Hi Lydia, I've been following you for nearly 7 years. Started in my mid 30's, when you were still in your 20's. I mention that as a preface to say, after all these years i just about never comment. I think this is my third comment on one of your videos in over 7 years. I watch your vlogs without fail, and this is by far my absolute favourite of yours. It is the perfect balance of beauty (which is often and sadly perceived as a vacuous pursuit, yet need not be, if and when presented well), which you have nailed! :) It is beauty with substance, a glimpse into where something can start and end (ie: botanicals, into stunning fragrance, amidst beautiful locations etc) It is obviously something that the French have perfected over the centuries. Anyway, thank you for the perfect balance of fashion on this trip, plus travel, plus soul full-filling projects (botany) that have amounted to a stunning vlog. Complete side note - I haven't been able to take my eyes off your watch, just wondering 2 things, is it the Tank Francaise? I've had my eye on that model before, but only ever seen it in photos online. Second question- is it yellow gold as it's sometimes tricky with lighting to ascertain whether it's yellow or rose gold. Either way, it is simply stunning. :) Love from Australia.

What a beautiful trip!! Amazing chateaus..landscaping..gardens..places to stay!! Loved all the green in that one chateau..a dream 😍 Thank you sooo much for taking us along 💟
I watched this before I started planning my trip to the Loire - thanks Lydia your vlog was so inspirational. I managed to visit all 3 chateaux you included here as well as many others because I had set aside 10 days for this area of France. I think one of my most favourite memories of this trip was walking under the grapevine colonnades at Villandry 🏰 tasting the various grape varieties 🍇
Gorgeous! Absolutely gorgeous! Breathtaking chateaus with some amazing antiques and glorious gardens! I could ride along for these Chateau tours all day long! If you want an excuse to go to France frequently and start a chateau tour series, I’m definitely on board! I love beauty and it’s everywhere you look! Loved this vlog!
Paintings never need glass (if on canvas, wood pane etc) - if it is a work on paper then it should be behind glass. To keep the work looking it’s best, you would ideally use a glass with a high UV protection.
I was that absorbed in the vlog, feeling as though as I was in Paris with you, that I lent forward to smell the perfume that you sprayed. So wished you tube had smellovision. This by far, is my favourite vlog that you have done Lydia, thank you for taking the time to show us all of the details, the château’s are absolutely beautiful.
Lydia I have watched all your videos since Covid and must tell you that this one was exceptional, the photography with all the beauty. Even your dresses matched the settings perfectly.👌😍
The plant you liked is called Russian Sage :) It’s best suited for a well draining area because they’re like lavender and prefer to be a little more on the dry side. Lots of people will use them in gravel gardens

Oh Lydia. Three years since Lynx has been lost. I'll always remember because I was about to pop with my daughter Nora and I was on maternity leave before she was born. And every day I'd check in to see if Lynx was found. I'm not really a cat person but I know how much you loved that cat. No one can say you didn't do everything in your power to find him. I'm glad you're finding little hints of Lynx in Barkley. That's so wonderful.
Just tuned in and we cannot wait to tag along with you to France..... Lydia would it not be AMAZING to get a property in France..... more affordable outside the popular spots of course!!!
Thanks Lydia for pretty much being one of the vlogers I depend on to get your content out when you say you will. It was the 4th of July in the US and you still produced. I have been sick in the house with covid and some other stuff. What a great pleasure to see you posted. So thanks for that. I really needed that vlog. Hopefully your still enjoying your weather.
So, as someone who follows a lot of Chateau owners here on YT, I would recommend Stephanie who owns Chateau de LaLande. Her channel is "Chateau Diaries" and she is the loveliest person. It's like a comfort channel for me and I often binge watch her videos when stressed. She is also very knowledgeable and , when she visited the second chateau you visited, she did a lovely vlog where she shared lots of historical facts, stories and general info.
Lydia - you are literally one of my absolute fave creators BUT the length of the videos makes me want to weep! Exam in 20 days but I’ve got 5 videos to catch up on. 😭😭😭😭
Oh Lydia, I absolutely loved this video. I toured the Loire Valley and visited many of the chateaus when I was in my 20's. I just loved it. I remember especially the chateau over the river which you said was privately owned by famous French chocolate makers. I had no idea, I thought it was a museum. We also went to a winery and toured the champagne makers, I remember buying my first bottle of champagne there and bringing it home. I was especially impressed with Fouquet's chateau Vaux-Le-Vicomte, not sure you went there (interesting story behind that one!). The food and your hotel there looked fabulous. I actually thought the 4 men singing at the end were going to break out in a Beach Boy song. But that would be strange. Many of the garden inspirations for French garden design came from Italian Maria De Medici and the Italian formal garden style. Thank you for this video, sweetie. I love the same things you do and I miss my animals when I am away, too.
This was such a beautiful video. Thank you for taking us along on your wonderful trip! I will be checking out this fragrance Co. ❤️🤗❤️you are beautiful too!

I don’t like mainstream perfumes, so L’Artisan Parfumeur is a good discovery! i would love to smell them.
Exactly 3 weeks i will be doing exactly the same trip in france(paris and loire valley)ii planned the trip since may! Hopefully i will get to see some interesting places to eat to shop etc through this vlog!

Thank you for sharing this. This so reminded me of a summer spent in the Loire valley - we stayed in a lovely little gîte. We finished up in Paris for a few days. I remember finding out that Chateau de Chenonceau was used as an escape route during WW2, as one side of the river was in occupied France and the other side wasn't.

