Why I Scrapped These Fakemon

- In this video I’ll be sharing a handful of my scrapped or beta Fakemon that didn’t quite make the cut. As I offer some insight not only into their inspirations or designs, but as to why I ultimately decided to scrap them.

If you’re not feeling it Mykel then you’ve made the right choice regardless of what others might say. I personally love the designs you scrap but I also trust your creativity and out of the box thinking
Sometimes taking a step back to really take a look at what you have and cutting some Pokémon is the only way to advance, we’re sure you made the right decision!
Wow… the dragon ice Pokémon! Amazing, all of them are actually pretty great designs. If u make a new region I could see them in it!

Hocus and Pocus were the first fakemon that I know from you even long before I see the Leweka region. Even we won´t see them in Fyrun it was a pleasure to see them.
I know you don’t care what we think, because you have your own process (and I acknowledge that) but Auroragon was dope.
It’s not that I don’t care what you or anyone thinks, it’s that the decisions have already been made so I can’t second guess myself or go back and change things everytime someone doesn’t agree with something I do. Otherwise I’d never get anything accomplished lol and fear not Auroragon will live on! It just has a redesign but it’s still very similar
Hey, i was one of the people who disagreed with your decisions and commented in the last video.
First, i wanted to apologize if comments like mine have frustrated you, because that wasn't the intent at all. Also, i listened to your reasons on why you scrapped them and, while i don't agree with some of them, i still respect your opinion and i won't force you to change your decisions.
The reason i and others have criticized your decisions is not because we wanted to be rude, but becuase we all really care about your fakemons and all the work you and the artists put in making them. It's always sad seeing a cool design conseptualized, only for it to be cut and thrown in the garbage, but remember, i'm not here to stop you. As i said, i respect your decisons and opinions.
Anyway, this time i actually agree with all your decisions and i have no complains. I'm really excited to see the new ice pseudo.

Awe haha you’re sweet but please don’t feel bad or apologize! 🫣 Everyone’s entitled to their opinion and I know no one means any harm by that which is why I said in the video I’m usually flattered by these statements. Usually. I didn’t say that to make anyone feel bad, but there are some more rude or entitled comments where it can be frustrating as a creator to make a tough decision like that, put the effort into to explaining the reasoning behind it (even tho I really don’t even owe anyone that) and then people either not listen to any of what you had to say or feel the need to argue with you about it as if it really affects them. Like the decision has been made but some people make this big plea and make it super personal or insult you as if that will change anything. Like this is just a passion project for me, I love my followers and that people care as much as they do, really, but what a lot of people don’t seem to understand is at the end of the day I am the only one who needs to feel satisfied with what I’ve put out into the world. And everyone could disagree with me, but that still wouldn’t change how I feel in my heart.
It’s understandable for why you had to scrapped or had to change designs, but out of all of them I love Hocus & Pocus
I think some of these Fakemon would have been cool to be seen in your regions, though I still know that it's your region and you can do whatever you want with it
Good to see you analysing why you cut these out.
if you make more regions in the future, it would be cool if you inclunded some of them in there, even if you dont, they probably were scrapped for the best
All of these designs are gorgeous and all of these concepts are so cool, shame to see them scrapped but it’s understandable why, thank you for sharing!

These are great designes. A bit pitty they are scrapped, but I understand you have your reasons. Hope you can reuse them someday, somehow. Keep up the great work🙂👍
You should bring them back into your third region

Hey man, at the end of the day it's your pokemon and region, and you have ultimate control. If you don't really love it, you probably should either change it to make it better, and if you can't, you can always say goodbye to it. Sometimes you just have to cut something
I was gonna ask if you were planning on using Hocus and Pocus for your third, region before I heard you say you handed them off to Aetis, lol
These beta designs are awesome! Mysfortun I would love to see come back, but I don’t get why you scrapped him due to Gimmigoul being the same type? The seaweed chest is to me unique enough to stand by itself without Gimmighoul and honestly I hope it comes back someday through a brand new Pokémon!

All of these are amazing, but I can understand why you scrapped them. Aurorogon is my favorite.

Bring the Narwhal back. You cant have the Beluga without the Narwhal.
Wailord should be included at least in future regions

I am SO sad that they scraped Fyrúnian wailord. 😭 I loved his design. But I guess some things have to go. I LOVED seeing these scrapped designs!
What do you mean gen 9 scrapped the route 1 normal? Lechonk is the route 1 mammal.
I was referring to the route 1 dark/normal like Alolan Rattata or Galarian Zigzagoon

I am a little bit sad that you decide a fakemon being worthy by counterparts in the actual pokemon games...
In my opinion you should be proud of your creation no matter what... I mean your best starter is a fire-horse...
But there is always something good ^^ redesigneing this last mon is a good choice I hope..
Well please realize I am still proud of and love all these designs. It’s like pizza it’s one of my favorite foods, but even then I’m not always in the mood. Or a better example is even if I am in the mood you can’t find it on all menus. While I liked them I just felt these didn’t belong on the Fyrún Regions menu.

