Hey, friends! Hope you enjoyed today's video about "How I Remember Everything I Read in Medical School". Take advantage of our free 3-step study course to study faster and save more time by visiting this link: (themdjourney.com/study-rehab/) Good luck on your journey! 💪
Biggest takeaway from this video is to always question the big "WHY". Why are you learning this concept for? Why is this so important? Why and how does it affect the patient? Why is this range of values important and if it deviates, what detrimental effects does it cause? Learning is the concept of your brain piecing together previously known information and synthesizing it into a concept that you are able to understand. "Remembering" is the basis of Bloom's taxonomy of learning, but these days facts can be easily googled.
I'm in the last year of high school in Mexico, I wanna study medicine and I'm about to do the test application to join to the college, ty for the tips :)
hewoo, i too just got over the highschool phase and got into a medical clg this year - i know its a tough phase that you are gonna go through so tons of hugs and love to you 😤 stay and strong and try your vv best!
Hii doc... love your videos ❤.... can you pls make a video on the resources that you study as an Internal Medicine resident like the books or other helpful videos etc. Also do share how you keep notes of the diseases and treatments that you come across in the hospital on a regular basis. 🙏🥺
I'm in my last year of high school and my exams are in 2 months hopefully I'll be able to get good grades and get into medical school. so I'm saving your videos for later😁
Yesss a fellow pdf xchange user! Though I really recommend you to switch over to pdf xc editor from pdf xc viewer, it is much much better. (I did exactly that about a year ago) Much more customizability and ease of use.
I like this way cause it saves a lot of time but how do you suggest trying to really understand the information before making a question out of it? It's easier to remember if you understand it in your own words, where notes are needed
Sometimes I pair my reading with a short video about the topic so if I see the same topics in both areas that's a good hint. Truth is that you likely will pay attention to more detail then you need to and that's okay. It'll improve with practice
I love the notion method. Do you happen to know if there’s a way to convert all your notion questions and answers into Anki without manually entering all of them?
Kinda in the fence about going to med school...I mean i am still a junior i still have lottsss of time i just know i wanna major in human biology But what's ur take-u lose ur social life and a lot of relationships and med school takes away a lot of fun.Is it worth it
1. I enjoy medicine and have found ways to balance the other aspects of my life (I talk about it a lot on this channel). But not everyone deals with the business well 2. You have to ask yourself why you want to be a doctor. It's hard and often the money is not worth it. So if you're still interested then you will be going in it for the right reason. 3. I was able to manage a relationship with my now wife and family without any issues. It just requires mental reminders to step away from med school and give those relationship attention as well.
I'm in med school, my suggestion to most people is to not do it. They don't pay doctors fairly in the US relative to the time and stress/competition that it takes to become one. Your country may be different.

i write down 400 times to remember and understanding is key what do you think
Thanks for the question. Lot more efficient ways to remember things than the rewriting strategy!

Great insight! And yes more questions you ask before doing the "learning" the easier the rest of it gets
This is actually a great way of creating a database for future reference when actually in practice.
i just love how he tries to put more examples while explaining and also gives the summary in the end! thank you sir!

At10:28 what is the anki add-on that you have at the bottom (above the buttons) ?
Not an add on but part of the custom deck I was using. They sorted based on tags I believe and links.
Most people use the Ars Notoria.
How can you tell what’s important when everything seems important?