Hi Lydia. Enjoyed your tour around the different Chateaus. Absolutely stunning. The Perovskia is a Russian 'Sage' . I live in Hampshire and it grows very well here as a border plant.
The purple plant that looks like lavender is Russian Sage. It blooms for a long time in the heat of the summer. It is a low maintenance plant that doesn't need/like fertilization and can withstand dry conditions. Very beautiful!
Congratulations on a wonderful video. Completely agree with so many other comments, it is so lovely to see you a happier, more mature, person. I left you for quite a while, but am glad I have come back. You have definitely found a groove that brings out the best in you, and I have no aspirations to emulate your life, but I find your videos uplifting and interesting. May you always find your happy place.❤️

Thank you for de Chenonceau, Lydia! It's on my list to still see, but already among favourites based on what I've seen and know about it. I agree with you, it's best to take the full day to explore each château, otherwise you feel rushed 🌞

WOW that is game changing those wrist towels. I hate when I wash my face and the water runs down my arms. Being a seamstress I shall make me a set. Thank you ☺️
This video makes me want to go spend time in France and visit all those beautiful castles 💕thanks so much for this vlog Lydia, well done ! Love , Sil x
Magnifique!!!! Thanks for the visit... I enjoyed it very much!! You should definitely buy a castle and renovate it....I am sure it will be amazingly and perfectly decorated !!! 😍🏰😍
49:14 You need to work on that Lydia. It’s quite a low vibration and you need to shift it: lack of compassion, lack of empathy, I am better than you, you are not enough… basically lack of love. I am grateful that the owners of this beautiful estate have decided to share its beauty with other people in the hope that they will be able to admire and love this place as much as they do and experience the beautiful emotions that such views can give. Truly a gesture of love. Besides, I enjoyed this vlog !
Thank you so much for taking us with you on this amazing trip to France. I will probably never get there, but seeing it through your eyes has really been wonderful.
Lydia, have you considered commissioning a painting of your own kitchen garden. I think it would be stunning, especially its summer profile. I love the view!
So wild you have wrist water drip soakers! I’ve thought about that forever and even told Natural Life on IG they should make some! They never have, but was so excited to see yours. I’ll have to look at where you got them. I cannot stand water running up my arms when I wash my face in the sink. Thanks for letting us know!
Château de Chenonceau definitely is a princess castle. It is stunning in winter, the galerie is full of Christmas trees and looks breathtakingly beautiful ❤️ The kitchen is incredible and well worth a visit!!!
While Chenonceau is certainly worthy of a princess, I believe it was actually Chateau d'Usse where Sleeping Beauty was written (and presumably inspired). I'd love to see it in winter!
The château de Chenonceau is also called: Château des Dames ( ladies castle) because a lot of powerful women owned it...like Catherine de Médicis.......💗

Your garden looks beautiful, your dresses looked great and the destination in France was just the cherry on top! Wowsers! I want to go there this instant!! Thank you for sharing that with us. I'm inspired!
Thank you for working so hard on this! It was incredible footage!
I love Paris/France, thanks for taking us with you. I really thought you were house hunting for yourself! 😤 x
Your videos are so beautiful. Honestly they give you a sense of peace because you’re transported to another place.
Dear Lydia, your hair always looks so stunning❤️ Greetings from Lithuania🤗
I've been to loire valley in France and it was absolutely gorgeous i would love to go back there one day
Congratulations on a wonderful video.
Thank you for taking us along 🥰
I am the same as you, I can’t stop saying wow, those chateaus are just beautiful. I want to go there too.
Thank you for taking us along. It was gorgeous. We are having The World Games in Birmingham, AL. It's wonderful to have over 100 different countries visiting.
Thank you for de Chenonceau, Lydia!
It's on my list to still see, but already among favourites based on what I've seen and know about it. I agree with you, it's best to take the full day to explore each château, otherwise you feel rushed 🌞
Absolutely beautiful vlog‼️ Lydia and Ali traveling....my favorite ‼️
I love watching your vlogs! I want to go to France even more after watching this vlog! I will also be planting some wildflower seeds soon! Hopefully today :) I hope you have a great rest of your day!

A little bit OTT though I’ve just found my mojo a bit 😂🙈
No deffo not OTT! Love it! 😂
WOW that is game changing those wrist towels. I hate when I wash my face and the water runs down my arms. Being a seamstress I shall make me a set. Thank you ☺️

Your garden looks amazing and love the olive dress.
Gorgeous video Lydia. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. Fabulous content as always x
I love the idea that a loved pet family member could come back.❤️
After living in a massive house myself I enjoy a cottage ! It was expensive and a lot of work .. simple life is best
Lydia - you’re an absolute breath of fresh air. You’re so inspiring to listen to and I look forward to your vlogs weekly. Thank you for being you 🌸
Thank you so much I so glad you enjoy what I’m doing x
Such a lovely vlog! So much inspiration. Thank you!
Lydia, have you considered commissioning a painting of your own kitchen garden. I think it would be stunning, especially its summer profile. I love the view!
That stunning purple plant is Russian Sage and is very easy to grow, and performs better when you neglect them a bit. Gorgeous color and structure!
Spent three months on a farm in Loire Valley, it was like being in a fairytale Eden. The soil is so soft and loomy and the tomatoes, omg.
Just lovely Lydia ❣️ Thank you for sharing your trip ❣️ What a beautiful experience ❣️
The dress w the beautiful back line white w print is perfect 🎉
Omg! So much Monty Don vibes! He toured the 2nd château with the water, I believe. Anyway, absolutely inspired to add plants to my garden. Thank you!
That dark olive green dress is GORGEOUS!!!!!
@@ellengross1027 You’re right! I was sure the guide told us that at Chenonceau, but will definitely have to visit Ussé now! Thanks ☺️
The château de Chenonceau is also called: Château des Dames ( ladies castle) because a lot of powerful women owned it...like Catherine de Médicis.......💗
