Relatability topic - I am very happy with my life since I have kids and family. Would never change it for anything! If I come here it's mostly to get inspiration for home decor, gardening, outfit or meal ideas. I guess, lots of people who watch your vlogs are like me. I don't want to be "another Lydia" 😆, just to get inspiration in certain areas. I am happy and grateful for my life, my body and my health.❤

I’ve been clean eating along with you for the last two months. However, last week was a tough week for me and I got three meals from fast food restaurants. They actually made me sick. I was exhausted, confused, irritative, and emotional. When I realized all of these symptoms were from my poor eating, I started eating whole foods again or foods from made scratch and I almost instantly felt better. I’m energetic, happy, and just genuinely loving life again.
Lydia, I’m 26 and I’ve been watching your videos for years and absolutely love them. I’m actually on universal credit, and whilst your content is out of reach for me currently, it gives me hope. I’m educated to masters level, but like you, I have been struggling with suspected PMDD, and have not yet found a career that I can maintain due to symptoms (usually being fired as I won’t deal with the ignorance). I’m not sure if you’ve heard of the hierarchy of needs, but aesthetic needs are incredibly important. Seeing beautiful ways of life, beautifully crafted pieces, the beauty of nature. You shine a light on this and allow us to see beauty beyond the everyday, which is so much more important than I think you realise. (And Hearing you speak about taking your own food to events is a relief, as I’m always worried about suggesting less processed food during meet ups with friends (and being a nuisance)). Just thought I’d comment as I found this vlog particularly relatable. Thank you for sharing your experiences!
I've been a subscriber for a long time and have enjoyed your content from the beginning. Sometimes people equate being relatable with the attainability of material things. I think you're both relatable AND aspirational. Especially after reading Evergreen and also listening to the audiobook, there were so many moments that I felt so seen! I think that on a base level you can relate to most humans because we're all here trying to make the best of the time we have. To be the best we can be and hopefully live a wonderful life surrounded by the people and experiences that make life worthwhile. The aspirational part is that you've worked so hard for everything you have achieved and have crafted such a lovely life for yourself and seeing that makes me feel like I can do that as well. It takes time and knowledge and a lot of hard work but seeing all you have achieved makes trying to do that in my own life a little less scary. It's been so beautiful to see your journey and growth and inspires me to continue growing as well :) we never do stop changing, learning, etc. How boring would that be if we felt like we did it all haha?! The journey is as important as the destination. Sorry for the ramble, but all this to say thank you for creating a space that feels like such a comfort but also motivation to live our own lives to the fullest!

Absolutely take your own food, those items you know you'll need. Years ago, a girlfriend and family who were vegan came to stay, brought food items they didn't expect me to have. I spent a huge amount of time discussing their lifestyle, then spent more time researching when they were gone, so next time they visited I could happily provide for them. They were so happy, but mostly grateful for my effort to embrace their needs and understand the lifestyle. We are not vegan, but will support our friends.
Monday and Thursdays are my favourite because of you. It's always an exciting day when the beautiful Lydia uploads. ❤

Lydia, I've been following you for just over a year, and this is the first time I'm commenting. To me, in so many ways you are not relatable. I live in the middle of the US, and while I make a good living, I don't make an "Hermes bag" or "Dior gown" living (yet!). And in so many ways, you are relatable, because I'm the type of woman who is gardening with a manicure, who loves being outdoors and in the countryside, and also loves the finer things in life, and who works hard to get what she wants. The success you have is inspirational, and aspirational for me. There are plenty of people who want relatable content, and that's wonderful for them, but that's not for me. And if other people are not looking for aspirational content, they have a responsibility to tune out, you do not have a responsibility to change your content for them. Anyways -- an incredibly long post just to say keep doing you, and those of us who are here for the right reasons will continue to be inspired by you ♥

A number of your PMDD symptoms also sound like you could be “peri menopausal” too Lydia, might be worth asking your doctor about that also.
Exactly, what I was thinking of. 35 is the age some women start menopause. But, I think this may not be new symptoms. I’m amazed by women who are high functioning, and have these hormonal challenges. I’ve gotten away pretty easily, but my sister has had some challenges.
These aren’t new symptoms for her so I doubt that
She's been experiencing the same issues for years, I've been following her for quite a while and I was pretty sure it was PMDD from the start

