about him at all. “You’re leaving to go to space? Ok babe no problem.” “You were gone for 2 months straight making me believe you were possibly dead? It’s all good!” YOU CAN BE MAD ABOUT THAT! That is a basic human emotion and a completely normal and understandable reaction to something like that! Even Mark’s own mother was upset with him about it because he left her all alone and she didn’t know if he was even alive or not. The thing that people didn’t like about Amber was that in Season 1 she would get mad at Mark for things that weren’t his fault or that he did nothing wrong period. But that doesn’t mean she has to now agree with EVERYTHING he does or says! It's like they flipped a switch from her being overly condescending to now being overly supportive. She literally says stuff this season that are completely opposite to what she said last season! I don’t want them to bring her back as a toxic character or say that they should undo all the improvements they’ve given to her character. I’m just saying there needs to be a balance somewhere between being overly toxic and overly supportive, because this doesn’t feel natural.

18:24. Maybe it's just me, but I feel Levy's hatred of our Mark is unjustified. Levy did say that in most other dimensions Invincible helps Omni Man take over the planet, but our Mark didn't. Sure, the transfer memories of his other selves showed him what an evil Invincible could be like for us, but he knows our Invincible is a hero. If Levy is mad at Mark for stopping his memory transfer, as Mauler pointed out by stopping the memory transfer machine it caused all of his other selves to die & his brain to be deformed. Also, Levy was the 1 who decided to transfer 1,000 minds all at once instead of 1 at a time, so it really his own carelessness that caused him to become a villain. Finally, I feel Levy should have teamed up with our Mark to learn more about why he opposed Omni Man & the Viltrumite Empire since he knows most Marks team up with them. If he discovered why our Mark was unique in wanting to protect Earth they could find a way to stop the Viltrumite Empire here.
I think you’re putting too much trust in Levy’s mental state. The truth is he’s messed up. The whole procedure scrambled his brain, so Levy just doesn’t act reasonably. You saw his whole mutation, his brain is filled with so many memories and information he doesn’t even know from which iterations of his. He is manic, psychotic and mad, he won’t see Mark any other way than his imperialistic evil doubles from other dimensions.
Well like the Mauler said earlier this season, he has all of the minds mixed together, and potentially 80% of those Angstroms delt with an evil Mark, so they are seeing with an evil lens when it comes to Mark!
Its probably cause he mind melded with his other version.
He can't keep the memories separate, in his mind every mark did every bad thing
He probably feels as if this is a dimension where mark hasn’t turned evil yet so he wants to save it while he can by killing him
This episode perfectly shows why I have never been behind the romance of Superman and Lois Lane. For exactly the same reasons as Mark and Amber.
But the difference is Lois is a badass that is almost always ready for shit to happen. Not saying Amber is this or that, just that they are really really different

I'm also an Invincible Atom Eve shipper, but I felt bad for Amber and Mark this episode. So I'm totally with Jaby. I wasn't a fan of Amber in season 1, but they really tried writing her to be a loving character who tries this season. And you can see that they both really love each other, but know it can't work out. And those might be the worst kind of breakups.
The animation joke was in the comics but related to comics and it was translated beautifully

This episode was a good setup, hopefully, a lot of bad ass action to wrap up the season. Glad I got to see an upgrade on Rex. I wonder if that enhancement blast is a charging build up from him using his powers.

Cecil is literally like Nick Fury. He is doing everything he can to keep Earth alive and since he has learnt of the Viltrumites and their Empire he is scared the planet is one day away from destruction. If he doesn't want you to get vacation and free time, it's for a good reason. To me right now they are like 30 years late in this war. Honestly I don't even know how they gonna fight them if not for Allen and Omniman.
Believe me when I say Anissa is a character that is not only scary but in the long term future of the show she is going break Mark in countless ways emotionally, physically and psychologically, I won't spoil anything from the comics though.
Though I am glad Mark and Amber broke up for the better I will say they wrote Amber really well in this season and at least for me personally they redeemed her form Season 1 and made her more reasonable until she reached her logical breaking point when it came to how fragile her and Marks relationship was.

I really think Anissa should have explained the downside of Viltrumite rule, like she did in the comics. Right now, she left it at "this world would be a utopia under us" and didn't finish the sentence.
