- I'm turning Robot X into Iron Spiderman, Last time I built Spiderman's the head eye mechanism, and this time I'm mounting Spiderman's head on the body with an animatronic neck built from 3D prints, servos, and Arduino control. I hope you enjoy part 2 of my Iron Robot Spiderman.

You can do a Doc Oc or Iron Spider type or human inspired animal or alien from under our existing arms or ...
Like Gundam Gusion Rebake Full City with the extra sub arms that can also grab stuff.
I want to say how much I love your channel. I'm in 10th grade and I'm in the engineering pathway for my school. The time and quality you put into your videos is amazing and your my favorite youtuber. I've done some small projects with autodesk inventor and my 3d printer, but what you do just blow me away. Keep up the great work.

I have to say that head animatronics are great. It really looks quite lifelike with that nice range of pretty fluid motions. I'm looking forward to see him in action. I still think that the head could be a bit smaller but it looks pretty good nonetheless.

Make a robotic lego mini-fig to go with the big legos! He could even ride the lego skateboard
You should make his head controlled by a vr headset, and make the vr display show jarvis.

A suggestion if you do go with the Waldoes (tentacle-things) - Dan Slott gave him four of them in Avengers: The Initiative - the odd number always bugged me in the Civil War version.
you could put two camera inside the eyes and display the two video signals in a VR headset. You could also do mouvement sensor s fixed to your arms to move the robot arms with the signal. So you would think you are the robot !

It took Honda years, millions in cash and teams of people to develop ASIMO; the walking, talking robot. it took James - a few UA-cam episodes and some bits from Maplin! lol
The head looks a bit bigger than it should be. Proper head to body ratio is about 1/8th. Yours looks like to be 1/5th or 1/6th. But still looks great!

James, as soon as you said "not sure if I'm making Darth Maul or spider man" I instantly thought: "the next robot x needs to be star wars". You can't deny that star wars is one of the biggest topics in cosplay, and this being a cosplay robot it's only natural. (Super Battle Droid???)
PS LOVING this iron spider build, Spidey being one of my fav supers, though I'm missing the classic iron spider colors 😥... guess I'll just have to buy my own 3d printer and build a cosplay robot to get over that! 😁

For the back iron spider has a sort of backpack that mount to the arm things which should cover the weird geometry of the back

Beno Učakar he said seeing as the eyes were already black and it wouldn’t be as close to the actual Iron-Spider, that he wanted to use traditional Spider-Man colours to make sure its recognisable.
Acrimonious Mirth yea a heard that, but what about if the black parts that glow would glow in a yellow goldish collor and i think with the 8 legs the Iron spider woul be quite recognisable

I would have thought that you'd want an "Emergency Stop" button to be in the most accessible place. Perhaps you could mount it at the back just below the hips? That way if it gets all naughty you can just shut it down with a smack on the bum! :D

Hey try and blend the back piece in with the rear actuator that should cut down on the size of the piece you need.

Well the cool thing is he has the idea behind the movie version of iron spider armor the suit he never wore but I like the spider design better

Hey James, could you consider doing a new costume build for the Power Rangers 2017 in the future? The suits shouldn't be as big a task for you as they are not too different from your Iron Man suits.

You should make it so his head can turn 360. He is a robot after all. He shouldn't be constrained by human range of motion.
POVadventure It makes the wiring easier if the motion is restricted. No need for slip rings or the like, just make sure the cables have enough slack to move properly.

Could someone please explain how to program Arduino for me. I'm working on a robot arm controlled my a rc controller receiver. I need a ppm input from the receiver and 6 channels out on the arduino. Total of 3 channels in from the receiver. I also need mixing for them to work