Scratching a creation because it is to simular to something else is sad in my eyes...
Your work and those of the artists bringing it to live is amazing...

@@naviro6672 not mad, don’t worry lol, but I think you’re missing the point cause all the reasons weren’t all or even just cause they looked like something else. There is usually a lot more to it than that. Plus it’s not like these don’t still exist and weren’t already shared in the same sense as all my other creations. Both myself and the artists already got a lot out of these and they were basically just cut from my head canon really.
I'm guessing another reason Auroragon was scrapped was due to the Pseudo-legendary Baxcalibur also being an Ice/Dragon type?
Nope! One of the 2 psuedos Jotundra is still Ice/Dragon type

Now I am thinking why jotundra changed one thing in the current I want design is it has only one tooth
i think your reasons for scrapping these mons are pretty solid so i'm interested in hearing your reasons for the scrapped lewekan mons (particulary lochaos, because it has such a badass concept)

It’s unfortunate but sometimes you just gotta cut a design out for whatever reason. Not every idea will end up making it through the design process it’s probably not any consolation but the art for all of these looks great. Maybe you can revisit them for a future project
Hey mykel I have a question do I have permission to use some of these designs if yes say yes if no tell me why that's basically piracy
No, I’m sorry I not only put a lot of working into coming up with these but paid a lot of money to get the artwork done. So others who didn’t put any work into it and being able to use something I myself had to pay for to use doesn’t sit right with me. Especially as I can’t control how they’d be used and if anything goes wrong it could trace back to me and I’m then associated with that mess.
You know u could make a sorta design for fyrunian wailord so artist can make it the way u think would suit im not saying a way u can bring it back im just explaining how if u feel u have a design that u think works better than the current design u could do that i only used fyrunian wailord as an example cuz it was a design u felt could be better so i figured it could get my point across
That still doesn’t fix the variety of other issues I listed like having too many whales & water or ice types. Plus I’d have to pay for it all over again, not worth it. Cuts needed to be made anyways to get the dex to a certain number this one just made the most sense.
hey if you decide to make another fakemon region, you could call it pokemon scrapped with all of the scrapped pokemon of yours in it
Those designs are amazing, but i totally understand ehy you scrapped them, did it to me on fakemon region to! (Beside it literally haven't got out of my mind yet and still is just though with descriptions, but still! A pokemon region is a pokemon region right?😅)

But anyways my favorite out of those as Auroragon and i think you should re-use him! Maybe trough a DLC were you travel to the past where it is a anciet version of the new pseudo-legendary or this dragon-type legendary yet to be revealed! Or maybe use him in another region! Or, i could use it for my ON european country-baeed pokemon region! It's mainly inspired by Transilvania but also Iceland, Ireland, Scottland and many more "lands"!🤩

@@rylanbrewer3320 it wasn’t scrapped just repurposed so it’s just no longer a temporary rebirth form, but instead a permanent rebirth evolution

@@rylanbrewer3320 because everyone always said it looked much more like a brand new evolution altogether than a form change and I needed new Pokémon to make up for all the cuts made post Gen 9 so this was a good way to cover one of those slots without having to pay for new artwork. Plus it’s still connected to the rebirth mechanic and in game so it’s not like it makes much a difference.

Yup! But this is just for the Fyrún Region I’ll make another one for the scrapped or redesigned Leweka Pokémon in the future

To me scrap them if you need / want to. Would I love to see them / hear all of the info you had before oh heck yeah but again it's your money, your region and your time and reasons. Do what you most. yes this is meant to be a flattering thing without saying you shouldn't scrap them but be a compliment.
Edit / Idea for the scrapped mons
Why not make a region of Scrapped mons sorta like how we have the ultra beasts but sorta like a scrapped mon dimension. this way they get out there but there then would be a good reason for each of them to exist. and not saying don't scrap them but recycle / reuse them except for the ones you gave away.
So we’re never going to know their base stats

Waste of time was poor word choice, I’ll admit lol, but what I mean is I hate having to repeat myself. I put a lot into my videos & usually go into great detail to explain why I’ve made the decisions I have so when I get entitled comments like that it appears they either didn’t actually listen to any of what I had to say or simply don’t care. Most people only hear “is too much like this Pokémon” and assume that is the only reason when I often have and share several others. Then try to argue that one reason as if there weren’t a list of others I had to consider and already discussed in the video. Engagement, validation, following etc is all nice, but I’ve never done this for anyone else, but me. It all started only as a creative outlet & passion project & no matter how much I grow that’s what it will always be about for me. That doesn’t mean I don’t care about anyone else’s opinions just that I have already made my decision & don’t feel I should have to explain myself more than I already have. That gets tiresome.
Please don't scrapped them please make pokemon legend's elemage fast please reveals the pseudo legendary pokemon
They may be scrapped but we'll always have this video to see what could have been. But you don't feel these fit, and that's okay.