I was having the same symptoms. Depression, night sweats, heavy period and painful, headache. I watched a doctor talking about it and she said that was because our bodies are not producing enough Progesterone. I started to use Wild Yam Cream and that changed my LIFE!!! Your natural hair has so much potential with the right products! My curls are thriving without sulphate and silicons when washing and with a good curl cream and then gel that holds the moisture and curls in place! Gel really makes a huge difference! That’s why I enjoy your content because I’m so future driven and focused on how every aspect of my life could improve for my happiness and success. I love both sides of the coin. I love hiking with my friends running our dog and the simple things. But I love making plans for a deserved holiday and getting dressed up for a big event like horse racing. Just wanted to let you how much you Inspire me! I am a 48 year young and from Sweden. I never been, as a a teenager or as an adult, a woman who knew how to dress o do makeup. I became a mother at ages 24 and all my money and interest went to my kids. I have always like how I look, still do,. But I've always had the feeling of missing out of how to be feminin. Now my kids sre grown up, and it'd time for me now! I watch yourd and Alex videos here and started to feel the joy of shopping the right stuff for me. To shop the things I like, to find my style (which always has been like yours and Alex, just didn't know how to express it). To find me, my style and be able to shop a few luxury Items to enhance the style and feeling of it. It's all thanks to you and Alex❤️! So happy you’re reaping the rewards of your diet changes, I recently did the same, had always considered myself a healthy eater, but have now cut out all processed foods, so no longer even having occasional bar of chocolate or crisps. My go to snack is hot water and lemon and an apple rather than tea and a biscuit. I have no cravings either. I also have pmdd although now in menopause.. new diet just feels right.. good for you ❤

Relatability topic: I’m here bc I relate to your hard working. I’m 40 with my chanel bag, my luxury favorite items, my little own house, my most wanted career, but loosing my summers, working so much, living a different life than my family and friends. I'm not sure how you feel about 'what I eat in a day' videos but I would love to see more of the wholefoods you're eating for inspo! I also suffer with my hormones and I am not diagnosed but I do have symptoms of PMDD so I am trying to start my own journey in this area!

I hate to say this, but candles can affect your hormones. Many are not made with pure essential oils and the fragrances can be very harmful over time.

You should try seed cycling!! I watched a podcast that a Dr was on and it's a natural way of balancing oestrogen and progesterone. The first half of your cycle you a table spoon of ground pumpkin seeds and flax seeds a day and the second half sesame seeds and sunflower seeds. You can add them to smoothies and salads. Its really helped me manage my PMDD ❤️ definitely worth researching

Working 3 jobs during university/college is very relatable, at least in the United States. I did the same and so did most of my friends and people I knew. Maybe not as common in the UK.

It’s common for small dog breeds to be allergic to poultry. Traditionally vets would recommend giving them chicken and rice or scrambled eggs because it was thought to be easily digested. For small breeds, commonly allergic to poultry this can often make them feel worse.
Actually many dogs are alllergic to chicken.. 🤷♀️
Loving the food/healthy eating content and would love to see much of this and meal/food inspiration/recipes/ideas etc. Been on a similar journey myself since January but it went ‘by the way’ whilst in london last week for a few days - can relate at how very difficult it is to keep on track eating healthy away from home. ❤

In regards to relatability I completely agree! I don’t have the app be-real for that reason I really don’t care to see your relatable breakfast, or real house. If your my friend I will watch you eat your every day meals. As I will eat mine, and I’ll see your relatable home as you will see mine. If I am close to you I’ll know the ins and outs of your life. I love being inspired and motivated by the people I follow and subscribe to. I learn so much about life and the world by doing this. I completely understand why people compare themselves to others. But personally I love seeing people thrive, I see no damage in wealthy healthy people taking care of themselves and their loves ones. I care about attitudes and values people share and of course I don’t enjoy content no matter how rich someone is if they are rude or miserable. But I love seeing people do well! ❤
Lydia I love your content. I do not relate to everyone, nor do I need to. I love your home and your life is fun to watch because it is a break from mine. I am sure my life is not relatable to everyone either and as a person entering content creation as a woman of 61 getting reading to retire and travel with my husband I love getting inspiration from others not like myself.
