Rules and details
Build a LEGO model to fit into one of three categories:
-Supercars
-Trucks
-Anything but a supercar or a truck (Spacship, Boat, Airplane, etc)
You're allowed to submit one model in all three categories, though you'll only be able to pick up a price in one of the categories.
No multiple winning participants.
Allowed:
-All three types of LEGO parts (Technic, System, Duplo)
-Custom stickers (And official ones of course)
-3D-printed parts
-Third-party electronics (SBrick, Buwizz, LightmyBricks, etc)
-Rubber bands of different brands
-Digitally built models (LDD and such)
Not allowed:
-Cutting parts (Exception: Baseplates and Hose pieces)
-Glue
-Tape
-Custom painted pieces
-Official sets
Requirements and limits:
-No age requirements, or limits, for the person entering
-No size requirements, or limits, for the submitted model
-No requirements for RC
-No requirement for the model being a replica of any real life model
Price:
-Supercar category: 75880 Speed Champions McLaren
-Truck category: 42059 Technic Pull back truck
-Anything but.. category: 31042 Creator Airplane
-All categories: Surprise gift
Submitting the model:
-Take a total of 6 images and film a short video (Maximum 30 secs) showing of your models eventual functions. (Video is optional)
-Write me an E-mail, telling me which category you're entering, and attach the photos
-Mark the subject of the mail with: 10k Building competition
-Wait until the competition time is over
-IMPORTANT: Keep your model intact until the winners have been revealed, you'll need your model intact in order to prove you're the correct person to recieve the price (In case you're one of the winners)
-Last day for entering will be 20th of August, 2017

I find that very interesting and very fine to suggest a competition between all Lego lovers. There is even a price ! Very nice from a student that don't hace a big amount of money (I know this situation, it's aint easy every day).

Nice music for this video though! I watch Sariel a lot and he has some nice music, but most of the time it's pretty boring.
Can I ask questions? First, how did you get started on Legos, and then on Technic and PFs. Second, how/why did you decide to do UA-cam?
I'm a huge LEGO enthusiast (I have at least $2500 worth of sets), and have posted two of my smallest creations, but I'd like to get the inside scoop of how much time, money, and effort it takes to run a moderately sized channel. Any feedback would be appreciated.

+Joseph G That sounds great! Thank you! Well LEGO have been part of my life since I was born, in different forms. Like Duplo at first and gradually working myself up to regular LEGO. In 2011 I got Technic set 8109, which got me into the Technic world for real, and PFs followed after that within a short manner of time. Autumn 2014 I posted my first LEGO related video on UA-cam, though I can't actually remember exactly why I did it🤷 I'll check out your channel for sure👍☺
Ahh, yes, the flatbed truck! For me personally, I think that's one of the best-looking sets LEGO Technic has ever released. Nice choice! My first was the 8081 Extreme cruiser.

I have a question : Will it be alright if you would build 2 trucks, and you submit them both. Both trucks are in the 4 pictures you made, will they count as 1 build?
+Kacper's Workshop Depends on if the trucks are related in some way, like the same brand or something. But generally I would prefer seeing just one model. But again, depends on the situation☺

imho keeping a model built is a huge limitation, a MOC can take a huge amount of pieces and not everyone has big collections
+lxf2001 It is however possible to send in a photo of your address along with your model, which effectively proves you're the true creator of the model. And that way the model can be disassembled before the competiton ends

So, I have a question. Can vehicles made before this video was released, be submitted for the challenge? Or do the models have to be built after this video was posted? Also, does it have to be a vehicle?
+Samuel Goff Older models are okay to submit as well👍 well technically you could submit anything under the "anything but.." category, but I would recommend building some sort of vehicle. Btw what would you like to build that isn't a vehicle?☺

+Matteo Ursini Yes Mindstorm are allowed. Hmm well you could submit dakar-like models to the Supercar category, but I would personally consider them suiting better in the "anything but.." category☺
There's one thing you haven't addressed in the video and it might be quite important. Also I'm pretty curious. Is it mandatory for the MOC to be build specifically for this competition or could the MOC be let's say a year old or sth? Personally, I'd build a new one. Feels less like a cheating to me 😄

The answer to your question is no, the model doesn't have to be built specifically for this competition. Your fully allowed to submit older models, as long as they still exist physically. Of course you're free to build a new one if you would like to👍😉

+Nameless Brick Yes sports cars fall under the same category as supercars. And there's a limit of one model per category, per individual. So no, you can only submit one supercar (or sports car)☺

What's the point of making your model RC when you can only submit photos of it?

When you say "truck" do you mean just work and container trucks, or do you also mean pickup trucks and trophy trucks?

Nope, no knock off parts are allowed. With the exception of 3D-printed parts that isn't copying any existing LEGO parts, like custom wheelcovers
